Hot coffee, cheesecake brownie, chocolate croissant, matcha latte

Secret neighborhood joint tucked away just off of Cambie. I live a couple of blocks away, so I've had the pleasure of visiting many times and am finally reviewing. Their drink menu is extensive, with lots of fun Asian inspired options ranging from matcha, oolong, yuzu, Jasmine, etc. I love the creative combinations of flavors, even though I tend to stick with a simple matcha. Their pastries/snacks are also very delicious, with a mix of sweet and savory options. A little on the pricey side, but service is always extremely friendly and the ambiance is peaceful. I definitely recommend if you're in the area.

This restaurant was busy during the weekend lunch with the crowd growing as we left. The service format is similar to Big Way. You're seated with a number and you order at the counter, and the server brings the food to you. There is also a self-serve water and utensil station. The counter would be fantastic for drinks but the table was way too high for us to enjoy our meals sitting there. The miso uni pasta had a nice uni flavour that wasn't too overpowering, but the dish was too salty. The tuna tataki benny had a nice light soy flavour though the tuna could've been trimmed more carefully. I was expecting a light sear of the tuna but they were served raw. The poached eggs were well done. The warm bread pudding was our favourite - perfectly sweet and not too heavy. Prices were reasonable, but the dessert outshined the savoury brunch dishes. The restaurant is bright and clean. Overall, it was a decent experience. Not my favourite brunch joint but I'd be interested in coming back for dinner. Paid street parking available.

Cozy and aesthetic interior, with a plant theme. Paid meter parking around the block. Osmanthus Oolong $5.25: very normal/mediocre, nothing much to say about it. Yuzu Matcha $5.75: Not a fan of this at all...there's huge glob of yuzu at the bottom that was very sweet. Doesn't work well with the matcha drink on top. Maybe I should've tried their coffee instead... Tiramisu $7+: Pretty tasy! It was soft with a good ratio of cream to cake. Not dry.

The next time you are around the Cambie-Fairview area don't forget to take time and stop at @cafeandlifeco. It's great for a light meal and coffee break Highlights include their freshly made Belgium waffles, we had their fruit yogurt waffle which was light and refreshing! Along with a killer duck breast croissant (juicy filling and crispy pastry) and a matcha brownie, your couples date is set. Don't forget the beverages, and their yuzu tea and cortado makes for that nice relaxing moment you need in your day

We ordered the latte, iced uji matcha espresso, mango sago tiramisu. The service was super friendly and nice. The latte was definitely one of the best beans we've had. Not overly sour, very dark and strong notes. The iced uji matcha espresso was very strong and well balanced between matcha and espresso. The mango sago tiramisu was not too sweet. It had lots of mango in it but I felt like it could have used more sago. It didn't really remind me of a tiramisu but more of a mango cake you would get from a Chinese bakery. Overall would recommend this place for coffee and to hangout as the seats are very comfortable. They don't have a lot of seating inside but they have a patio outside which is nice. I would come back to try their other baked goods as they have croissants, cookies and canales

Cheese and Ham croissant, Ice Latte and Coffee

Stopped by this cute cafe in the Cambie area this afternoon and had a wonderful experience. We got a the ham and cheese croissant which hit the spot. Croissant was flaky and delicious and had a good ham to cheese ratio. The ice late was tasted great as well. I got a small size and was pleasantly surprised at the portion. A lot of cafes tend to drown the iced latte with a ton of ice, the ratio here was perfect. They also had a bunch of pastries and speciality yuzu drinks which looked great. Will make another visit to try them out. Service was great and the ambience was cozy, great spot to relax and sip on a coffee!

Egg Salad Croissant Sandwich, Matcha Brownie, Roasted Sweet Potato Latte

Such cute and cozy little place, total hidden gem! The place was spotless, and the staff was so nice and made me feel at home. They had a small selection of croissant sandwiches, lots of desserts, and a drink menu with lots of cool specialty drinks. It looked like they don't have any vegan food, but there are nondairy milks available. I had an egg salad croissant sandwich, a matcha brownie, and a roasted sweet potato latte (seasonal). The food all looked very pretty and was as tasty as it looked. The egg salad was really tasty, a little tangy the way I like, and the croissant tasted very fresh, with a flaky exterior and soft, buttery interior. The matcha flavour of the brownie was very strong and it tasted like the matcha was of high quality, so it wasn't harshly bitter. The melty white chocolate chips were so nice. The roasted sweet potato latte was also fantastic - the sweet potato flavour was natural and not very sweet at all which I liked! The espresso also had a nice smooth taste. I liked the slightly thicker texture of this drink. I got the feeling that everything was made with love, it was a very nice experience all around.

