We had lunch thru our conference ordered ahead for the whole week. Day 1 was less than par, an hour late and cold. Staff indicated they were working thru some new systems. Day two lunch was improved. Hoping Day 3 will be even better. I hope to come back again.

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

I had an excellent stay at the Bluenose Inn these past few days! We stayed in the mizzentop…read morebuilding and were really impressed with our room! The huge room included a patio with a beautiful view of Mt Dessert Narrows and early morning sunsets. I loved the class that went into decorating the room. The real wood furniture, classy light fixtures, yet modern amenities (usb charging ports, key rig, fridge, microwave, etc) really made the room feel upscale yet homey. The room was very clean and I slept very well in that comfy bed! If you have a chance, spend some time in the Great Room listening to Bill Trowell, the pianist who plays most nights. Bring a snack with you, or buy a drink at the bar. Although we didn't have a chance to use them, there was an outdoor pool and a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs that's lit nightly. There's also an indoor pool and fitness center. Next door, is the Looking Glass restaurant which serves a good breakfast with a beautiful view. The only negatives of the hotel (in my opinion) are a few minor things: 1. The rooms use an actual key (not a card). 2. It's kinda far from the walkable area of Bar Harbor. 3. The hot water for the bathtub took forever to heat up, and also get dangerously hot, so use caution!! 4. It seems like (from the other reviews) that the other building, Stenna Nordica, might not have rooms as nice as those in the Mizzentop building, but I don't know for sure since I didn't have a chance to see those rooms. So to be safe, book a mizzentop room. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you're ok with staying a few minutes outside of town, and enjoy beautiful views of the water from the comfort of your own private porch.

Location is unmatched as well, right on Main St so everything is perfectly walkable. They have a coffee bar on each floor in the hallway, and your first thought is, that is a an interesting way to save money, however, it certainly is not because the amount of coffee that you drink on this trip, probably more than you'll ever drink at any hotel ever, because of it being readily accessible and constantly refreshed. They also make sure there's fresh fruit available as well as Kind bars every day. Shout out to the cleaning staff who are meticulous and make sure that everything is up to a very high cleanliness standard. And I have VERY high cleaning standards. Honestly, the only two complaints I would make is that 1) staff are kind but not welcoming. They don't go out of their way to say hello when they see you, but if you need help, they will happily assist. They don't make you feel welcome, but if you need something, they are innately compelled to help. And then 2) Hershey kisses are the offerED candy; for the elevation of the hotel it feels like something a little more substantive could be offered, but I'll forgive it. So a 4.5 star review can easily be rounded up to five; well done, West St. Hotel, we will be back!

The room was well appointed and ready an hour before the check in time. There's a snack station on each floor equipped with cold water bottles, a nice selection of coffees and teas, fruit, and Kind bars. Robes are provided in the rooms, and the room service is from the nearby restaurant Paddy's. Prior to bedtime, we filled out the breakfast room service ordering menu and placed it outside. The first day was great. Room service arrived right on time the next morning. We ate and headed out for the day. I noticed later at night that they didn't leave another room service ordering menu. Figured no big deal, we'll just go down for breakfast the next day. This is when we ran into a few issues - we went down to the restaurant for breakfast at 930 and were told by a staff member at Paddy's that they were backed up with room service orders and she recommended we go across the street for breakfast, or there would be quite a wait. Okay that's fine - we had plans for the day so we ate across the street. A bit frustrating because breakfast was included in our nightly rate. When we got back in the afternoon around 3pm, I noticed the room wasn't cleaned. On the way out for dinner, I spoke with the front desk about housekeeping, and also asked them to make sure we get a room service breakfast order menu as we didn't the day before. When we came back from dinner - only one of the two beds was made. The bathroom floor was not vacuumed, and we didn't have our breakfast order menus. Again, I reached out to the front desk, who sent someone up with the menus. I mentioned the housekeeping issue to the guy who brought the menus up - he clarified that we would like to make sure both beds are made and the bathroom is cleaned .....yes. Felt odd to have to clarify that as this is usually understood. Later that evening we wanted to order room service for dessert - it was difficult to get someone on the phone. Ended up going to the restaurant to get the dessert to-go. The next morning our breakfast did not arrive. I called to follow up - Nicole at the front desk checked with the restaurant and made sure our food would be delivered. Our food arrived, though an hour late and missing one entree. Not Nicole's fault; she was excellent with following up with us. There seems to be some staffing issues as the one person at the front desk is always alone with seemingly a ton of things to be responsible for. I wanted to love this hotel, but the small things do add up. I ended up rather disappointed with my stay.

The food was cold and late. They refunded our breakfast but the plastic and cold food left a bad taste. We also tried to make a couples massage and they only had 2 male masseuse and one female masseuse. Not practical for such a large hotel. The grounds were beautiful and can host large parties and everything is within walking distance. Not sure I would stay here again because it was an ok stay.

The only other amenities offered without an additional fee were tennis and the swimming pools but they were still closed because we were there in April, still the off-season. 3) The La Bella Vita restaurant food was mediocre and definitely not worth the inflated prices charged. Not to mention, our waiter didn't even know what a Chianti red wine was even though he was working at an Italian restaurant. 4) The outdated wall room heater and air conditioner was way too loud and we couldn't hear the TV without turning it up (I'm sure our neighbors could hear). But at least it helped drown out the neighbors and the barking dog. And can't imagine what they charge for rooms during peak tourist season but I definitely won't be back to find out.

I got campground vibes in a way and not a bad way at all. It's not the fanciest place, but it was just right. We got the room that sleeps six. One king bed in one room and two beds in the other room. Wish the fridge was bigger since we did lunch in the room everyday. Also and this is not a sticking point, but the toilet paper is a bit of stretch when you need it, if you know what I mean. They have a pretty decent breakfast, with a decent amount of variety. Understand when you get breakfast there will be what seems to be a million people in there at the same time. Didn't matter what time we went in either. There are things for the kids to do outside and s'mores most nights. I did get in the pool one afternoon and it was a nice pool. All-in-all, I'd 100% stay here again. Less than $1900 for a big room for a week in bar harbor says a lot, especially when it's this nice. Check them out.

Well kept funky 50's vibe and the grounds are sweet and off the road so very little noise. You are close to the downtown without being in the middle and close to the Acadia park entrance. There is a path right at the end of the property that walks into Acadia actually. I definitely recommend this motel for a stay in Bar Harbor.
