Went for brunch with a girlfriend and got the pancetta eggs benedict. wasn't horrible but also wasn't the best... i typically get a medium poached egg and while it was medium, the egg itself was a bit wet from the cooking method they used. (one of those steamer pans i assume). I don't believe that it was homemade hollandaise either but I could be wrong. Sides were potato's and fruit which I did like. Service was good, our waitress was attentive and polite, I have no issues with the service at all. We went first thing on a Friday so it was no busy as all and for a little we were the only ones in the restaurant so it was quiet. I've previously been to Cafe Celeste but they have recently moved into a beautiful location. Which is right around the corner from our home! I booked reservations for tonight and when you walk in it's warm and extremely inviting. The last location they were at I found was very cold and uninviting so this is a huge plus for them. Tonight we ended up going with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon which was a great pairing with our appetizer and dinner. The appetizer we went with was the sausage crostini which was wonderful - I did find it odd that it was 5 pieces of bread which we had to decide who would get the last piece and we both wanted it. I had the chipotle rose with penne and chicken and it was great. Nice and spicy when I think of chipotle. My husband had the $44 lamb and pesto cream penne. He said the pasta was phenomenal but the lamb he said was not good in anyway. He said it was extremely bland. Not even pepper or salt to season it. Which sucks as it is one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. We will stick to just pasta if we came again. read more

It's a cute little cafe in a decent strip mall. The food is fresh and really good, it's a great place to go for brunch or a late lunch. I've been a couple times and the service has been decent both times. I had pancakes I think once, and gnocchi and both times my food was very good. We had a very pleasant experience for dinner. Right now they have a promotion where kids eat free and we decided to give it a try as a family. I personally have had brunch here a couple of times, and it has always been wonderful. Tonight we sat on the patio and really enjoyed the wonderful music an atmosphere. Our server was kind and working hard. It was very quiet when we first came in, but picked up throughout the evening. The kids passed the dishes were very generous portions. My daughter said it was the best pasta ever and my son gobbled every last bite. His meatball (which was literally the size of a baseball) was not punched in, but when reminded, he got a blazing warm one and they took it off the bill. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his gluten-free pasta dish. My dish could have easily been shared by two people, and all of the seafood that was in it was cooked perfectly. I took my mom to Cafe Celeste for Mother's Day brunch, and we had an excellent meal. It's nice that this restaurant is on the east side of Sherwood Park, there aren't a lot of dining options that are close to my mom's home. Making reservations was easy, and we were seated right on time. My mom and I both got the eggs benedict, so we have a small sample size to judge our meals on, but it was really delicious. I'm picky about my eggs benedict, and Cafe Celeste met and exceeded my expectations. The accompanying potatoes were seasoned well and we both cleared our plates. Our service was prompt and friendly, and I left feeling like I want to return for another meal. The only (very small) negative I would note is that the atmosphere of the restaurant is more suited for later dining than brunch. The lighting was slightly dimmed and it smelled very strongly of garlic, likely for delicious meals later in the day, but it just didn't feel like a "brunch" destination for me. read more

So nice to have a good restaurant on the east end of Sherwood Park. Most are on the west side. Decore is kind of modern and open inside. Not huge. Nice that they retained the centrepiece dark wood bar. The eggs Benny was good and nicely garnished, but the pancakes were exceptional! Best pancakes I've had in a long time. Pastas are good. Service was superb: I wasn't expecting the attention to detail, it was first class. We didn't need to ask, they seemed to know what we needed. I would say this place is a cut above. They should consider linen napkins to top it off. They lost the nice washrooms from the previous restaurant, so the newly installed basic ones could use a refurbishing to go better with the ambiance. Currently my favorite Italian place. Seriously so good. Portion sizes are pretty big for the price.

It started bad when we arrived and discovered that they did not have our reservation. The osso bucco was warm on the outside and cold (bone marrow frozen) on the inside. The meat must have been tender at one time but was not so tender at the table as well as dry. It seemed like it was cooked a number of days ago, frozen and reheated. This is not what I expected from this restaurant and especially at the price it charged. The waitress was pleasent and did her best but we will not go there again. read more

Went with 2 friends on Thursday evening, reservation was made for 3 of us at 615pm. I arrived last, my 2 friends were already seated. I had to wait by the door for the hostess for about 5 mins to get seated, as I couldn't see where they were. They had arrived a bit early, 10 mins prior. They had menus on the table, restaurant was about half full. We waited a half hour for drinks, two arrived, my wine was a few mins later. Another 15 mins rolled by then we could finally order food, then bread was brought to the table. We all ordered pasta, Cinque Fromaggio, Truffle linguini with chicken, and I got the Linguini Carbonara. The Truffle Linguini had a fishy taste to it, which was odd considering no seafood was in that dish, and my Linguini Carbonara was so bland that even the fresh ground pepper and powdered parmesan (Kraft Parmesan??? Not even real stuff) on the table couldn't help. We had to preorder our next round of drinks early every time since they took so long to arrive. After the meal, there was another round of drinks, then we requested the bills. My friend was charged for 10 wines (she had 2 or 3), which she almost didn't catch since she doesn't usually look at the bills. Waitress corrected it. All in all we were there for 2 hours. I had one glass of wine and my pasta, and paid about $50. I could have gotten better pasta and Boston Pizza My friends have both been there before and said this was unusual service, but it definitely didn't sit well with me, I will not be going back. I can't believe that I haven't heard more about this little gem tucked away in an obscure area of Sherwood park. It was recommended to me and a friend after our massages close by. Really glad she did. Super cute but small inside. I could see how this place would be full on a weekend. However, on a Tuesday at lunch it wasn't too full. We had an incredibly charming server who was super knowledgeable on the wine and food menu. Helped us choose a bottle of wine which was amazing and help us on the menu choices. Menu is pretty much standard Italian fair with the usual amount of selections and diversity between appetizers, salads, entrees and pastas. I decided on the seafood pasta and my friend who was more peckish feeling choice the cheese plate. Both were outstanding in taste and presentation. So much high quality seafood packed in the bowl and a huge portion. I only ate half and the other half did me nicely the day after. And the cheese plate looked fantastic. To me, this is well worth the price they charge for their food. Definitely will be back. read more

