The only reason why their are loosing a star is that it is cafeteria style. I much rather be served then go around like I am at highschool. Otherwise the ambiance is decent. It is clean and warm. There are great photos on the walls. Just not somwhere that you would linger to eat. I noticed that people were mostly on thier phones rather thant conversing at the table. It is unfortunate. The staff however were friendly and awesome. So enthusiastic and helpful. Made me glad to be there. Basically all their pasta is made in house and they generally have 2 short noodles and 2 long noodles. You pick what pasta you want and then pair a sauce to go with it. I picked for lack of knowing what it is called squiggly noodles. There is a whole bunch of sauces -vegatarian, spicy Italian, Meat, 4 cheese, Alfredo, etc. For me I chose the spicy Italian. My husband and daughter chose meat and 4 cheeses. The pasta was ready when you brought it back to you table. It was piping hot. And delicious! Great bite to the pasta and that sauce is amazing! This place has been a staple for me growing up. Before or after hockey, grabbing some delicious pasta with my dad. You can tell it's high quality food. The pasticcio is so good, baked in cheese with different cuts of pasta. All the sauces complete the dish and they let you put multiple on. My favourites are the Hot Italian Sausage which has just the right amount of kick, and the four cheese which is really rich. Even with a line, you get your food quickly. You can eat in and get refills with the large portion size which was great for a growing hockey player. I still come here, though not as much as the prices have crept a touch high. Family day is in a couple of weeks, so the program for the county is being advertised with their special for that day. Simple dining space layout. Bright. Clean. In the past, I always stopped in on my way home, as it's a quick stop to get decent amount of food. Today was perfect for a lunch stop & go. Grabbed some cheesy bread and a box of pasta (choose your own pasta & sauce) with Alfredo sauce. It's definitely got some good cheese or that parm was more than I thought she was adding. I'm always frustrated when I go to a "Pasta" restaurant and the menu hasn't progressed beyond the palette of a 12 year old. This place has a very pedestrian menu, your standard red or cream sauce with "exotic" add-ons like meatballs. Sorry folks, this may have passed for pasta in the 90's but doesn't cut it today. Large portions don't make up for an uninspired menu. There are plenty of pasta places in the Edmonton area that have matured beyond basic tomato and cream sauces, search one of them out if you want adult pasta. read more

While I do love me a good bowl of pasta, I can't quite say I was fully invested in one I grabbed there recently. I ate there a few months ago only to have the same sort of experience. I figured it was an off day for them but sure enough: equal disappointment when I went back again. The staff there were pleasant and efficient, but the product itself left a lot to be desired. My favorite thing to order is the large size pasta and get them to mix the meat sauce and cheese sauces together for me, they should give that mixture a name like dirty cheese sauce or something, because it's just that good. let's make that a thing. I've heard a decent amount of things about pasta pantry from friends. When I was driving through sherwood park I decided to stop by and pick up some dinner. When I walked in I was super confused and overwhelmed with how to order and what they had. There was two young adults working behind the counter. A girl and a guy who instantly were showing and explaining how to order and what they liked. They ended up picking two pastas for me which one was like shells and long fettuccine like noodles with a mix of four cheese sauce and spicy italian. With a place that you can come in and dine out I feel like you expect decent food but I was shocked! This was some of the best sauces I've ever had with pasta. I will definitely return and not only because the food was good BUT the staff was unbelievable. You don't see a lot of friendly staff in a place like this which is a breath of fresh air! read more

