After being rudely turned away at Saint Pearl, I ran over to Cafe Fiore around the corner and had a wonderful breakfast before I left Paris later that morning. Although the cafe was busy they still had plenty of seating and quickly took me in. I ordered a cappuccino, pain au chocolat, a mushroom omelette and juice. I forgot to take a picture of the mushroom omelette but it came with a little side arugula salad. A simple omelette that prob needed more seasoning but a little dash of extra pepper did the trick. The cappuccino and pain were perfect and I was treated very nice and warmly by the staff. It's definitely one of those cafes that are perfect to photograph for all your social media needs and located in great area in St Germain. Another 10/10 experience for me! read more

I'm a cheese fan but they put way too much cheese in it to where it overpowered the soup and ended up taking up 80% of the bowl after it hardened and clumped up. Not a big fan of tourist packed businesses and over crowded space so I'm not in love with this place. My mom said this is one of the most populat cafes in Paris so I was open to checking it out. The menu was extensive with alcohol, soft drinks, coffee and dessert. With most places with a big menu, this place doesnt have one thing that really shine for me. We had creme brulee, tea and coffee. Creme brulee was fine but it tasted cold - not sure if thats how it should be. Tea and coffee were average, nothing spectacular. Price was high even for Paris, especially with the average quality is a no no for me. Service was mostly quick but we do have to go find the server and ask for the check or try to flag him as soon as he is close to us to order an extra thing as it is very busy. I'd advise against going here - there are a lot of good places with smaller crowd and cheaper prices + better tasting food/drinks in Paris. read more

A coffee landmark in Paris. A lot of my friends recommend this place. I have to say it's located in the nice and charming area of St Germain. As far as the food, I would say I have better pastries especially croissants from the small bakeries in the area. Their Parisian chocolate was just ok. I was told by a friend that I needed to stop by this cafe given its classic legacy in Paris. I learned so much about it while I was here, like how it's one of the oldest coffee houses in the city, and it's where a lot of famous and artists spent their time. In order words, it was a must visit spot. I ordered the Jockey and a coffee. I really enjoyed my meal here and the ambiance of the entire place. I was excited to visit the Cafe De Flore in Paris and I was expecting a restaurant rich in cultural art and famous books written by authors who frequented the café. Was highly disappointed by the lack of ambience and aesthetics. It was just another ordinary café. However, the offset was great service and delicious food. So not all was lost. Overall, I would recommend skipping this restaurant if it is on your list of historic sites. This cafe in Paris had the coolest decor ever. I loved the green lettering on their tea cups, which they even sold. Their hot chocolate was amazing, especially with the whipped cream on top of the rich, warm chocolate. They also collaborated with highsnobiety on a fashion project. When I found out that charcuterie boards originated in France, I couldn't resist ordering one. It was delicious, with a variety of cured meats and fresh baguettes, along with a touch of apricot. Because this is a very popular and historic cafe, of course the prices are exorbitant and they're not incentivized to keep the quality of the food extremely high since they'll never run out of customers. Also, you may need to be a little bit assertive to get service to your table as the servers look pretty busy running around. The line to get a table goes fast, so don't let it intimidate you if your heart is set on trying this place out. All this said, you're paying for the history, not necessarily very delicious or filling food. I suppose it's worth a visit, but I won't be back again. read more

I cannot stress enough how crappy this place was. Up until this point we had had great service in Paris, but this place had the most rude staff. We waited in a really long line to get in, but the line actually went rather quickly. Upon seating we were semi-ignored. Once we finally placed our order things started moving faster but you could tell we were just part of a machine... The terrible part happened when a pigeon made its way inside the restaurant, and proceeded to fly around in a panicked, flutter, and landed on my sons head, at which point he screamed because he was properly terrified. It was one of the most traumatic experiences for him, and he is still scarred by it. The pigeon ruined the entire meal, and I understand that's not the staffs fault, but nobody came over or even cared to address the situation. The rest of the restaurant patrons were horrified and tried to console us. Nobody from the staff cared that the pigeon had landed in our food. They didn't replace it, and they made us pay for the full meal. NEVER would go here again. The only reason it's two stars and not one is because the food was pretty good although way way way over priced. read more

I took a party of four for dinner and it was just one disappointing dish after another. Can you imagine French rolls in Paris that are dry and tasteless? Can you imagine French Onion Soup that tastes like water? Can you imagine a club sandwich that tastes dull and boring? How about an Apple Tart that tastes like cardboard? All these culinary failures and more await you at the formerly great Cafe de Flore! P.S. This was my first hot chocolate since coming to Paris so I can't compare it to other establishments but I quite enjoyed the one at Cafe de Flore. Very very rich chocolate so make sure you get cream on the side or a pastry to help with it. Everything here shares the common theme of being overly sweet but honestly still delicious, just overbearing at times. The eclaire shell was hard but the decadent cream made up for it. I have been craving for profiteroles au chocolat, so I ordered one. The presentation was wonderful. The ice-cream was smooth. The puff pastry was a bit rough, but it was still good. The chocolate was rich, but not too sweet or overpowering. It was very delicious. I was sat upstairs, and there were 2 servers. They worked hard by running up and down the stairs for picking up food from the kitchen and clearing up dirty dishes.
