I have been here before and remember a different experience. They're very friendly and the location and history of the building is very beautiful. For this particular experience it was slightlu underwhelming unfortunately. I went for coffee and breakfast and while their coffee is self serve, didnt mind this at all. Unfortunately the flavor was very mild and slightly watered down for my liking. I personally prefer a stronger brew and flavor. I have limitations to trying premixed beverages due to being diabetic. So perhaps their other drinks would be somrthing to try for others able to have sugar.

A unexpected visit that was pleasant in every way. My wife and I intended to go to the restaurant next door, but it was closed for the holidays. But we enjoyed Cafe Audrey's hospitality and brunch options. The cinnamon roll pancake was a star, distinctly better than the red velvet. My ranchero's omelet was good and filling, anchored by some good chorizo which isn't a given. There were a few lunch options that caught my eye, but I think their sweet breakfast/brunch items would make for a good first impression if you're looking to try out their offerings.

Great breakfast spot on Fort Ben. They have a great menu and the staff is very helpful if you don't know what you want. Ingredients were fresh. Everything was prepared perfectly. My wife had an omelette that was loaded with stuff that I would never eat in eggs, but she loved it so all was good. I went with the biscuits and gravy, had great flavor. The biscuit was good, gravy was a little thin but had good flavor. I added two overheard eggs and crispy hashbrowns and they were delicious. Will definitely be returning. Prices weren't too bad.

It's been a while since going to Cafe Audrey's. The service was amazing but the meal lacked flavor. I ordered the quiche of the day which had bacon, Gouda and broccoli (all my favs), but a little seasoning would have brought the dish to life.

I've been going to Cafe Audrey for years, but this has been the BEST experience & combo of food of all. My friend & I couldn't decide what to get.. so we ordered a lot. Ha (don't judge) The cinnamon pancakes were so good!! Very sweet but if you're a sweet lover like me, it's exactly what you want. Some of the best biscuits & gravy in Indy in my opinion! THE BEST "hot honey" chicken and waffles I've ever had. All of that plus a mimosa flight with 5+ juices to choose from! (My favorite clearly was the cinnamon apple..hence the big glass!)

Nestled in the cozy community of Fort Harrison, Cafe Audrey serves very good food. Today I had the pleasure of dining into one of their daily specials -- the Blue Crab Benedict -- and it was nothing short of amazing. The plate was beautifully composed: two perfectly poached eggs resting on a bed of delicate, sweet blue crab meat, all nestled atop lightly toasted English muffins that offered just the right crunch. The hollandaise sauce was the real hero -- silky, buttery with creamy, citrusy notes that brightened the richness of the dish without overpowering the crab. The eggs were poached to perfection and the crab meat had just enough briny seafood flavor that took this from breakfast to brunch. Paired with a side of crispy fried potatoes and onions made this a wonderful dining experience. Looking forward to my next visit.

I've been visiting this morning place for 10 years now, but haven't been much after Covid because quality really went down and prices continue to rise. Tried again over the weekend and the food was OK but the prices were quite high. I paid over $27 for the pictured breakfast and tip. That would be fine if the food was great but it was average. The pancakes have always been rather dense and stiff instead of light and fluffy. The eggs and hash browns are not seasoned and lack flavor. The coffee is a notch better than typical cafe coffee, but nothing special. The service was warm and friendly. I'll be back but urge the owner or chef to explore new pancake recipes and season their other food.

A very quaint restaurant within Fort Ben. The building holds a lot of history and is very homey. The food was delicious! My boyfriend thought the biscuits were dry, but I did not so must be a personal preference. Coffee is self serve, which is different. Service was fast and employees were kind. We will be back!

Tried a new to us breakfast spot last weekend. I searched yelp for biscuits and gravy. We are biscuits and sausage gravy snobs. It's also important to have other great breakfast food as well. We drove about 20 minutes and hit a home run with Cafe Audrey at the Fort. We started with a biscuit and gravy from the sides menu. The gravy had lots of sausage and the biscuit was amazing. I had the French toast combo with a cinnamon topping and a cinnamon butter. It had a great crunch on the outside and very flavorful. Hubs had the pancake combo short stack. The pancakes are so big and you can taste the buttermilk in them. Some of the best around! He did say he would get regular butter next time instead of cinnamon butter. The hubs loved the serve yourself coffee. Our server was Ethan and was very welcoming when mentioning it was our first time there. He was very patient with us when deciding what to get. We also asked him what the building was originally. It's super cute with its exposed brick walls and wood floors. We will definitely be back as everything was great!

