I ordered 3 chocolate churros and a chocolate blended drink (no caffeine). I think we waited about 10 minutes or so but the churros came out fresh and hot. Whenever we are in Ensenada, we always come here for the Chocolate filled Churros! They always are busy, lots of tourists go here especially when they are in a walking tour. It is conveniently located up the street from the Cruise ports to the left side. The only draw back was I wanted my drink cold, they made it hot, and it came out to $13 (for two churros and two small coffees). I gave a $20 and they said they didn't have dollars for change. I even tried to ask if they can throw in another filled churro and they said they can't do it. They do accept Apple Pay and credit cards but it's been a year since I came here, not sure if I did that last time. I already was holding up the line so I just said I would take pesos for change. Next time I am here, I will bring smaller bills as they don't have change. I had made a critical error by getting no fillings at our first churro stop in Cabo and it turned out to be a lot dryer than expected due to the lack of filling. While it's a bit on the pricey side IMO, the churros were delicious! I found this nice coffee shop on my return visit to Ensenada Mexico. This two story shop is very spacious and has a very traditional Mexico vibe. It offers empanadas, coffee cakes and mocha drinks. The empanadas are small (bite size) but very flavorful. I'd definitely recommend the fig empanada. It wasn't sweet and was definitely worth the price. This is our fourth visit to this café, and it's definitely our go to place in Ensenada. The trails are their specialty and we always get their traditional style. It's a great place to stop and relax. The workers can speak fluent English too so I had no problems ordering. The vanilla ice cream was truly creamy and had a great strong vanilla taste. The la lechera sauce was heavenly sweet! We coupled it with a caramel latte! The ambience was very comfortable. The establishment has two levels and they set it up like a study room you would see in mansions but with a homey feel. During the whole trip, we kept an eye out for a churro cart but never had any luck. We finally found Café La Churreria to satisfy our sweet tooth craving. I ordered two churros, one filled with a guava cream and the other with custard. They weren't overwhelmingly sweet, which is a good thing for me. I was here for the first time really excited to visit with my step mom whose been here countless times. Its good to consider that the times shes visited she says theres always many young people that hang out and lay on the couches and lay their legs on the footrests. Churros are NOT good. They are TOO crunchy (as crunchy as a chip). It should be a little soft and chewy inside which it is not. They were so disappointing especially considering they are suppose to specialize in churros.
