What a great restaurant find this was! We were in Puerto Vallarta for a cruise stop, and had walked over to the Marriott to explore. We noticed the beautiful ocean views of the house restaurant, so taking the advice of other Yelp reviews, we decided to eat our lunch here before heading back. It's very clear that most (if not all) of the patrons are guests of the hotel, but the host was gracious when we explained that we were visiting and seated us at a 2 person table facing the ocean (million dollar view for sure). Our server was Veridiana, and she was patient in explaining the menu (there is a menu QR code, but it took forever to load it, so she brought us two books). We started with chips with guacamole and salsa ($130). The chips were extra thick and crunchy, not really salted which is how we like it (side note...what exactly is 'Restaurant style' tortilla chips at the grocery store anyway?...it can mean like this, or extremely thin). The guacamole was OK (it was better as a topping for tacos and burritos than a chip dip), and the salsa was pico de gallo. We ordered two entrees: Shrimp fajitas $360 - felt a little like a poser, ordering a tex-mex dish at an actual restaurant in Mexico, but hey they offered. It was really good. Not too generous with the shrimp (probably 10 pieces), but they were plump and well seasoned, with the right amount of oiled vegetables (thickly sliced onions, yellow and red peppers that had been well grilled on all sides before putting on the sizzling pan). It came with the same guacamole and pico described above, but also with crema and some nice mashed pinto beans. There were 4 flour warm flour tortillas (the soft and pliable kind...don't know really how to describe it, but very different than what you can get in an American grocery store). Put together, it made for 4 good sized soft tacos, with wonderful flavor. Beef Quesadillas $235 - really in the appetizer section but my wife ordered it for an appetizer. It was simple, using well seasoned sliced steak and melted chihuahua cheese in the same flour tortilla. It was pretty dry by itself, but dressed up really well with the same combo of guac, pico, and beans. I wanted an orange soda so ordered a Mirinda ($65) and my wife got a Jugo Pina ($75) which is a non alcohol cocktail of orange juice, pineapple juice and grenadine. Service was good, and there was no hurry for us to vacate...so enjoyed the views and sunshine. It made for a marvelous lunch. The total came to about $865 pesos or $48 USD. This is a solid spot. Great lunch menu, super friendly service. I'd suggest the club sandwich. The breakfast menu is also good, though the dishes are a bit more creative than I'd like. This place was better than expected, considering the food at the hotel is good but not great. The dinner menu is much better than lunch. The filet mignon was great and seasoned well but overdone a bit. Fish tacos were good. The ceviche was refreshing and the guacamole was made table side and tasted much better than the rest of the hotels guacamole. Overall reccomended. When we first approached this restaurant, the hostess immediately said we could not enter if we were wet. We were shocked! Yeah we had just come from the pool, but we were not drenched. We were ready to turn around when one waiters said we can take the cushions off. Honestly, why have a restaurant near the pool if you can't eat there! They should have a blocked off section for this! We wanted a shaded area to eat not by the pool! That said, I ordered the shrimp cocktail soup. It was not as I expected. I've had this before, it usually comes with a tall glass and warm. It was not. The taste was ok, but not enough shrimp. Our second day, and because of the views, we gave them another try, this time we were dry. I ordered the steak. It was much better tasting. The right portion. The menu is limited, but the food and cocktails are always great!!! Attentive service! You can always ask the waiter got any food you crave. Today is my third visit to this restaurant in a row. I'm staying at the resort and it was just convenient to go here. When I asked for a guacamole, the server kept asking me if I wanted a big or small and would not explain the difference. There after, I requested serrano chilies, and yet he put jalapeños in the guacamole. I asked for fajitas and the first waiter told me that they are not on the menu. I mentioned that I have had them for the last two days and he repeated himself. Then I spoke with a manager who got the assignment. They came with a side of bean soup that they presented as beans. I felt like the waiters treated this as a comical experience and made me out to be a Karen. The reality? I am a vegetarian with minimal options so I took some agency in seeking out a proper meal. read more

