Delicious food! Small restaurant in a plaza with great service and excellent food. Would definitely eat there again. Reasonable prices and a good size menu.

Bowtie Pasta with Ham, Peas in an Alfredo sauce.
Selmy B.

We arrive during dinner time, are welcome by the pizza maker and find no other customers. That makes me wonder, why there are more employees/owners hanging around then customers? We grab our menus, with daily specials and pick our spot to sit. Waitress quickly approaches, meanwhile another customer enters. Maybe we are early, even though it is 6:30pm. It is nice that entrees include either a dinner salad or pasta. And prices are very reasonable. Except, we notice a lot of up charge opportunities. We order, get our wines and then the red flag begin. The owner wanders around, while his dog is roaming freely dragging a leash, dog proceeds to spot in front of the register on the customer side to scratch itself. This is all inside! Aren't these health violations? My salad had wilted colored lettuce, not exactly appealing. On the menu it says bowtie pasta with ham, peas and Alfredo sauce. After I order it, the server actually comes back to me and asked if I wanted the peas and ham in with the pasta and sauce? What? Yes, and what I got were chucks of ham, the kind used for a pizza, with peas and bowtie pasta in an Alfredo sauce tossed together quickly. The lack of taste was evident. My can sauce taste better. Meanwhile you eat, no one is doing anything but starring at you eat. Literally standing behind your table, just standing there. Kind of creepy. Two other groups of 4 entered. But all else was relatively quite, other than the Italian music on the speakers. A visit to the one bathroom used by all, indicates that no one ever cleans it either. Disgusting floor and dust on the one piece of furniture. Really if this is the customer area, what does the back look like? Owner is real concern with visiting your table with his dog to make sure you liked everything. Where could I begin? Said nothing, paid and ran out of there. Very disappointing. Made through the night with no illness, thankful. Overall would not recommend.

a plate of pasta and musselling

Our group ordered a Margherita pizza, spaghetti fruit di mare, lasagna, salad and other dishes. The food was very tasty and the service was good.

Don't miss this place!!!!! Am I in Brooklyn????? Omg.... COME HERE! Outdoor seating... and lovely indoors as well!!!

Once you see it, a large mural of an Italian pizza maker holding up NY with the Italian flag splashed in the background, you know you've arrived. We were greeted even before we reached the door and offered a choice of dining inside or outdoors. They have a large outdoor area that is shielded from the parking lot, nice, but we opted to sit inside for some a/c. Our server was right over and got us started with drinks while we looked over the menu. She was so nice, attentive, helpful, and upbeat for the entire time we were there, a real pleasure. As for the food, we decided to split their Greek Salad and a Prosciutto Arugula 12" pizza. They offer both 12 and 18" pies. This was not the pizza I would have selected, I'm more a Meat Lovers Supreme carnivore, but it was my wife's choice tonight. I thought the salad was pretty standard, lots of Feta cheese and a generous amount of dressing in a container. My wife left me all the red onion slivers, maybe not her best decision, and took almost all of the olives. The salad was still fine, lots of green. Our pizza was also brightly green, what with all the arugula on top. Like more salad. But underneath was an excellent pizza crust, like they describe on their menu with a bit of NY char. While I missed all the greasy meat, the prosciutto was very flavorful, a top of the line ingredient. A hint of truffle oil added to the mix and pieces of a hard Parmesan cheese (Parmigiano Reggiano) added more. I have to admit, it was a pretty good pizza.

The waitress was very friendly and helpful with answering all my questions. We ordered 2 glasses of pinot noir which were decent, fried artichoke hearts for the appetizer and two pizzas one cheese and one with garlic, cheese, and little chilies. The appetizer was really good but I think it could have been elevated a notch if the dip was more of a lemon base dipping sauce. The pizzas were both thin and very tasty, nice tomato base, I liked the little difference of crust (thin & crunchy) compared to your normal softer crust on an Italian wood fired pizza. I like when I'm able to have preferences on pizza crusts on any given day. I would like to go back and try something else next time to see what this little spot has to offer. Overall it was a good experience and we will try it again in the future. Food 8.0 Atmosphere 8.0 Service 9.0

Gabrielle has been another staff member that goes well above and beyond to make sure our dining experience is wonderful. *my only concern is that there is no elevator to accommodate ADA guests upstairs. We came for dinner on a cold night when the rain was blowing sideways outdoors. Our visiting family member had trouble going up and coming down the stairs. Sad really. The indoors on the first floor is very small and cramped.

A big plus in Main Street area amidst the gouge/steal for parking fee and towing charges by the city. The building and decor are really exceptional. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Smiles by all the waitstaff and busboys etc. Good vibe and the patrons appeared happy. Younger crowd visibly as well. The boss had a Titos cranberry cosmo she said was very tasty. At $15 it was a reasonable sized pour compared to others in Sarasota. 8/10 We got two orders and split them. This was our first visit so "Rich M" was VERY attentive and we bantered about many items and settled on these two. Calabrian wings : Wood-fired, calabrian chili, honey, garlic, parmigiano reggiano, pistachio gremolata . This was very nicely presented and cooked sufficiently. My wife makes just about the best wings I have ever had. So when she gets wings out its up against the wall tough competition. These were very tasty wings. the gremolata is full featured and flavored. The wings interior and skin could have been cooked longer. Not undercooked but not crispy and moist. In contrast the wing tips, outer edges and other areas were actually burned/charcoaled. Burnt. Of course the burnt charcoal flavor that went with it. As my wife was muttering...... LOW and SLOW. This type of charring process produces compounds (Heterocyclic Amines or HCAs) that the WHO and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies as Group 2A (probable) or Group 2B (possible) carcinogens. We cut off the truly charred and burnt bits. The big pizza oven looks lovely, but is a tool in the hands of the chef. 6/10 Burrata Pizza : Stracciatella, cherry tomato, arugula, parmigiano reggiano, evoo (v) This pizza arrived and looked as individual and interesting as it tasted! Magnificent. The arugula and the stracciatella and parmigiano was a flavorful home run. Really nice flavor and composition. Like the wings, the edges of the pizza crust and the top in many places where burnt in numerous places to the point of not being edible. The pizza was perfectly cook and still would have been fine maybe 1 or 2 minutes LESS. The "crust" was no fully edible without having the ash and charcoal flavor overwhelm the palate. the rest/most of the pizza was truly unique and awesome!!!! 9/10 We need to check this out again and try a few more things! Nice spot with some simple issues/details that can be remedied easily - easily 5 star.
