After reading all the glowing reviews and viewing the website, I was excited to stay here. Save your money and look elsewhere! The website promises an experience that they don't deliver! Bubbling fountain...nope! Al Fresco breakfast dining...nope! Afternoon social....nope! Staff availability...nope! Staff leaves at night leaving guests on their own. Hmmm......an early morning fire alarm urging evacuation and not a staff member in sight to turn to! They offer complimentary breakfast at the inn next door but if your a single diner, they'll attempt to seat you at a table with strangers! Not happening! Housekeeping....doesn't happen until AFTER you check out! Guests are told to leave trash, towels and linen outside their doors for housekeeping to pick up. And if you leave bedding outside your door, be prepared to make your own bed! Happy vacation! The Bar Harbor Inn is literally steps away......you'll be better off spending your money there! As a note.....I noticed all the favorable reviews were pre COVID. Please update your website to include inferior service! read more

The best Bed and Breakfast my wife and I stayed at in Bar Harbor. The house is very cozy and comfortable inside with a great location close the Frenchman's Bay. The welcoming and friendly owners and staff makes this place a 5 star location. My wife and I spent two night on our honeymoon here and we are so thankful that we did. Ullikana deserves five + stars as a place to stay and the owners deserve five stars as hosts. The staff is also helpful and excellent. The room was beautiful and being on the top floor gave us a view of the water and surrounding area from our terrace. The location is excellent being just off the main street in town but far enough away to be in a quiet and tranquil setting. Breakfast was an unexpected delight with the owners personally taking care of meeting all of our requests including fresh squeezed orange juice. The owners also gave us excellent recommendations for dinner and things to do. Will definitely stay there again and can't recommend this place highly enough. read more

If you are thinking of visiting Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay! The Inn has a beautiful view of the water and the most amazing building I've ever stayed in. I cannot express how much we enjoyed staying here for our honeymoon. They are so welcoming and the rooms are so luxurious and homey, we wanted to stay forever! We are already working on booking our one year anniversary with them because we can't wait to go back! This beautiful home overlooking Frenchman's Bay sets the bar very high for any high end bed and breakfast. The home is gorgeous inside, but was very cozy and warm at the same time. The breakfast is delicious and the inn offers both a sweet and savory option, along with a healthy option. The chef creates amazing flavor profiles. The Ullikana is all about innkeepers Roy and Helene who make their romantic bed and breakfast one of Bar Harbor's treasures. The Ullikana is a stunning Tudor style home nestled in The Field which overlooks Frenchman Bay. The rooms are exquisite, each with its own personality. I recommend staying in all if you can. The common areas of the home are filled with an eclectic mix of art and furnishings that reflect Roy and Helen's unique personal style and the end result is a very warm and inviting atmosphere. We stayed a few days at the end of the season and found this place to be our favorite of several we experienced along the coast of Maine. Roy and Helene are gracious and easy going which sets the tone for the inn. Helene's breakfasts were terrific, and the choice of music just perfect. We chose Ullikana Inn for the first few days of our honeymoon and were thrilled with our experience. The decor of the Ullikana is charming down to the very last detail, including our room which was beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. We loved having breakfast and happy hour each morning on the patio overlooking the ocean. Roy, Helene (owners), and Syd (innkeeper) were incredibly thoughtful, from brewing coffee at 7 am for early risers to sip on the patio to accommodating our dietary needs each morning at breakfast to decorating our room with swans, chocolates, and a note of congratulations. Truly, everyone we interacted with at Ullikana - owners, innkeeper, staff, guests - were very kind. We recently stayed at Ullikana in Bar Harbor on our first visit to the area. It more than exceeded our expectations. We were met by Eddie who owns the inn and he couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Our room was beautiful and newly renovated. We had a beautiful view of the bay from our private deck. The breakfast they offer was exceptional as well as the baked goods they put out every afternoon. The location is perfect as we were able to walk to town and restaurants. I loved this place! Great quiet location with a view of the water from the outside sitting area. It's an old house with a lot of charm but best of all is the staff / owner. They go out of their way to make sure your stay in Bar Harbor is everything you want it to be. I went there for the last part of my honeymoon and we were greeted warmly and then had chocolates waiting for us in the room. We were given spot on recommendations for dining and hiking. The morning breakfasts were awesome. Truly, exactly what you are looking for in a bed and breakfast. Roy and Helene were perfect hosts and Sidney helped make our stay so special so a big thank you to the them. Ulikana is at the top of our list for bed and breakfasts in Bar Harbor. We make it a point to always stay at bed and breakfast inns when we travel, preferring those of impeccable quality, especially those on Select Registry. When our favorite inn was booked, we decided to give Ulikana a try. Ulikana exceeded all our expectations. The new owners have a plethora of experience and it shows. The breakfast on the terrace was delicious as well as calm and delightful overlooking part of the water. They even accommodated my strange dietary restrictions with ease. Our spacious two room suite on the first floor was completely new and elegant, with an extremely comfortable bed. The new owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful in giving us pointers for exploring the area, making reservations at restaurants, and the like. Bottled water, snacks, and drinks were available all day at no charge as well as an afternoon cocktail hour. The location was perfect. It was as easy walk to Main Street for dinner and shopping, although far enough away that it was very quiet. The shore path and the waterfront were literally a few steps from the house and Acadia was a few minutes drive. We absolutely loved our stay at Ulikana. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend it. read more

This Inn is truly amazing! The owners have thought about EVERY little touch that makes for a magical experience. The sheets are yummy! Our room (Jack Palmer) was beautiful. The room configuration has a little sitting room that manages to separate itself from the bedroom in such a way that one can watch TV or read while the other is watching TV in the bedroom and not disrupt each other if preferred. The bathroom was so quiet that my hubby never knew i was taking a shower while he was sleeping and vice verse! Every day you are greeted with a different homemade goodie such as white chocolate macadamia cookies; macaroons or a brownie made completely of blueberries and crunchy bottom etc. each day is a different treat! The room is incredibly clean and fresh. There is a shared butler's bar stocked with sodas, water, coffee, tea, glasses for wine. Also warm inviting nooks where one can retreat to read, sit and drink coffee and reflect. The full breakfasts are more than delicious. Whoever their cook is --well she feeds the soul too! The staff is hard working, courteous and professional. Absolutely no complaints. We will definitely return!! PS-the Inn is within walking distance of anyplace you wish to go in town of Bar Harbor. We never needed our car. Definitely take Oli's trolley ride through Acadia Park. We learned so much we would have missed by just driving Acadia. And eat at Galyn's. There are 4 tables outside on the balcony. Good food and so very charming!!! I am in love with my entire experience. Eddie at Ullikana recommended the trolley. We are so NOT "tour" type folks but we are grateful we took his advice!!! Enjoy! read more
