They did not honor the 2 for 1 breakfast as waiter Gustavo kept arguing that the group arrived after 10:20 a.m. Gustavo claimed that according to him he could not honor the promotion because the rest of the group arrived a few minutes late even though the group arrived at 9:27 a.m. Gustavo kept arguing and was very unprofessional and lacked customer service. Very disappointed on the lack of customer care from Gustavo and General Manager Emilio. We had the breakfast buffet and enjoyed their variety of foods but was disappointed on how much bees there was in the pastries and Asian area of the buffet. The restaurant is an open air restaurant and bees kept coming to our seat as well. It was absolutely disgusting seeing the bees on the donuts and croissants that my daughter wanted to eat but we couldn't because of the bees. The lines for the omelette station was ridiculously long despite having 2 omelette stations. The only thing worth eating in my opinion was the crepes from the crepe station where I was able to make my own. This is an expensive breakfast buffet so check out the selection and amount of bees you'd like to deal with before deciding on this restaurant. read more

We love to come to this buffet when visiting Vidanta.the kids like to try different things here. They like the crepe station. There's something for everyone here from American Breakfast to Mexican breakfast and even a sushi station. There's in door and outdoor seating and both are nice. Delicious Mexican breakfast buffet. Chilaquiles were yummy, asked for an over easy egg from omelette station and fruits and bakery items were fresh. It's huge so get coffee after you get your plate because it gets backed up due to COVID protocols. Try the green juice and simple oatmeal. We only ate here for the morning breakfast. Some of the restaurant manuals say that it's open in the evening for a dinner buffet but we were never able to make it during the times that it was allegedly open. This is a very nice place for breakfast as it's a buffet and there is such a large variety of items to choose from. The dining area is also very large and the wait staff are more than willing to move tables around to fit your group size needs. There is also outdoor seating if you'd like to catch some sun early in the morning to help bring you to life and get the day started. As far as range of items on the breakfast buffet which seemed to be a combination to accommodate the brunch crowd as well. There was fresh cut fruit, made-to-order omelettes and crepes, waffles, pancakes, bacon and several other types of meat and meat pastries, sushi, a large variety of real fruit juices and milk, ceviche, yogurt, sliced roast, fajitas, coffee/tea, toasts & breads w/ jam, real hot chocolate, brunch sandwiches, eggs of all kinds, vegetables, quiche, and so much more. It's well worth the price which is actually very inexpensive and a perfect way to start the day. Only one non-positive point, we kept making eye contact with the wait staff and called a few over to get us the check and it took about 20 minutes to get the check because they were trying to rearrange a table to meet the needs of one of their more "wealthier" clientele. We were about to get up and walk out when they finally came with the check. Also we had asked them to split the check up for the people of our party but they didn't. Cafe Del Lago is inside Vidanta and a great place for breakfast buffet if you are a guest vacationing here. They are open early and go until lunch time. It's easy to find and a short walk from the plaza. There's lots of seating indoors and outdoors, the wait time is just about ten minutes during its busiest times. They will find you a seat quickly and then you can hop over to the buffet. They have a variety of cuisines represented, we got some miso soup, sushi, eggrolls, shamal from the Asian station. They had empanadas, taco station, crepe station, lots of breakfast foods, cheese and meats, breads. There are some new things to try too. One of my favorite things is the wide selection of juice- orange, guava, pineapple, watermelon, beer juice and more. They also have a gluten free section, how thoughtful! There's also a bathroom inside Cafe Del Lago, which is nice. From here, it's easy to get to the pools for some relaxing later on. read more