The staff are pleasant enough, even though they seem to universally dislike working there (I over heard two quietly complaining about the pay rate, and the "sexist" owner). What annoys me so much is that this place makes it's own pasta, yet always always always over cooks. It's called pasta, not paste! The sauces are kinda bland, and if those breaded chicken entrées are hand made in-house, then I'm the Pope. I know this because I am a fully qualified Chef, and I know exactly where they come from. It's called Lillydale's food processing factory. As a Chef, I am always outraged when restaurants buy products from suppliers and then claim that it's all made in-house! I really like this place! I have been quite a few times and have always enjoyed my food. You get to pick what type of pasta you'd like (they have some noodles or ones baked with cheese), as well as what pasta sauce you'd like and if you'd like any add-ons (meatballs, chicken). I always gets the penne with four cheese sauce. I have tried the meatballs before which are yummy. I also always get the Italian salad. This is sometimes hit and miss. Tonight it was done really well! Sometimes I find the dressing taste isn't consistent. They will also give you a bun with your order but I usually decline as I am too full. They have kids size all the way up to large. It's quick and efficient. You are able to eat in or take out. As I prepare to close another chapter of my life and say goodbye to my office in Sherwood Park, I made a list of restaurants and stores that I wanted to be sure to visit one more time. Guess what was top on the list? I've been coming to Pasta Pantry for many years. Before the major renovations a few years ago. And I'm so happy that the quality has remained the same. For the last 5 years, my Go-To dish has been the Pasticcio topped with Alfredo sauce and a meatball on the side. Everything is made in house and the meatballs are out of this world. Pasticcio is basically a few different types of pasta, mixed together with a red/meat sauce, topped with cheese and baked. Pasta Pantry goes the extra step to offer one of their delicious sauces on top. This week though, I discovered that they've added Mac & Cheese to their offerings! I had to give it a try. I had it with the 4 cheese sauce, but I would probably try it with Alfredo sauce next time. The pasta was cooked the way I like it, and the cheese was great. I will definitely be back for this. I usually get a small ceasar salad as well, but it's really not necessary - The pasta always fills me up. I also find their dressing a little heavy on the garlic. All the pastas are made fresh in house. The impressive pasta makers are right behind the counter, so if you have any doubts, they will quickly be squashed. Not just the pastas though.... everything is made fresh in house, and you can taste the difference that makes! The staff are super friendly, even during a lunch rush. Never having been to a pasta pantry but loving anything pasta, I decided to give it a try, it was my kind of restaurant, one where you can get your food and leave. Everything looked good and we got multiple different dishes. I felt like it was okay, the Cesar salad was a little bit garlicky, but it was good. The pasta itself was okay, but I felt like it was over priced and I could of went and sat down and had a full course pasta meal somewhere for what I paid there. But the meat balls and the rolls were amazing. I was disappointed about the lack of garlic bread though, I felt like any restaurant that sells pasta should have garlic bread! "Can we please get Pasta Pantry tonight?" was a common question in our family when I was growing up in Sherwood Park. Unfortunately, the Park is notorious for the amount of crappy chain restaurants it has; this is not one of them. It was a sad, sad day when this place closed down to move to its new location. And an absolutely jubilant one when it reopened. The extra space is great for the place, and the look is totally modernized. The food however, has remained the same: high quality at a low price. The pasta is made fresh, the sauces are made fresh, the buns are fresh, fresh, fresh, fresh... you get the picture. I rarely stray from my favourite: Pasticcio, but simply because it is absolutely delicious. How can you go wrong with 5 types of pasta cooked in cheese and meat sauce? The pasta is always good, and I usually go for the Spicy Italian Sausage sauce because of the spicy kick. Not only is the food great, but the service has always been friendly. A lot of the same faces from when I was in Junior High are still behind the counter now as I toil away at University. The staff is always ready with a smile and a kind word. I'm probably a bit biased because I grew up on the place but I'm not wrong when I say the food will leave you feeling satisfied. Seriously, you can't go wrong here, try it... try it now. read more

They have two additional sauces full of meat for extra cost. You can charge it with a salad and drink or not. There's so in and take out. Small and quaint family style. I would give it a 5 but when they moved to the larger location they lost something of it's more distinguishing characteristics. That being said, The pasta is all made right there and it's amazing! The salad is crisp, the staff helpful and friendly and the environment is trendy, clean and Italian in nature. It's all served deli style and they are licensed for that special date. The spicy sauce has a real flavourful bite, the alfredo sauce is nicely done and the meat sauce has lots of meat. Don't leave without trying the huge helping of tiramisu. read more

Food is decent but their pricing is terrible. If you decide to stay in their restaurant you can have unlimited pasta but if you take a "to-go" order they charge you the same amount but will only give you one box of pasta. If they want to limit the amount of food they give to their take-out customers but want to keep charging the same price I won't be returning for take-out. read more
