Outdoor garden signage says it's open to public and free atmosphere. My husband and I on vacation in Bar Harbor, walked by with a couple of iced lattes and entered the garden to sit and enjoy. I was planning to tip the performer and my husband was going to grab a beer until a staff member questioned our coffee and said we needed to get a drink at the garden. I couldn't finish my latte because I brought it in from outside. we had to leave. The only bad and quite frankly embarrassing experience. Btw we are not young adults carrying outside liquor into the garden. Gave it a one star because it looked inviting. read more

We booked cottage #15 thinking it would be a nicer room than inside the hotel. Wrong. What I liked about the hotel was the parking was free, cottages were quiet, blueberry muffins were excellent. That was it. The cottage room was done so cheaply. Filthy area rug, oversized blinds, chairs with worn out cushions down to the springs, cheap towels, no luggage rack, bulk toiletries with no name (you don't know what you're using on your body), recycled mints that were handled many times, cheap worn out foam pillows. This is only a few of my complaints. Definitely not worth it to stay. Couldn't wait to leave this place. I shared my issues with the front desk when she asked how our stay was. It was nice she listened but apparently it didn't go anywhere. read more

A friend our recommended this hotel to stay while we visited Bar Harbor. We booked our stay through Booking.com for the second week in May. I saw in another review as well as saw 2 guests who arrived after us greeted with champagne but we weren't greeted with any. I'm not sure what the difference was between us and everyone else. Otherwise it was a nice stay. We stayed in Room 11 which is located by the parking lot. It's not a large compound so our room was close to the lobby area. The room is small but came with a outdoor patio area which was nice to use on the warmer days so we wouldn't be confined to do everything in our room but we only got to experience that 1/3 days while we were there. This is a nice room to have if you have other friends staying here to hang out on the patio together. The room comes with an AC, a mini fridge, tv, small clothes hanger area and a white noise machine. I didn't see any sign of a heater in our room but we weren't in our room much except for bedtime which was a little chilly. The bed is super soft and comfy. The first night the shower didn't get hot, at most it got room temperature, I think that might have been around the time everyone else was probably showering too but the following night i showered earlier in the evening and had a steamy shower. The parking lot has a lot of space to park and there are 3 chargers for electric vehicles. The front desk area has a water, coffee and tea station and microwave which is out all day for guests to use so that was useful when I felt for tea which I brought with me. There's also a mini fridge but that's for the yogurts at breakfast time. Breakfast is from 7am to 10am and they have yogurts + oat clusters, muffins, fruits and orange juice. This is a long review, that I completely forgot about doing. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a week in July 2024. Our check-in was rather late, 9pm, and we did not encounter an employee until we called the number on main lobby door. The employee can out of a laundry area and appeared to have just woke up. We had a suite on the first floor. Through our window you could see the lawn, and the random people that are sitting on the lawn. I felt uncomfortable with that fact that you can sit directly outside our front window. These were not other hotel guest, rather random people usually fresh off a cruise ship. The bathroom was large and stocked with new towels daily. The workers would come in daily and clean the room. The house keepers did a great job. Brian, the outside bar tender, was also awesome he and his two employees were by far the most helpful and friendly. When I rate hotel I rate it based on price for what you get. For the amount we spent I expected a golden experience. We had no valet, no bellhop, no drink pass for the outside bar, hell we don't ever get VIP seats on the lawn of the hotel. Pretty hotel with a cool look in a good location but not the grand experience you would expect for the money. read more

My husband, son and I stopped by the outside bar area. I ordered a drink but my husband and son didn't. We were sitting by the fire pit, my son was on his phone quietly playing a game. We were approached and told that my husband and son needed to order something or we had to leave. At this time there were plenty of open seats and others sitting around without a drink in hand. *****Review of outdoor garden/bar***** If you're walking down Maine St., you can't help but notice the cute and welcoming garden and bar in front of the Ivy Manor Inn. There's a good amount of seating in their garden, some surrounding their firepits. In the corner of the garden you'll see a small bar stand, which offers whiskey, wine, and cocktails in a can. Very limited options, but I was still able to find something to enjoy. The Natucket Blue, a blueberry vodka soda, was quite good. The blueberry and lemon flavors came through nicely. Definitely a nice cocktail to drink on the beach or while relaxing in your backyard. The bartender was super friendly. You could tell he enjoyed his job and interacting with people. If you're in Bar Harbor, I highly suggest grabbing a drink here. read more

Best spot in town. Everyone wants to sit in the front yard and listen to music and then gather around the fire pits at night. So much fun. Can't beat the location. Our stay was for the middle of April. Booked through Expedia. Pleasantly surprised when we drove up to the Inn. The grounds were well kept. Check in was easy and they gave us each a glass of champagne when we arrived. Special parking passes were given for parking in the back. They did have a tesla charger and other generic car chargers. I love all the homey authentic details that the inn had. Beautiful wood doors , molding and copper plate tiles on the ceiling. I loved that there wasn't signs all over the place. Ex - no smoking , quiet , etc. I truly felt like I was staying at someone's house. We stayed in room 4. It had an electric fireplace and balcony with chairs. I was surprised that the sound didn't carry and everyone was so quiet. They had a continental breakfast and even provided me with a gluten free muffin. It's like they thought of everything. The location was perfect to walk to a coffee shop or restaurant. Acadia National park was probably 3 miles away. To be realistic the bathroom did have some mold marks and the facets were a little hard to use and bed was a little too soft for us but it's an Inn and we loved our stay and would definitely stay again. read more

