I mean WOW! I ordered the turkey wings, rice and gravy and double green beans (I'm trying to eat…read morehealthy lol). Everything was truly amazing. The beans and rice had a great spiced flavor and the stuffed turkey wings were just fall off the bone crazy good. When I was handed my to go order and it is heavier then you expected, you know your going to be happy and satisfied. As far as the service, the ladies behind the counter are just as happy as can be and you are greeted with a warm friendly smile. I wish I was in Lafayette longer because this would be my meal again and again. Yes go here and enjoy one of the best meals you will have.

We flew in to The Essence festival from California a few weeks ago and we drove down to try this…read moreplace. They only had a few meats left when we got there and one of them was the stuffed turkey wings, which was highly recommended. It was cool, but nothing like I expected. I thought it would be packed with flavor, but I needed that Louisiana red rooster hot sauce for the extra flavor which I thought would have been marinated in the meat. The star of the show was that okra seafood stew. That was a 10 out of 10 for me! We got the cabbage, but I have never in my life had sweet sugary cabbage. That threw me totally off! My brother loved it and it's definitely an acquired taste. Not for me at all. We had about three hours till closing, and there was a small line so the place does great business and people love it. If I were ever back in Lafayette, I would definitely come back to try something different.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.
