It's remarkable how tiny this coffee shop is, but even more remarkable how great their coffee and food are. There's nothing chain about this place, just quality product and friendly service. The scones are incredible, really gourmet. But wait, there's more. Adesso now serves Millie's ice cream.

Adesso Cafe is a small grab and go that carries many of the food and beverage offerings you would find throughout the Pittsburgh. The coffee comes from Commonplace coffee and the espresso comes from LaPrima Espresso in the Strip District. The inside is very small so it is really designed for grab and go. Grab and go vegan food is available from Reed and Company in Lawrenceville. Baked goods come from LaGourmandine in Mt Lebanon and from Truly Wize bakery in Greensburg. Truly Wize carries both gluten free and some vegan desserts. Check the box carefully if you have concerns. The ice cream comes from Millie's in Shadyside however, it is served in small cup containers with a spoon or 4 oz containers. There is no scooped ice cream. Selection was limited since there was a big rush after Memorial Day. They now carry Leona's ice cream from Wilkinsburg. I have had pretty much all these things on previous visits to these stores and I will admit all of them are very good! Therefore I decided to get the chocolate gluten free vegan cake from Truly Wize bakery. For $3.00 you can't go wrong. The desserts are carefully packaged for take out. Outside there are a few tables and high tops if you want to enjoy your purchase while in the area. I must admit I loved every bite of this cake and was very pleased with my selection. I love the fact that this little cafe gives a great composite of some of the best coffees, teas, pastries, and food the city has to offer in the Sewickley neighborhood. Located on Walnut St in the town's business district metered street parking is available.

Favorite coffee place in Sewickley! Iced coffee is my go to and their pastries are always top notch! Frank and his staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Small shop to grab and go and a few seats outside.

I ordered the spicy Italian on a hoagie roll, which was delicious and had a great kick. What really stood out, though, was the homemade cheese spread. They also have an impressive selection of prepared and frozen foods, making it the perfect place to pick up dinner for later. Overall, I would definitely recommend Café A Mano to anyone stopping in for a quick lunch or looking to grab something for dinner later.

They only have two tables and a few barstools along the window for indoor dining, but did mention that customers often take their food across the street to the coffee shop to enjoy when space isn't available. We were able to utilize the table for two. We both ordered the Italian wedding soup, a cup for $6 each, and two sandwiches. I went with the spicy Italian on their homemade bun and my friend got the turkey pesto panini. We both enjoyed the soup and she devoured her sandwich. Unfortunately, I didn't love mine as much as I had hoped. The sandwich was cold, which isn't necessarily a problem, but the bun itself was chilled, dense, soft white bread. After picking the sandwich up a couple of times, the bun became wrinkled and slightly off-putting. I'm sure there are a lot of people who love these buns, but it wasn't the combo for me. I'd try something on sourdough or focaccia next time.

The menu lists breakfast foods (e.g., pancakes, toasts, and sandwiches) and lunch foods (e.g., salads, sandwiches, and bowls). Baked goods, coffees, teas, and refreshers are also available. Customers may dine in, get takeout, order catering for outside events, or rent the greenhouse for special events. My husband and I ate one breakfast here. We placed our order at a counter, paid upfront, and then were given our drink and a number to take to a table of our choosing. The weather on that day was very rainy, so we sat inside the greenhouse rather than outside, and the employees carried our foods over in containers with lids. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Peach Berry Stuffed French Toast - 4.5 stars - This was a weekend special. Challah French toast was stuffed with lemon mascarpone, peaches, and mixed-berry compote. It had a large serving size and a nice mixture of sweet and sour flavors. Bloom Salad - 4.5 stars - This salad contained mixed greens, sliced apple, dried cherries, candied pecans, gorgonzola, red onion, and maple balsamic dressing. Blue cheese is not my favorite, but I enjoyed the freshness and flavors of the other ingredients. Breakfast Egg Sandwich Croissant - 4.5 stars - This sandwich consisted of a croissant filled with two eggs, cheese, and three strips of crispy bacon. On the side was a basic salad with dressing. My husband did not like how the salad dressing got on his sandwich. Chai Latte - 4.5 stars - This Rishi Masala chai concentrate with steamed milk tasted very good. The total price for these three foods and one drink was $49 plus a tip. Afterward, we explored the market and gardening center. Available for purchase were jewelry, flower pots, many types of indoor and outdoor plants, and much more. Two employees kindly offered me assistance with the plants. I loved seeing the exterior of a hobbit house, although it was too short for me to go inside. Please note that this business will hold a Tolkien-inspired Hobbit Fest on September 12, 2026. The festival will include live folk music, local artisan vendors, themed cafe foods, alcohol vendors, activities such as a costume contest, etcetera.

The ingredients were fresh, the aioli sauce and feta cheese paired well with the picked onion and roasted tomato. I ordered some coffee crumb cake too - nothing special but it was decent (needed more spice). Hope I can make it back to breakfast one of these days!

Every weekend we try to hit up a new local coffee shop, and on this morning we happened to be fishing at Glade Run when I found Freya Jane's nearby. This bakery is located in what appears to be a small development of townhomes with a handful of storefronts. The inside has a large ordering area with plenty of baked goods displayed behind glass, along with an equally spacious seating area. They also had a number of card games available, and my wife and I enjoyed playing one with our 4.5-year-old twins. On this morning I decided to go with an iced brown sugar cinnamon latte while my wife chose an iced pistachio latte. My daughter picked out a sprinkle sugar cookie, my son chose a blueberry Pop-Tart, and my wife and I split a crème brûlée-filled croissant. I'll start with the baked goods, which were excellent. The croissant was buttery and flaky, and you could clearly see the lamination throughout it. The filling reminded me of a cream puff with its rich, creamy texture and flavor. To complete the crème brûlée theme, it had large pieces of caramelized sugar on top that added a satisfying crunch and really made the pastry live up to its name. My son's blueberry Pop-Tart also had a great flavor with plenty of blueberry filling inside, and my daughter loved her sprinkle sugar cookie. As far as the baked goods were concerned, they were easily five stars. The coffee was good, although it didn't quite reach the same level as the pastries. My latte had a nice balance between the brown sugar and cinnamon syrup and the espresso. Thankfully the coffee wasn't overpowered by the flavoring, and while it was certainly enjoyable, it wasn't quite as memorable as the baked goods. My wife also enjoyed her latte, especially the pistachio flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My family loved the baked goods, and we all thought the coffee was good as well.

Be advised, seats were at a premium; the place was packed and we could understand why. There were lots of sweet things to pick from and they had some gfree items too. Everything was wonderful.

Inside there are display cases filled with baked goods, plenty of tables, and a small, comfortable seating area. They also have some fun seating options, including stools shaped like bagels and donuts, which my kids enjoyed. Even though I went inside, I was not feeling my best, so my wife handled the ordering on this visit. She ended up choosing a hot Snickerdoodle latte for me, which was made with vanilla, honey, and cinnamon. The coffee ended up being quite good. The drink started with a pleasant sweetness and a prominent cinnamon flavor before the rich coffee notes emerged on the finish. Since the espresso still came through despite the flavorings, I suspect they use a fairly robust espresso blend. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our drinks, and the baked goods looked tempting as well. My wife and daughter had visited previously and enjoyed the food, which only gives me another reason to come back and try more of the menu.
