1st time there.... This will definitely be our future stop in Stillwater/perkins when we want Mexican! Chips are crunchy, salsa is really pico de gallo (yum!) and they have some warmer salsas if you're looking for some heat! I'm we had a burrito and street tacos. They fixed my burrito as requested (I'm a little picky) and the el pastor on the tacos was super juicy and flavorful. Sides were great as well and the $4 margaritas were good too! Would not recommend. The flavor was very bland. Chicken was over cooked. The rice & beans were mediocre. Kind of overpriced considering the amount of food and no flavor. My fiancé and I have made an adventure out of our "tour of Mexican cuisine in Stillwater"! We only have a food truck left to go and we have eaten at all of these establishments over the last 10 months. Some of the restaurants we have frequented a few times. Some of them have been pretty good. Some of them are a little pricier than others. Last night was the first time we'd been to Cafe Mona. How had we not known about this place before?!! It's by far our favorite! The food is authentic! They know what's up! The service was top notch and the restaurant is quaint & not too loud like a large chain establishment. My man had a chimichanga and I had the chicken skillet. I'd love to be able to tell your the exact name of my dish, but I'm afraid I'd absolute butcher it. We ordered all the things! We got queso, quacamole, and ended our meal with sopapillas and tried their Oreo churro. There was not a bad thing on our table. Don't go in expecting tortilla chips like you'd get out of the bag. These are homemade chips! At first we weren't sure we were going to like them, but I'm telling you, they grew on us. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Stillwater. I had the street tacos with beans and rice. Both the pastor taco (pork) and the chicken and chorizo taco had a thin, slightly sweet BBQ-like sauce . . . delicious! I took a Cubano coffee with me when I left, and it was a wonderful treat. I will definitely be back! As a local, I can tell you, there are many Mexican restaurants in Stillwater. I love Mexican food, and Mona's is one of only three here that I love to go to. The best chilaquiles this side of Mexico. The red sauce was earthy and made an awesome base for all the wonderful toppings the chips themselves were fresh out of the fryer. I love it when restaurants do that!! The waitresses were friendly and the space is small but cozy and clean. My husband has the Mexican mocha coffee and I really think he liked it. If you want some yummy Mexican food, this is literally the only good Mexican place in Stillwater. Café Mona is a delightful little place with great service and a welcoming atmosphere. The food comes in gut filling portions with wallet happy prices. The fajitas were delicious and the street tacos were some of the best we've ever had. The house-made sauces were astonishingly well made. The only problem this business may encounter is due to how high the quality is. Once this place becomes a little more popular, it might be impossible to get in due to how small of a shop it is. It would still be worth the wait, however. read more

Easily some of the best Mexican food I have ever had (and I'm from South Texas )! They have the best employees and some of the best coffee in Oklahoma. Their food is absolutely delicious, and you can 100% taste the love. Their salsa and chips are homemade, and I wish I could order is by the jar, it's the salsa I compare EVERYTHING to! I really like this place! The beans are a little bland but that is because they are not trying to disguise old nasty food with spices and such.The beans are vegetarian and I can eat all I want because they don't use animal lard! The salsa is wonderful and so are the handmade chips. Came here for a Father's Day breakfast with my family. They refused to put tables together, so my family sat at opposite ends of the restaurant (it was just 6 of us and a toddler, and clearly there were open tables) Then when I went to grab a high chair they said I couldn't put it at the end of the table, so my 3 year old couldn't sit with us. When a table opened up next to my family, they wouldn't allow us to move even though we had not gotten our food yet. The food was good, but the experience was ruined because they wouldn't allow the family to be together. read more