    Earl gray oat misto

What a cute little gem of a cafe in Vancouver. I got the earl gray oat misto as they had run out of the oolong oat misto and I have to admit it had a unique flavour that I quite enjoyed. It was nice to have some nice tea selections on the menu with very friendly staff behind the counter. Will have to come back again!

    Great look and feel.

Chocolate croissant was fantastic. Croissant sandwich was really good. Service was quick and music was great. No idea why it is not busy or more expensive lol great spot.

    Tiramisu, yuzu oolong, matcha espresso

Cozy cafe with the friendliest staff! Specializing in a variety of unique tiramisu flavors, cafe & life co. had a wide selection of never before seen slices like mixed berry, mango sago and pineapple! The tiramisu are very light in flavor, which is different from the traditional tiramisu, but might be preferable for others. I personally like my tiramisu spongier and stronger in cheesiness and taste, so it wasn't my favorite. They roast their own coffee beans which was absolutely delicious. Smooth, chocolatey and bold - their beans are definitely worthwhile. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. The space has a nice vibe to it and very aesthetic to the eye with plants aroijd the entire cafe. It's a great spot to work or study!

New cafe just soft opening today on West 7th Ave, behind the Whole Foods Market. The cafe shop is small but has a warm welcoming interior decor. We had got a 12 oz latte and an Americano. The latte is very smooth and sweet with the right temperature. Their coffee has a fruity sweet and sour taste that balanced well with the bitterness. The owner is very friendly and also gives us some eclair to try. We got a passion fruit flavor and chocolate flavor eclair. Both flavors are devine. The outer shells are remained it's crisp and the filling cream is cold with right amount of sweetness. It is surprisingly good. We will definitely come back if we happen to be in the area.

There was only one family ahead of me when I entered, who was asking questions about bean recommendations. The person at the order counter was really helpful providing them with good information. When it was my turn to order, it was quick since I had already selected beans that I wanted to purchase, and my oat latte. Option was asked if I wanted to dine in or takeout, and I went with the latter. After I got my drink, I took a seat on one of the benches they have outside the store. There's also a decent amount of indoor seating and an outdoor patio section in front of the store. Not my first time trying Nemesis since I've been to Vancouver before, but definitely a reminder of why they are listed as one of the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops. If I wasn't so full from brunch, I would have also gotten one of their pastries. Seeing them all was very tempting.

My mom was asked to get up and wait in line, while another party was allowed to sit. It was embarrassing and poorly handled. When I pointed out the long wait, the response was essentially that they have "the best coffee in Vancouver". That kind of attitude only works if the coffee is actually exceptional -- and it wasn't. It was below average and not worth the wait or the attitude. Very overhyped. Nice-looking space, weak service, average coffee. Kafka next door is a better option for coffee and cookie.

My boyfriend lined up at 9:30am for a 10am opening and there were already 25 people ahead of him. By the time the store opened, the line was over two blocks long. I heard the line up was up to 2 hours long later that day so to say that Angus T is a hit is a bit of an understatement. This is a cute location where the emphasis is on sweet and savoury croissants but they offer Danish, cinnamon buns, tea, and coffee options. We ordered the limited offering of the strawberry creme croissant plus got a regular croissant, onion jam & bacon, pistachio & raspberry, and ham & cheese. All of these croissants were DELICIOUS and the regular croissant brings me memories of Paris! Yes, they are pricey but at around $1.50 to $2.50 more than a croissant from Starbucks a block away, it is well worth it as a treat. I look forward to tasting more flavours and taking friends here to catch up over a delicious croissant and hot cup of tea. The River District neighbourhood needed a cute café like this and so glad they are finally open. Pro tip: if enjoying the treats at home, reheat the croissants in low heat. They taste better warm!