Pretty delicious buffet!! Cafe Del Lago is one of the many restaurants located within the Vidanta Resort in Nuevo Vallarta. We were staying at The Grand Mayan onsite and were able to eat here twice during the week. This is a breakfast buffet with indoor or outdoor seating. Outdoor seating includes views of the lake and ocean. There is such a huge variety of food, it is hard to list all of it here but I will try: - fresh fruit - salad - omelette station made to order - bacon, sausage - hash browns - poached eggs - enchiladas, chiliquiles, empenadas, ham & cheese croquettes - large variety of breads including bagels, croissants, mexican breads - waffles, french toast, pancakes - juice station including alcohol to make a bloody mary drink - milk, chocolate milk - cereal - fried rice, egg rolls, sushi rolls - assortment of desserts The staff is attentive and will remove dirty plates as soon as you are finished and ready to go back for seconds...or thirds. Staff are nice at the table area who help you with drinks except for the one who makes the crepes she is actually stationed at the desserts area, she showed her face how she badly hate her job. The food is okay but not so great. My husband like the meats here so tasty, juices not sure if its all fresh but you can barely taste the flavor I felt like it is just water and dropped some fruits on it. Their fruits are good and sweet but nothing to compare to philippine fruits I say if you are a filipino you know what I'm saying. The breads its so so... Located by the Grande Luxxe tower 1, this buffet is surrounded by lakes and vivid, lush plants. Personally, I love buffets, but only if the buffet has what I need. This buffet has it all. You can either sit indoors or outdoors, but I prefer to sit outdoors to enjoy the surroundings. One thing don't like about sitting outside is the birds. They have these black birds that swoop down and try to grab your food when you are not looking. I have seen them taking sugar packets, and even sitting down and drinking the milk that was put out for coffee. You always have to keep an eye out for them. They have every kind of juice you can imagine. Guava, orange, pineapple, and watermelon are my favourites. They taste so much fresher than what we have back in Canada. Of course they still have other drinks, like coffee, milk, and hot chocolate. They have all kinds of food. Buns, yogurt, jello, hash browns, traditional Mexican foods, roast beef, fruits and vegetables, hams and cheeses, and so many more choices. You can order omelettes with any topping you want. My favourite part of the buffet is the dessert part. They have crepes that are made fresh right in front of you! It is really well decorated, and they keep it very clean. I thought that was neat, not something I would have ever considered breakfast or to see at a breakfast buffet. They had a station for custom made omelettes and a station with a guy who made crepe's that you had to put your own filling into. Inside the Vidanta Resort. You can expect to see plenty sitting in the restaurant for the timeshare presentations but they are not in the way of your experience. Come early if you want fewer crowds and better selection. As expected, omelettes and the cooked items take time and can be very slow when busy as there is only one chef at each station. Good fruit and pastry selection and a number of juices available. Large restaurant so seating shouldn't be an issue no matter the day or time. Price is what you expect at a resort like this so make sure you go hungry. read more

I am not a buffet person. In fact I hate buffets. That being said we were treated to a free breakfast here. And I proceeded to buy two more breakfast after that. It was not only good it was fantastic. Multiple fresh juices to start. I love guava! They had anything and everything you could want. Multiple stations with food being grilled to order. Sushi, desserts, smoked salmon, empanadas -- Flor de calabaza! If you by the breakfast package it comes out to approximately $15 for the breakfast. Worth every cent. This buffet has an absolute ton of selections. Omelette bar, waffle makers, tons of sweets, sushi, local cuisine and every kind of juice you could ever need and coffee. The staff keeps your coffee topped off and plates cleared immediately after you're done eating. It was kinda gross but these birds were swooping in and snagging food off tables and knocking off the napkins from the coffee creamer and drinking it. This place is where they take you to give you the "free breakfast" for timeshare meetings. So there are timeshare people everywhere doing there sales pitch to people. read more

Cafe del Lago is the big breakfast location for the Grand Mayan, as well as the other resorts on the property. It is only open for breakfast and lunch (7:00am-12:30pm), but apparently they also hold a couple special dinners a week here (mexican buffet, american cookout/barbecue, etc.), but we haven't done any of those. As far as breakfast goes, the buffet is impressive, and very reasonably priced. I think our bill came to less than $20pp, and the spread was impressive. Not Vegas caliber, but the best hotel buffet I've ever had by a good margin. We were there on a Sunday mid-morning during the off season, but despite the low attendance, there was plenty of staff and plenty of food. Some of the more lunch-y items were still coming out, but there were dozens of options including (but certainly not limited to) salads and fruits, breads and muffins, omelettes-to-order, lunch items like thai wraps, sushi, and fried rice, and desserts. They also had a great selection of juices (try the 'green juice', I know it has spinach in it which sounds weird, but it's awesome and doesn't actually taste like spinach). I can only do all-you-can-eat once every other day or so without feeling terrible, but we hit this place a couple times on our visit and were happy to do so. read more

We love this place and have been coming for years. Lots of food - all very good. Fruit is flavorful and fresh. You can get eggs made in front of you. There's Mexican, French, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Lots of juices to choose from papaya to melon to green and everything in between. They make sushi fresh as well as the lanyard waffles and also the fried empanadas that come with meat or cheese or chicken. It's all good and whether you sit inside or out, it's a beautiful setting and the staff is very accommodating. If you eat later in the morning the brunch is discounted. Such a huge assortment of breakfast foods for the buffet! Everything was fresh & clean, made right in front of you for the most part! Everything was delicious & so filling. The juice was freshly squeezed & there was all different kinds. The fruit was fresh & juicy. Our waiter, Jose Abel, wasn't the nicest. He didn't know that we understood Spanish, so when we asked for more juice, he said, "they need to get up & get their own juice". Other than his rudeness, it was a great breakfast buffet! read more