I love a quant little restaurant that gives off small town diner vibes. I like a simple breakfast and a nice cup of black coffee. Nothing fancy needed and this place doesn't disappoint. I got Audrey's special with eggs over easy, has browns (crispy), sausage (which appeared hand made patties), homemade biscuit (so soft and warm) - and love that the butter wasn't cold and hard it was pre whipped and SOFT! The coffee was a solid 7/10 which is all I ask for from a diner and like that you can grab a mug and choose from their selection at the "coffee bar/cart" area Food was a solid 8.2/10 And service was great

Do they have gluten free options and if so what do they offer ? Do they have dedicated gluten free prep arrears?

Hi Linda! We have a variety of gluten free options. We have GF bread, pancakes and French Toast. Omelets, Hash, and other egg dishes. We are not a gluten free kitchen and do not have a dedicated GF prep area, however.

    Open Easter? Time?

I'm not sure. I would think yes but I have asked to make sure.

Ziggi's is a chain coffee shop, but it's slightly smaller than that other coffee chain. (You know…read morethe one.) So I felt slightly better about kind-of-not-really-but-yes-sort-of supporting a local coffee shop. They have a drive-thru, but I parked and went inside to get my coffee. The Sundays were playing over the speakers when I entered, which is always a good sign. I just ordered a black cup of coffee -- they have medium and dark roast drip coffee. It was good coffee, and surprisingly, it got better as it got cooler. I've never had that happen before! Usually, black coffee gets more bitter as it sits, but not so with Ziggi's. They sell a variety of baked goods, packaged cookies, premade breakfast burritos, as well as other beverages that aren't coffee, like smoothies, teas, and something called Energy Infusions. In fact, these kinds of drinks make up the majority of their menu, and their menu didn't even have regular coffee on it. I had to ask if they even sell drip coffee, and indeed they do. The people who work here were very friendly and super efficient. The location is great -- right off the I-70.

There are a variety of tables, also some comfy corner chairs. You order at the counter then they'll bring food to you. We all got (plain) coffee. There's a small sugar station on the end of the counter, but you have to ask for cream. I also told a staff member none of us had been there before, and asked were there coffee refills (since the rest was specialty coffee drinks) or do we pay? She said we can have one refill if we come up. My friends got gluten free egg/biscuit sandwiches. The hubs got a crepe with strawberries, bananas and more in it. I ordered the Galette Bretonne - which is described as "a savory light Buckwheat crepe with City ham, Gruyere cheese, with sunny side up egg" and also comes with a side salad. Our food came fairly quickly. The crepe was visually pretty. The biscuit sandwiches looked like they had nice fluffy biscuits (and, gluten free!) - but they were on the small side (smaller than an egg mcmuffin). My galette looked nice but not like the photo (see pics of mine & one from their web) - and the egg inside was well done, definitely not sunny side up or even medium. I don't mind harder cooked eggs, but the whole effect was very dry, so I went to the counter to ask for some syrup. The server told me that he would have to charge me for it. I said fine, yes please, because my dish is so dry it's unedible without it. So he went back in the kitchen and did bring me out a small side dish of syrup (see also pic of that, for size). I had my credit card ready, but he said "this one's on me." I thanked him and sat down to eat. ... and yes, that syrup was just the trick to make the dish delicious! So this is the thing that makes a whole experience "meh" as opposed to "really nice": Between me & my hubs, our food and plain coffees were $42. (My friends paid separately for theirs.) For that price and just counter service, if a guest asks for a small side of syrup for the food, there should not be a side charge. I think the server who gave it to me realized that (but I would have paid it anyway because the meal was just too dry without it) ... But here's the thing - there was another staff member at the counter when my server gave me that little side of syrup. She heard him say "no charge this time," and her expression absolutely changed, and she looked mad that he did not charge me, and like she was about to say something (but didn't). Guess what? I absolutely saw that. And I totally feel like she was not only mad, but also that he might get reprimanded for it. (Might I add, we were also there when it was NOT busy at all, so there was nothing about the atmosphere that was rushed or hectic - although that souldn't matter, either.) And yes, of course when I went back to the table, I relayed that story to my other 3 companions. A little (little!) customer service goes a long way. And also is easily a deciding factor of whether or not a place gets a revisit. There are so many other places to try. #ReviewsByRL

