Lots of big tables for large parties. Reservations are highly encouraged or else prepare to wait an hour or so. For the area, this place really caters to tourist taste palates. If you are feeling homesick regarding food, this place has got your back. If you're looking for fully authentic, then maybe try a different place. Eddie's Place is a family casual restaurant across the harbor from the residence. They have three areas to dine, outside, outside with cover and indoor dining. They cover all their bases. They typically have a musician there that keeps the atmosphere light. The menu have a well diversified menu and the drink selection to match. The waitstaff is experienced and know when to peek in and when to leave well enough alone. The food was good and average price. Eddies drink which has a bit of a lot of things which makes it hard to walk to the taxi. Something just seemed a bit off with some of the textures but the favors were excellent. This place came recommended, and the atmosphere was nice. Our server, Daniel, was attentive and took the time to explain the specials and popular dishes. We ordered the jumbo coconut shrimp and the fajitas--both of which were recommended. While the presentation was great, the food itself was just okay. The fajitas lacked flavor, and the coconut shrimp had too much breading. The real issue came when we received our bill. The total was 1,535 pesos, which should have converted to $76.21 USD, but Daniel had written $90.26 on the receipt. When we questioned the incorrect exchange rate, he dismissively said, "That's what we do," and "I'm not the boss." He also told us it was cash-only but then suddenly offered Venmo as an option. Since we didn't have pesos, we paid $91 USD via Venmo and tipped $20 on top. After leaving, we realized we had been majorly overcharged. We went back to ask for at least $10 back--still leaving a generous tip he didn't deserve. I've since disputed the charge with Venmo. The dishonesty and unprofessionalism completely ruined the experience. I do not recommend this place. read more

Great spot, nice clean outdoor seating with a small view of the harbor. Had a Cadillac Margarita and it was one of the best I've had in 2 weeks. Tortia soup was a bit heavy on the tomato side. The street tacos were all you could ask for as were the breaded Shrimp! On a sad note they put us at a pub table with a gaping hole in the center! They covered it with a place mat but once my margarita found it over it went! Came right over and admitted the issue with the table and replace my Cadillac with a standard margarita. We visited Eddie's place several times for dinner during our recent visit and had a lovely meal each time. As others have noted, Eddie's Place is cash only, so come prepared! I do wish they had a kids menu, but my kids ate some pasta, shrimp, bread, and Caesar Salad from the regular menu... You can't go wrong with the coconut shrimp, and I love the middle eastern options as variety is sometimes hard to find at other local restaurants. Went here are the recommendation of a friend and the thousands of reviews on Google. I strongly recommend not going as the food lacked flavor and paled in comparison to all other meals we had on our trip. All guests were largely American senior citizens which probably explained the blandness of the food. Coconut shrimp was overfried, the carnitas tacos and tortilla soup lacked flavor (had to add salt) and the hamburger came out rare. Highlight was the woman playing classic pop songs on the keyboard. Really wished this place were better but there are better options nearby. read more

During the city tour, someone mentioned that this place is good. We made reservations for dinner Monday night. We were seated 10 minutes past our reservation time. This is an outdoor restaurant. There are a few indoor tables by the restroom area. Free chips and salsa. We ordered the coconut shrimp for our appetizer (small - 4 pcs), which came with a mango and a peach sauce. It was good. For our entrees, I ordered the steak fajitas and I didn't think there was anything special about it. My boyfriend ordered the Molcajete Norteno and it was flavorful, a little too much. For dessert we got the flan and also nothing so special about it. There was a singer that night. Our server was nice and attentive. We found Eddie's by accident. My wife and I visited with someone at the pool and she asked if we'd been there yet. Since we hadn't, we decided to take the walk up the beach to Eddie's Place and try it ourselves. It's a pretty easy walk -- maybe 15 minutes along the beach from our resort. Eddie's Place is an outdoor restaurant with a very friendly staff, and a pretty large menu. We've been there twice so far in the same week. In short, the food is very, very good, and the prices are very low, especially when compared to resort food. Our first night, we both had shrimp enchiladas, cocktails, coconut shrimp appetizers, and shared lime pie for dessert. The price came to only ~900 pesos (about $55 USD). Our second night, my wife had mahi mahi with mushroom cream sauce, and I had mocajete. The food portions are large, so we skipped the appetizer and dessert. I highly recommend Eddie's. It's well worth the walk. Plus, sunset walks along a beautiful Puerto Vallarta beach are fantastic even without a dinner. Get there early if you don't have a reservation, or just be prepared to wait for a table. We got there between 5:30 and 6:00 both nights, and were seated in just a few minutes, but a line started forming after that. At one point there were probably 10 people waiting for tables. read more