We went there for our Anniversary was told the food was really good . But we were really disappointed. Started with the water that had lipstick marks . Should have walked out at that moment but didn't . The bread was very dry that they gave before our meal .Thank goodness it was free . The Calamari was dry and over cooked . I ordered the seafood dish , i asked for extra creamy . She brought us Parmesan cheese , it was kraft parmesan ! I asked the waitress if they had real parmesan cheese . She said no. Seriously how do you think they make Alfredo sauce ??? Plus with the prices of the dishes i would expect real parm . My meal came to me like a soup was not a cream pasta at all . The waitress never bothered to tell me that . However the seafood was good . My husband got chicken fettuccine he said was ok. The noise was ridiculous dishes banging , staff yelling . Don't get me wrong, the food here is delicious. Our server was amazing. But it's really expensive. Over $50 for two basic pastas. There is no bread with your meal either. Also it's quite a small place, no really cozy or intimate seating, unless you get that one booth. To pay that much money and leave hungry is not acceptable. My companion and I both finished our meals, and had to go elsewhere for reasonably priced dessert. But hey, if you are rich and enjoy elbow to elbow dining, go for it. Food is awesome. read more

I went to the new location of Cafe Celeste. It's a very cute boutique restaurant with nice decor and a very comforting atmosphere. Our server, Josh, was very pleasant and friendly and came to our table just the right amount of times. We had the meat and cheese plate and it was excellent--more food than we were expecting for the price, so we were pleasantly surprised. It was a nice combinations of assorted olives, cheeses, meats, apple and bread. I would definitely order it again. I'm looking forward to going back to try other items on the menu. Pros: Very good sauces. Quality ingredients. Decent portions. Nice atmosphere. Waiter was personable and efficient. Cons: The place was busy and a second server would have moved things along better. Price, like everything in Sherwood Park, was high for the category, especially wine which was 6 or 9 ounce glasses and bottles only, nothing in between. This is one of the few restaurants in town that serve a clam linguine & I was not disappointed. I'd have added a photo but it smelled too delicious not to dig in & there was nothing left when I was done. Highly recommend this quaint little place. We were there on a Tuesday night & while there were a number of ppl there it never did get full. I blame the cold weather. I have no doubt with food like this they are hard to get into without reservations most nights, and probably impossible most weekends. Prices are comparable for a higher end place and certainly not unreasonable as portion sizes are generous. Our waitress was an absolute darling & let us spend the entire evening chatting, regularly topping up our water. The bathroom room is adorable and super clean. The decor beautiful. The room size is small. So either make a reservation or go early...but definitely go if you want some really good pasta. I don't often give a full 5 but this place deserved it. read more

my daughter and myself ate at this establishment on the 25th may, we were so looking forward to our meal together, we had a great night and the service was excellent. Unfortunately the food was below par, our starter was nice with lot's of cheese. I had ordered the pasta with baked lobster and sauce, they told me that the lobster was baked into the meal so there was no shell to speak of, this dish was 25.99 which did not sound too bad as lobster is quite expensive. I could hardly find any lobster and when i did the meat was in morsel pieces that you could hardly taste it at all. We all know that lobster is not a cheap sea/food but come on, it would have been nice to find even 3 chunks that were big than 7 or so little morsels that i found eventually. It is a pleasant restaurant and as i said the service was great, please try and give the next customer more lobster so you can actually call it Lobster baked pasta!! Amazing! Just checked this restaurant out for my first time tonight. Our group had the Sautéed Calamari and Prawn Ali Olio to start, both were amazing! The prawns and the calamari were cooked perfectly. For our mains, my friend and I had the signature pasta - one with white wine sauce and one with tomato sauce. HUGE servings, lots of seafood (crab legs, calamari, mussels, prawns, baby clams) again cooked perfectly. I wish I had taken a picture because it's quite an impressive dish. We had tons leftover to take home with us. The other two in our party had the dolce curry pasta and the maiale marsala pork. The dolce curry pasta is on the sweeter side, I was able to try some and really enjoyed it. My boyfriend said the pork was well cooked, and the sauce was delicious. ALL of the pasta was perfectly cooked and covered in tasty sauce. Service was great as well as the atmosphere! We will definitely be back. read more