This restaurant is located inside the Marriott hotel in Puerto Vallarta. It is located right next to the beach which creates a beautiful view, even at night. For appetizers, my group ordered grilled octopus and guacamole with chips. The octopus was grilled to perfection and had a great texture accompanied with roasted potatoes. The guacamole was prepared right in front of our table and was one of the best guacamoles I had ever had. It was fresh and had a balance of salt, spice and condiments. For my entree, I had their shrimp and skirt steak tacos. The steak was cooked medium well and was not tough or chewy; it was very tasty. The shrimp tacos were also very delicious, it had a pink sauce that paired well with the shrimp. My friend ordered tacos that came with a side of roasted crickets. I have never had crickets before but decided to try them. They were surprisingly crunchy and didn't taste bad at all. I was a little disappointed in their drinks, I ordered a frozen pineapple margarita. It was on the light side and didn't taste much tequila but the flavor of the pineapple was nice. read more

We came in for dinner as we were staying at the resort. The view from the restaurant was wonderful, the ocean breeze and sunset was great. This was probably all that was good about this place. A read through of the menu indicated there were only 2 vegetarian options. One option I had already tried at Nosh the night before so I ordered the hibiscus tacos. They were average- could have used more flavor and weren't very filling. I did order a side of grilled potatoes which were good. Others at the table said their food was also just ok. We did get tableside guac which was good, but that's pretty hard to mess up. The service was awful. Our server was purposefully speaking really fast in Spanish which was very annoying. Service was really slow and inattentive, we were waiting forever to get anything ordered and then the food took a long time to come out. read more

For an on-resort restaurant that's a stones throw from the ocean, the prices are relatively affordable. My table was under a yellow light though so it made all the dinner pics we took look horrible. I would recommend coming here while it's still light out to enjoy the full beach/ocean view. We watched the sunset from structure above the pool bar before our dinner, so it was somewhat dark but you could still see the water and a peekaboo view of the fireworks from town. The food was all fine but didn't blow me away. We started with duck confit gordita, basically just tasted like an egg roll. We shared the skirt steak skewers and snapper. Both were a little dry. Presentation of the food looked good besides that yellow light above our table. Dessert was probably best, we got churros and strawberry mint sorbet. I thought the sorbet was very refreshing. Our server was nice but he did not speak very good English. This was surprising since this restaurant is on the Marriott resort, yet when we went into town, the servers there even at little hole in the wall random restaurants spoke better English. Also, there were some random cats just lurking around under the tables, who knows if they are clean or if they have diseases. read more

I am surprised that this restaurant does not have a lot of reviews. I went on two foodie tours (night & day time tours) at PV and this restaurant actually should be in the tour! Love the beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, their plating and the quality of the food. Eat your ceviches here! I know that there are inexpensive ceviches everywhere but when it comes to seafood, you want it fresh! You can taste the quality here! I enjoyed dining here so much that I came to have breakfast even on the day I had a foodie tour in the morning. Try their surf and turf! Their grilled peach salad was amazing as well. Amazing example of a great experience over all! We ate at this spot twice. Food: superb! Extremely fresh, tasty, not heavy or greasy. We enjoyed a shrimp quesadilla, huge portion and very tasty, an avocado ceviche salad, beautifully presented and simply delicious and a Mexican breakfast plate. Service: great! Attentive, friendly, warm but very professional at the same time Ambiance: Amazing! The restaurant is located exactly by the beach, you literally eat at the beach, but being comfortable! You got the breeze from the ocean, the view, birds and butterflies will make every single visit a memorable experience. I've never had more flavorless food and drink in my life. Here i am in Puerto Vallarta and i came in starving. Ordered a margarita on the rocks and there were no rocks. It had no flavor at all all. When i asked what kind of tequila the server said Cuervo. Cuervo! I haven't had Cuervo since 1980 when Cuervo was all that was around. We ordered everything on the appitizer menu. Shrimp tacos, some fancy cheese salad, coconut shrimp, scallop fancy ceviche. It was all shit. Very pricey shit. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Simply awesome food! We are vegetarians and Chef Hector even came out talked to us and the food was simply DELISH!!! My kids cleaned up the plates real quick! The burrito/ enchilada and even the sale was so yummy and well composed. And the service was excellent also! The waiter realized our hesitation with ordering vegetarian dishes and made great recommendations and service was awesome. Located in the Marriott near the pool, this place does have ocean and beach views. I sat in the restaurant, not by the pool or on the beach. The lunch menu is not extensive, but has standard items. Everything pretty much has meat in it, so if you're vegetarian, it may be difficult (but I mean you can state to have no meat in some items, but it's already kind of expensive and they don't charge any less). The service was not that great, kind of slow. **Chips w/ guacamole & salsa - this was ok. the guac was fine, with salsa fresca (I'm not a huge fan of this type, I prefer blended salsas). The chips also have a slight oil taste to them, so it can be a little overwhelming if you stuff your face with them like I pretty much did **Quesadillas - I actually liked these (we asked for no meat). The little side of beans is good **Nachos - Didn't really eat this but it's fine (beans & cheese on chips, other stuff on side) **Fish tacos - Again, didn't really eat this but it's fine. It comes with a side of rice, and it's pretty good **Caesar salad - comes in a fried tortilla shell, shaved cheese on top, and a side of dressing I guess if you're looking for something to eat while chillin' by the pool or beach, this would be your best, if not only, bet since it's right there. read more