It's actually a rather beautiful campus that seems to have really perked up this area of Binford Boulevard. I'd been curious about Capstone Cafe ever since I saw it pop up as a church offering. It's located on the south wing of the campus and is clearly marked. The entire church has quite a few accessible parking spots as they have a defined ministry for children with disabilities. I will admit this is part of why I wanted to support Capstone - as an adult with a disability, I feel strongly about churches that work to be inclusive of those of us with disabilities. They also do have an automatic door, though it actually was open when I arrived since they were bringing items in/out. Capstone Cafe is essentially a little coffee house. The nearest comparison might be The Haverstick, though this is not really defined as a "co-working" space. That said, as I arrived a group had gathered at one table and appeared to either be working or studying. It's a really comfortable space for either one, though I didn't see plug-ins around and I'm not sure if they offer wifi. The first thing I noticed about Capstone, though, was the sense of welcome. It was immediate and it felt very genuine. Several people were present decorating for the holidays and there was a sense of hospitality everywhere I turned. I had one person turn around from what she was doing and open the door for me and I was greeted by at least 3-4 people working in the church. However, in case you're wondering, it didn't have an agenda to it. The employee working was also super friendly. She showed me both of their menus (drinks and food) and other things around like snacks. They keep things pretty simple here and they support local roasters including Indie Coffee Roasters, Tinker, and Limelight. I ordered a 16-ounce drip coffee (Tinker) for $2.75. I also opted for a grilled cheese weaving together gruyere and mild American for $4.00 (I think it might have actually been $4.25 as I'm pretty sure I paid $7 total - surprisingly, it also included a small serving of Broad Ripple Chip Co. chips). Regardless, it was a definite value to me. They offer a variety of drinks including a variety of coffee variations, teas, and hot chocolate along with soft drinks. They also have smoothies and fountain sodas. They have a breakfast and lunch menu - it's definitely on the lighter side including breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, a panini, a grilled cheese, a soup and sandwich combo, turkey chili, some baked goods, some chip varieties, and a handful of other options. Everything is reasonably priced and you can easily pick up a light lunch here for under $10 and all of their coffee options are under $5 with the highest price I saw being $4.50. There are tables around Capstone and a few tables spaced out around this particular wing of the church. Between the church, the school, and Capstone this place stays steady if not busy. I'll admit that the 5-star is possibly generous as it might build up unreasonable expectations for what is truly just a simple church-based coffeehouse type shop that keeps things simple and focuses on hospitality. The thought that kept coming back to me was that this felt like actual ministry. In some churches, this type of operation either feels like a "business," which makes me feel icky, and other times feels like nothing more than a "gotcha" opportunity. This felt like actual ministry and I really, really liked it. Admittedly, the hours are not the most convenient for me during the week. I happened to have taken a day off work and wanted a place to relax. This was perfect. However, they do also offer Saturday and even Sunday hours (I'm assuming in conjunction with their morning worship). While I expected to appreciate Capstone Cafe, it actually exceeded my expectations in both hospitality and actual quality of offerings. The employee was friendly and helpful and welcoming, the coffee was delicious, the grilled cheese hit the spot, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. I may not be back as often as I'd like, but I'll definitely be back.

It's a lovely touch. The Benedict had perfectly crispy bacon and so much asparagus. The egg yolks were perfectly runny and the hollandaise had great flavor. I picked the house salad with champagne vinaigrette for the side and enjoyed that as well. I tried the gravy on some of the sourdough bread and it had a great flavor.
