What a great find, as we were getting our taxes done and needed a recharge with a lunch, and we chose the right place. It is extremely clean inside which was impressive, also received a fantastic greeting, we received our Iced Tea quickly, and ordered our appetizer which was the small order of onion rings, these were definitely the best onion rings we've ever had, they were crispy, well seasoned and delicious, was surprised by the order the portion was huge. The fried soft shell crab dinner was freshly made, and again well seasoned, and the fried catfish! Wow great seasoning and light crisp breading. We came here recommended by Linda, and we're really glad we did! We had dinner, and the onions were homemade--you could see it and taste it. Our waitress, Billie (hopefully I got her name right), was really attentive, kind, and friendly. She made us feel at home. She let us know the food might take some time, but it didn't take longer than usual. My food was great, and my husband really enjoyed his meal too. The ambience is nice, and we were even welcomed by another guest, which shows how friendly everyone is, including regular customers. Overall, it was a great experience for us. The only small downside is that they don't offer a military discount, though we always tip our waitress generously read more

Why does it take 20+ minutes to get a salad when the place is not busy? The food was delicious, the service, not so much. When told 2 times that the pre-made salad is coming, maybe stop visiting with other patrons who are finished eating. My drink order was well over 15 minute wait and I was told 2 times it would be right out. When I told them to cancel the drink, they brought it anyway, with a piece of plastic film in it. It was explained that the syrup had to be opened, so some fell in. It happens, but I sent it back. Again, the food was excellent. read more

We stopped in to have a quick drink at the bar and did end up trying the Crawfish kickers which were similar to a hush puppy only with crawfish added, they were ok for an appetizer under ten dollars but I don't think they were made in house. I've added some pictures that don't do the outside deck area justice it looked lovely but it was too cold to sit outside that day so we sat in the bar area in the front. The reason for the three stars is the interior left a lot to be desired starting with the front lobby which was the bar area. It was simple but unfortunately had supplies piled up in one corner and stacks of paperwork on the end. It felt like you were either in a storeroom or somebody's office. The main dining room was also lack luster, basic tables and chairs you might find in a banquet hall and a food warmer station right in the middle. The service was okay. What really got me was the bill. It was thirty dollars for vodka and soda, a beer and that less than ten dollar appetizer. If we were paying for ambiance this place missed the mark. read more

Nothing. Owner is abusive to the employees as well as customers. Food took over an hour and a half to come out and when it did it was one plate at a time when at the table of 12, half ordered the same thing, so how hard is it to make and serve these at the same time. Most of us left without having dinner. Well NEVER go back. read more

Excellent service and food. We arrived close to closing time and we were greeted with the same great customer service as those who were already there. The owner was very personable and watched us as we walked to our car. Now for the food...it was amazing and very light. We all enjoyed it and will definitely be back soon. Just had a simple lunch out on their great deck. Caesar salad with shrimp was surprisingly good and they were generous with the delicious shrimp. The guys LOVED their PO Boys. Great hostess lady in the bar area giving us a list of "must do" while in the area. read more

Absolutely the worst dining experience I have had to date. Extremely slow ( we were there 3 hours) , cold food, wrong orders, orders not put into the kitchen.... The worst part was when the owner who had been there all night , but not assisting her staff, came over to the table and did not apologize, but instead became defensive and dismissive. We were never rude to the waitress. She was overwhelmed and trying to get through her shift. We just wanted them to know the issues and fix the problems. Horrible experience! read more

We had THE WORST experience at Pelican's. So many things went wrong, where do I even begin? First, our waitress was completely forgetful. We waited for a long time to put in our order and we had to ask for items multiple times. Then, she forgot to put in one of our orders. Once she put in our order, they took FOREVER to cook it. It was a hamburger steak which she said was PRE-MAID (disgusting) so that should not take long to cook AT ALL. We had all eaten our meal, waited around, paid, waited around some more and the hamburger steak was STILL not ready! After an hour of waiting, we had enough and went up to the kitchen asking where the hamburger steak was (still not ready). They would not offer to give the meal to use for free and when we spoke to the owner his response was, "Yeah it's always nice to complain, isn't it? Too bad the government has all my workers." EXCUSE ME, WHAT???? The restaurant was nearly empty so not having workers is not an excuse AT ALL. And so much for "the customer comes first". So on top of terrible service, the owner was rude to us. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING TO THIS RESTAURANT and we will NEVER be back! read more