This place is excellent on so many levels! We were staying at the Marriott, and thankfully we decided to try this on-site restaurant early on. Everything about it is so pleasant - fish dishes are on par with what you'd get at an expensive American fish restaurant for about half the price, there is a great selection of appetizers, and the drinks are so good and so stiff. We came back here for two or three more meals and drinks after our first visit; safe to say were were big fans. Ambiance is great - right on the beach. Service is friendly, but be prepared to wait an unusual amount of time for your food. Also, Caesar salad is really small; just a few sprigs of romaine. It is not a dirt cheap restaurant, but it is high-quality, and less expensive than any of its counterparts in the States. read more

The views of the bay are spectacular, the staff is so kind and makes sure you have everything you need. We went for breakfast and dinner and both meals were delicious. Those in our family who wanted to eat authentic Mexican food could, and those who wanted comforts of home could choose a more 'American' meal. read more

Not staying at the resort, just came for the day (day pass) and it's already worth it! The food here, although not authentic, was pretty good. We had the shrimp ceviche, hamburger, chicken cesar salad, and the chicken taquitos: all refreshing, fresh, carefully made and overall tasty. The portions are fair and accurate to the descriptions of the size, if labeled. Again, not authentic, but good food! They certainly do a good job at catering to Western norms with both the taste and the menu options. Also, the restaurant is right on the beach and has many tables with a great view and fresh air. Last night the service was horrible, nobody was friendly at all but today we got lucky and got an amazing waiter called Ernesto who was so nice, personable, great outgoing personality & gave great suggestions, the nicest guy at all of Marriott PV. This review is for dinner. We went here on our first night at the resort because we were hungry / this seemed like the best on-property option. Not impressed at all. Service was very slow (place was not crowded), food came out sporadically. Biggest gripe was the food - was really disappointing. None of the dishes were worth it at all, especially the "enchiladas", which I would hardly call anything close to an enchilada. I believe this is the kitchen that they use for pool food during the day - we ate poolside 3 days in a row / everything was great. Not sure why dinner was so bad - menu is poorly designed, and food quality and portion sizes were nowhere near Marriott standards in my opinion. Tip - venture out for dinner. The Marina is a short (and safe) walk from the Marriott resort and there are lots of restaurant options there which have better quality food at lower prices. read more

Second meal here at the Marriott Casa Magna Resort. It's adjacent to the pool and right on the beach so the views can't be beat. The food has been very good. The service is great. This is my favorite casual restaurant here at the hotel. We ate at Champions yesterday (another restaurant here at the hotel) and will not eat there again. Come here the food is much better and it's very relaxed, but nice atmosphere. All outdoor restaurant, so no AC but nice and cooled by the pleasant ocean breeze. read more

We just arrived in Puerto Vallarta and were starving so we stopped by Las Casitas for a quick lunch. To my surprise the shrimp burrito was very good! The waiter recommended the pepito but my wife tried a different sandwich...next time we will go with the recommendation. Great views, nice ocean view and a breeze made for a good lunch. read more