This review is only for the garden patio. While window shopping on the streets of Bar Harbor, I heard something interesting in the distance. Live music, perhaps at some sort of lounge. My husband and I support the arts, so we had to find the performance. The garden patio at Ivy Manor wasn't to difficult to find as it had a prime location right in the center of town, across the street from the main park. We were able to grab a couple canned brews from Atlantic Brewing--a Real Ale and a Blueberry Ale--and settle in to a perfectly packed patio to enjoy the musical stylings of a father-daughter duo. It was a perfect entertainment and setting to hang out for a couple hours after our long day in Acadia. This space also had many adorable doggo's lounging with their humans, including the musicians. I'd highly recommend this bar and music area for any traveler. read more

I would have given 5 stars except for one rude encounter. Everything about the inn is beautiful. The grounds, the rooms, the lobby and check in desk are immaculate. After our third night of a four night stay, we decided to take our drinks out front to enjoy the company of other guest. We had purchased drinks from the bar everyday including earlier that day. We sat down and immediately told to leave in a rude manner. This review is ONLY for the outdoor patio bar. We were not guests at the inn, but when we walked by and saw the fire pits going, we decided to order a drink. The chairs are comfy and there was plenty of seating. My husband and I made friends with a few other couples seated nearby - this is a perfect atmosphere for a drink after dinner. The fire pits are on a timer and turn off promptly at 10:00pm, so don't plan on going here if you have a later dinner because you will miss it! We came here in October and stayed in one of the King Cottages (room 14). The Ivy Manor is lovely. Located on Main Street right in the middle of basically everything. You're surrounded by shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Location - middle of town on main street and a short distance from the beach. 2. Private - the king cottages are detached from the manor so you just walk right up. No hallways. No entering the main building. 3. WiFi 4. Breakfast included - simple items like muffins, banana bread, bagels, coffee/tea, juice and fruit. 5. Heating/Air conditioner within the units. The heat comes from an electric fireplace. Very nice. 6. Aesthetically pleasing. Cons: 1. Small tv - considering the size of the rooms are rather large. The tv is just disproportionately small. 2. The fitted sheet - it was a little too small and kept coming off the bed. Everything about our stay was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. Some nice touches I feel I need to mention were that they provided umbrellas. We had a particularly rainy couple of days and it was a nice touch since we didn't bring an umbrella. Also, complimentary champagne upon check in. I'd come back here in a heart beat. read more

Private parking (free)- they will give you a parking pass for your car when you check-in 2. Very comfy bed 3. Double vanity (we had a king room) 4. Super friendly staff (hotel & bar...they even gave us some awesome recommendations for our drive from Bar Harbor to Burlington, VT) 5. Complimentary glasses of champagne or soda upon check-in 5. Front & side lawn with fire-pit, bocce ball & ample seating. The first night we were there they had live music 6. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION- you can park and walk everywhere in Bar Harbor. 7. This is a cute place smack dab in the thick of it at the end of Main Street in busy Bar Harbour. They have a main house and little cottages. We had a cottage. Thanks for the friendly greeting and directions from Sidu, who met up with us in the parking lot as we arrived. The place is cute and well kept up. The electric fireplace is a very nice touch. The Lawn Bar was fun with the live music etc. Festive. Classy. But we had our own cottages's fire pit where you could hear the music but were out of the crowd. The breakfast hospitality was just enough. Great coffee and tea. And the blueberry muffins! I almost never indulge. But these are irresistible and worth the calories. We were able to walk to must everything and the parking lot was very convenient. read more

I didn't; I only went in for a Belgian beverage in the Inn's "William Tell Lounge," because the colorful lawn sign promised "Best of Belgium -- A Celebration of Belgian Beer." There was even a picture of glasses of Hoegaarden and Leffe beer! I was sold! Being thirsty, and never one to pass up a nice citrusy Hoegaarden, I headed inside, where, it turned out, there were no Belgian beers to be had at all, except for the perfectly middling Stella Artois (not even on tap, mind you -- poured from a bottle). Wonderful Stay! Our room was one of the cottages. It seemed that they were newly renovated. They had a very welcoming and clean feel. We loved our room. Breakfast is continental style, which was perfect for us, on those days that we didn't want to spend too much time at a sit down restaurant. Only recommendation for the staff would be to oversee housekeeping during our stays & before people check in. Although the room was clean it seemed that it was just quickly cleaned up, without looking at details. Such a refreshing out toiletries and/or makeup towel. However they are minor details that didn't affect our experience. We also loved the sitting areas in front where you could people watch and have a glass of wine. Overall we loved it! read more

I can't say enough about the Ivy Manor Inn or our stay! It was exceptional. This property is a true hidden gem in Bar Harbor. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown, the walkability and accessibility couldn't be better! You are a few short steps from the shore path, and a stone's throw from many shops, bars, and restaurants. The Inn itself is set back off the street a bit so the rooms are quiet and private. The front lawn has been perfectly landscaped and offers an outdoor bar, fire pits, and live music in the evenings. We stayed at the Ivy for our wedding weekend and they could not have been more hospitable or welcoming. Above all, the front lawn served as our wedding welcome party location which was so elegant and whimsical. I can't wait to come back and stay at the Ivy for many years to come! read more