This is popular place that is cash only, no credit cards. Service starts with complimentary chips and 3 salsas. I ordered a wedge salad which was very large and nicely made. The pork in green sauce was only ok for me. While the green sauce was good, the pork was tough and seemed to be overcooked. It is served with a small portion of charro beans and rice. You can have corn or flour tortillas on the side. They have a large drink menu and all drinks come in three sizes. I had a margarita which seemed to be from a ok premade mix. The live music added to the nice atmosphere on the outdoor patio under the strung the sparkling lights. Service was friendly and they have many extra helpers running around assisting. read more

2nd and 3rd time at Eddies. Last night dinner was great. Wasn't told in the morning to make reservations but nevertheless I came here around 5:45pm. Place was crowded and a line of 5 groups in front of us. After about 10 minutes wait we got seated. We ordered the Mohetec, and coconut shrimp jumbo. After 30 minutes our shrimp came and there were big. Basically they were butterflied, and with it an enormous amount of batter. We ended up removing all the batter and ate just the shrimp. Other than that, the rest of dinner was fine. The next morning breakfast was very disappointing. All I can say is don't order Eddie's breakfast. It's actually a breakfast bowl with soggy potatoes and lots of liquid at the bottom of the bowl. It's like eating a hot soupy bowl of mixed soggy potato's bell peppers onion and a light sprinkle (confetti) of chorizo. Asked for eggs over medium but got hard instead. So the whole thing was terrible and disappointing. If you're hoping they would have Steak & Eggs, sadly they don't. Be aware. They don't accept credit card. They want your US dollars but will try and give back in peso. The current exchange rate is 18-1. They calculate it 16-17 and round up your bill. read more

What a great restaurant! We were at Eddie's Place tonight after 8 years of vacationing elsewhere. We are so glad that Eddie's Place is still as good as what we remember. My wife and I started going to Eddie's around 10 to 11 years ago when our kids were still in their early teenage years. We spoke to Eddie himself about his restaurant, his origin, and his sons. We were looking forward to going to Eddie's as if we were going to see our old home. The whole restaurant was almost full but the service was still outstanding. I had the whole red snapper and my wife had the shrimp main course. In addition, we had the most delicious flan, two glasses of ice tea, and two Diet Coke, the bill was only around $50 USD. We were at Eddie's place for a Sunday night dinner with our dear friends. It's the perfect place to enjoy great Mexican and Lebanese home cooked cuisine with music overlooking the docked boats and do it on a shoestring budget. We had a Greek salad and huge Bloody Mary to start. Our adorable and hardworking waiter gave great service. We ordered fajitas and Caffa and blackened tuna for dinner and had homemade flan for dessert. The portions were very large and we were very satisfied. It was a fun night with lots of laughs sitting outside. This is the perfect place to enjoy while on vacation. Our total bill for 4 people was only $120. Hmm, I was real excited to come here based on all the positive reviews. The ambiance and staff was super nice. The service wasn't too bad either actually. The problem I had was with the food. We started with the Tortilla soup. I've had so many versions of Tortilla soup and made numerous attempts to make the perfect version myself. Maybe I'm just a snob but none of our party liked the Tortilla soup. In my opinion, it was too Tomato based. more than that the bowl was stuffed to the brim with shredded tortilla strips. I like the tortilla garnish but this was too much. The bowl consisted of 85% tortilla strips 5% -10% other garnish (sour cream & avacado) and the remaining 5% was the broth. The mahi mahi almondine lacked flavor. The seasoning wasn't there and the baked potato wasn't cooked enough. I tried my kids chicken burrito and it had no flavor. Anyway, it was disappointing and I don't think we'll be back. read more

Eddies was our favorite place to eat while we were in Puerto Vallarta. Technically, it is in Neuvo Vallarta, but it is on the harbor close to the Vidanta resorts. We quickly tired of the food at Vidanta and wandered down the beach (you can cut through the Vidanta resort at the end of the beach onto the road) to see if we could find some better (and less expensive) food. Eddies was a jackpot. During a 7 day stay at the resort, we ate at Eddies four times. Twice for breakfast, once for lunch, and once for dinner. The food was consistently good, the drinks were great, and the service was always excellent. I tried a little bit of everything from the menu. The shrimp and fish tacos were delightful. The Mexican coffee at breakfast could not be beat. We were also more than happy with the prices. While it was a bit more expensive than going into the main part of the city, it was far less expensive than the resort menus. We consistently ate for less than $20 for the two of us, including tip. The same meals at the resort would have cost twice as much. read more
