I have driven by this place for years and never stopped in. On a random Sunday decided to try it out. Upon entering the first thing that stuck out is how COLD it was inside. It was a beautiful day and man it was freezing inside. I had to go to the car and grab a jacket. You order at the counter and it is similar to Penn Station but a bit fancier and pricier. I ordered a barbecue chicken sub which has coleslaw and it was more coleslaw than meet and was pretty flavorless. I may have just ordered the wrong thing but I did ask the cashier if it was good and he said excellent, so I don't know. I did eat there but it was so cold I wasn't able to really sit and enjoy. Just overall not a great experience but maybe if you order something else, it would be better. read more

The impossible cheesesteak is made with plant based meat and comes with mushrooms, onions and the option for sweet or hot peppers. I opted for provolone cheese instead of the white American cheese. This is the second location of Capriotti's I have had a sandwich from, having previously visited the Greenwood location. I recognized the interior with their brick wall and real wood paneling plus the trendy lighting. I was in a hurry and knew I could do lunch in under 20 minutes here. They were not crowded at all on a Monday at noon. Service was quick with no waiting and food promptly provided. I ordered the Classic Cheesesteak with sweet peppers and no mushrooms. I love how they ask you what you want on your sandwich. The sandwich was excellent and the sweet peppers were sweet. I visited the restroom and found everything was okay except for a few bits of paper towels on the floor, but otherwise the restroom was stocked and clean. The sandwiches are a little pricier than your typical sandwich chain, but they are so worth it for the quality of ingredients and taste. The bread alone is worlds above what you'd expect. Great spot to hit for quick bite when you're running errands around Castleton. They have a variety of meat options, quite an assortment of veggie/plant-based options, sweet and hot peppers, and cold and hot options - so there's something for everyone. The Bobbie is their award-winning Thanksgiving-inspired sandwich and it is wonderful in the winter with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. They roast a whole turkey fresh every day! This place is OK. The counter service was excellent and the food tasted pretty good. However, it is quite expensive for what you get. We paid $34 for a half sandwich and soup, a medium sandwich, side, and 1 drink. This was the first time at this location. We were greeted by Eric with a friendly hello-how can I help you? Can I recommend anything to you. What do you like hot or cold. So he told me to get the Capastrami on it was pastrami, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing. I loved it, but it was a little greasy. Dave got Grilled Italian-Genoa salami,capocollo, Prosciutto, provolone cheese, onion, lettuce, and tomato. He said it was very good. We will go back to this location. Greta vegetarian options here! They have a cold turkey, impossible cheesesteak, and chicken cheesesteak. All with vegetarian meats. The impossible and chicken cheesesteak are really good. Especially the chicken, and how they get the texture just right on the griddle. They have a variety of meat based sandwiches too, with side options of soup, chips, and cookies. Inside, there's about 12 tables and chairs. They have online ordering too, which is quite convenient. Parking lot can get busy, with other food places in the same area, but people are usually popping in and out. read more

I think this place has a solid set of fast food deli sandwiches. Their cheesesteak is even decent I am from PA so I know what a Philly cheesesteak is and I have just stopped getting them unless I'm in PA but will occasionally get one here. I went through a journey to get this food. I work at the hospital and I told my Dasher where to bring it. What felt like 26 minutes into my 30 minute lunch after it was "delivered", I found it at the wrong entrance. Thanks Dasher. That had nothing to do with my Capriottis. I ordered the Capastrami sandwich. Just the way it comes. I'm a fan of anything with coleslaw and Russian dressing. It's delicious! There's few sub shops that stand out among the many out there to choose from but I'm SO happy to see a Caps in town!! They're the dominant sub shop in Vegas, where I discovered them while living there a short while, and for good reason, everyone who tries them loves them! They use thanksgiving style pulled turkey meat on their Homemade turkey ( my fav. With peppers added) The subs are huge too, definitely get more than you pay for considering a small is 8" it's still a big meal or two meals! Or have them cut it and share, all their subs are made to order. Their beef is freshly cooked hot off the grill, tender and delicious. I love Capriotti's! I've actually never had a sandwich, but everyone I've ordered them for, loves them. I always get the wagyu and Bleu salad with either the gorgonzola vinaigrette or the balsamic and it is delicious. On this visit, my fiancé had a regular sandwich, which was big, but he wished he had ordered a large. Their app is very easy to use and you'll get special offers with it. Plus, you'll get to skip the line and have your food waiting for you. I've always had great service with take out. On this occasion, we dined in. My usual "go-to" sandwich here is the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (which is really good) but today I tried their new French Dip sandwich. Capriotti's French Dip sandwich is the best I've had in many years! Tender Wagyu beef, a nice fresh roll and just the right amount of cheese along with a flavorful au jus is what makes this sandwich stand out. My wife enjoys their American Wagyu & Bleu salad and says it is also "a step above" the normal salad you can get at most fast casual restaurants. Sandwiches are always great. Tried most of the menu and they all rule for the variety offered. Some like the Capistrami need to be consumed in one sitting because the coleslaw and dressing will make them soggy, but something like the Bobbie you can get a giant one and eat on for a while. Have to reccomend the Capriottis app though. You earn 10$ after ever five sandwiches or so, can order ahead and just pick up. Really just ok to me but to be fair and honest my husband loved he's cheese steak . To be even more honest he has never not loved a cheese steak . I had the roast beef with American cheese not provolone it was ok but nothing to rave about . The beef was nicely rare but the sandwich was made oddly the lettuce and tomatoes were on top not in the sandwich . The bread was that soft , I'm really white bread not French or Italian , bread . I only are half my small sandwich the other half is in the fridge waiting for it's day of execution . I should explain we had take out my husband works near this place so he picked up dinner . I've been to Capriotti's in Vegas. I had no idea they had any locations in Indianapolis. I was excited to see they did. Their signature sub is called the "Bobbie" which is essentially Thanksgiving dinner on a hoagie. Its worth trying if you never have...but my regular sandwich is the standard Philly Cheese steak. Lots of places have cheese steaks but either they're bland...or there's too much bread....or they put weird ingredients on it. Its hard to find a place that does a great, simple cheese steak like Philly. Capriotti's is the real deal. Its going to be hard to drive by here without popping in for one of these =) read more

