They were breaded and I much prefer batter-fried fish. I had never had breaded fish in the U.K. before. The fish was also smaller than others I've had and the fries were quite soggy. I suspect that this was all frozen. This was my first mediocre fish and chips meal that I had since arriving in the U.K. 3 weeks ago. It didn't really fill us up but it was satisfying enough until the next day. Seating is outdoor only and it's in a nice location to watch the world go by. It's also pretty touristy. I really won't recommend this for any meal unless you're exhausted and don't care what your food tastes like. Oban has so many options for good seafood so take the time and go elsewhere.

Whilst waiting for the ferry to Barra me and my friend decided to get a deluxe seafood platter.. We decided to go for take away as we were soon going to board the ferry, so sat in the car to eat it.. The box contained a whole lobster, 2 crab claws, 2 scallops, 2 langustines, loads of mussels, small prawns, medium prawns, razor clams, clams and calamari.. It also came with two dips and some salad.. All this for just £27.. Total bargain and fresh.. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.. There is also the option to sit in on a wee bench and table.. But be prepared to be rained on.. On my route back I stopped in again and got 3 crab claws (my favourite) the cost was £2.30 they go by weight.. Sunset views from our room. Several times we were able to watch sea otters playing in the bay. Walk across the street and you will find an abundance of blackberries growing. We picked some every evening to enjoy a little snack for our sunset walks. The Glue Pot (the hotel bar) was a very cozy little place with friendly staff and locals.