Stopped in today for lunch. Extremely nice staff, helped answer our questions. We settled on trying the steak and cheese and chicken and cheese. The sandwiches were very good, probably the best steak/chicken and cheese we've had around Indy. My son said the hot peppers were almost too much for him. We all liked how everything was well chopped and cooked together allowing all the flavors to meld. Definitely and return. Make sure you download their app to get your points. I was soo happy to be up in Castleton and caught a glimpse of this place. It's one of my favorites when I travel to Las Vegas, and now there's one 20 minutes from my house.The day I saw this in Indianapolis I might have wept a little... for joy. Ignore the menu. Just walk up and say you want the Bobby Love. Nothing else on the menu matters. Let's talk a little bit about this sandwich. I made a rookie mistake of ordering the medium - 12 inches of turkey and stuffing goodness, but way more than I could eat. Next time I'll order the small. It came to me in a paper bag wrapped in butcher paper, and it took everything I had in me not to rip into this until I was at home. The "grand reveal" - when I sat down and gently took my sandwich out of the bag and unwrapped it was like opening Christmas presents.. I didn't know what it was going to look like but I wanted to find out right away. Before me sat this wonderful looking sandwich with stuffing layered between the chewy sub bun. Dollops of red streak across the stuffing showing me where the cranberry goodness was hanging out. I consumed the first half without dissecting it because I wanted to taste it how it was meant to be enjoyed. The turkey flavor came though in each bite along with cranberry and thyme stuffing. Something kind of tangy also hit me, and I later identified it as mayo. While this seems strange, fight the urge to ask them to hold it because it balances the favors out perfectly. This truly was thanksgiving on a plate and something I'm going to want again pretty soon. The freshness of the turkey came through, and as I tore apart the second half, I was pleased to see it was real turkey... Not slices.. And there was a healthy amount. When I walked in, the employee at the cash register must have known I was a first timer, because he jumped in to assist to show me the different sandwich sizes. Without barely looking at the menu, I decided on the original cheesesteak. I added mayo, lettuce, and hot peppers. Made it a combo and added chips and soda. My sandwich was EXCELLENT. Seriously. It was hot and cheesy and spicy and messy and all of the other amazing adjectives you want in a sandwich. The bread was fresh and soft. I'll definitely be back. Try this place. My go-to game day snack isn't typically sandwiches, but we used Capriotti's catering for our Super Bowl party this year and it totally changed my outlook! These may be my new go-to for any event. Capriotti's offered a variety of large group options such as sandwich trays, a meatball bar, salads, sides and desserts. We went with the large Sample Party Tray, a couple of sides and a large cookie and brownie tray. My favorite sandwich was definitely "The Bobbie" which is one of their most popular one ones. It's got turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. If you're thinking to yourself that sounds like Thanksgiving, you're right, and it's delicious. We also tried the Cole Turkey, which is slow-roasted turkey, cole slaw, provolone cheese, Russian Dressing and Mayo. This was definitely a close second for me, because I'm a big fan of putting cole slaw on sandwiches. Some others we tried are the Italian sub and the Slaw Be Jo. Overall everything we tried was absolutely delicious, and I love how unique they make all their subs to keep it interesting! I'll be stopping by for lunch sometime since it's nearby. read more
