Such a cute spot located inside Selden Market. The attention to detail in the decor is impressive. French and pastels seemed to be the theme. They also have a little bit of seating inside and just slightly out of the entrance. The macarons tasted good. Not my absolute favorite, but pretty good. The size also seems to be bigger... no complaint. Or maybe my hands were smaller that day. The staff was so helpful. They were able to describe each flavor. I opted for the 757 deal they had going on in the month of November. I was able to get 6 macarons for $7.57. My husband also used his check in on Yelp to participate. So we were able to try all the flavors. The flay were kinda unique too. One was the chocolate covered strawberry. Overall a cute little place. Grab a bit to eat and head to get dessert from Cafe Genevieve.

I saw macaroons and had to stop. I didn't come for macaroons but i sure left with some. The lady behind the counter was very nice and answered all my questions. Its an adorable little restaurant with a French feel and decor... There are several flavors of macaroons, scones, puddings, cake, coffee and other things. They all looked delicious. I got a 6pk which was $15. I had pistachio, butter pecan, fruity pebbles, and vanilla bday... My mom had peach and lavender vanilla. They were all good the fruity pebbles was my fav. The butter pecan was my least fav. It had a weird after taste. I wasn't a fan at first, but once i refrigerated them i liked them better. My mom loved the peach one. It was very peachy... I'd try more flavors from there. The prices are reasonable and its a cute place!!! Check them out...

This place is so cute & a fun spot to chill in- like a little Paris (I imagine). I had a couple macarons during the summer. I enjoy this place, and I love it being inside Selden Market.

While walking through Selden Market to pick up complimentary treats from S'Mores Amore, my girlfriend and I walked to this new business that's new to the area. They serve homemade macarons along with cake, coffee and other treats. We both picked Lavender Vanilla (my girlfriend is a sucker for lavender) and Coffee macarons. I gotta say with each bite, you can definitely taste the flavor like they were described. Very tasty and as always, very airy. I definitely wanted more but with three bites for each, I can say we were pretty satisfied. Not bad for a first time considering I love going to small dessert spots. I can truly see this little place thriving after they just opened in Selden Market. The next time we stop by, we'll definitely head back for some more :)

This is such a cool Café. The service was awesome,l with very pleasant and helpful staff. They have seating if you want to enjoy your macaroons and beverage right away. The decor definitely made me feel like I was at French Café - bon appetit! They have 4 macaroon flavors (pumpkin, chocolate, pistachio, and lavender vanilla) and a variety of coffees and teas. They also offer Pellegrino. I had the chai tea with oat milk, which was good. That pumpkin and pistachio have a flavor like none other! Try it out!!!

We weren't looking for Cafe Genevieve when we stumbled upon it, but I am so very glad that we did. I was even more delighted to find out that this adorable little shop doesn't out source their macarons - they are made right there in the establishment!!!! How awesome! I am a macaron SNOB & these macs were fresh, with wonderful flavor & beautiful "feet" on their shell. I was in Heaven. I bought a half dozen ( 2 pistachio, 1 birthday cake, 1 butter pecan, 1 coffee, 1 strawberry)... & I should have bought more!!! Haha The cookies are priced pretty fair (you can almost NEVER find a macaron under $2.50 due to the ingredients & how tedious it is to make them). The staff was very friendly & walked us through the other items on the menu that are made right there in their storefront ! Pretty neat ! I plan to visit again soon! Thank you so much cafe Genevieve

This is an adorable little French-themed shop in Selden Market. Parking is a little precarious to reach anything in Downtown Norfolk for me. But it ended up worth it! Café Genevieve offers coffee, tea, macarons (their specialty) and other rotating baked goods. The decoration is so cute in this shop. It stands out amongst all of the other shops. There is seating where you can enjoy tasty coffee drinks and baked goods. And the service is great. The girl who helped us was sooo nice. I took advantage of the $7.57 deal this visit, and also got a caramel macchiato for my sister. Omg. These cookies really pack some authentic flavor. I did strawberry chocolate, chocolate, crème brûlée, red velvet, lavender vanilla, and pumpkin spice. They were all very true to their name. I can tell they are all naturally flavored and handcrafted carefully. My favorite was the pumpkin spice. It tasted just like a pumpkin pie. My sister loved her coffee - it was freshly brewed with delicious caramel flavor. They had nondairy options, too!! I hope to come by again to try their scones or other treats!!

Cute cute cute little spot in Selden Market. One of the owners I met, was very fun and bubbly. I wished them all the success. Their macarons were delicious and a good size! I also ordered a chai tea. It was delicious.

Came here as part of yelp's 7.57 promo, which included 6 macarons. Didn't get to taste much only because the rest of my family took the rest before I could get to them lol, but the one bite of lavender vanilla macaron I had was delicious! The lavender really shown through, which I liked since lavender essences can get buried easily imo. According to everyone else, their macarons were all yummy, so my review is mostly on their behalf! Based on this, I'd definitely come back!

Let me just say this... best macaroons I've ever had on the east coast. This cute cafe brings class and comfort to your morning coffee and pastries. If you haven't tried them please do.

I love this place. I come in once a week. Great flavors and extremely friendly staff. I don't think there is a flavor I haven't liked

It was a long wait in line. Towards the end of their limited hours, I was pleased that they still had a pretty good selection. They sold out of some things, but I found a robust selection of pastries and a loaf of bread as well, albeit one too big for their slices. With macarons and chocolate on sale as well, they had a lot worth coming for. The cake slices were as rich and smooth as one hopes for a French bakery, but several other pastries met with aplomb as well. I struggled to locate a high-end bakery in this geographic area, but did not regret having come to this one at all.

Hours are solid and they actually have available parking which is great for colley.

We were able to use the back room in the cafe that had a large table and provided a cozy setting with lots of natural light coming through the windows and cute macaroon-shaped pillows on the chairs. We had hibiscus tea and peach tea for the table to share. The peach tea was everyone's favorite, it didn't even need any added sugar. It was served in cute pastel teapots, though one of the teapots had a chip at the spout which made me a little nervous. We also had macaroons made in-house for the table. I can't remember if I asked the staff if any of the macaroons were dairy free, but I asked my friends at the table and was told there was dairy in them. I later asked the staff if there was any food they offered that was dairy-free and they showed me their pastry counter but ultimately determined that everything offered had dairy, so all I had while at the café was the tea. The ladies I was with loved the macaroons. I wish I could have had some. I recommend at least 1-2 food options be added in the café for folks who have a dairy allergy. Café Genevieve provides a nice atmosphere for tea with a unique setting -- in a 1734 house that is decked out with Parisian decor. It's not the most private setting -- it got pretty noisy during our time there and there were a few interruptions to our conversation. We should have asked if we could have closed the door, because that definitely would have helped with noise and privacy. Overall, the customer service was great and the tea was really good! If you want to meet here for a private event, conversation, or just want some peace and quiet, that back room with the door closed could provide it. It's a nice café to check out.

I also got a croque madam which is a French grilled cheese with ham and a fried egg added, with bauchamel sauce. The sandwich was tasty!! Both macarons were good but the butter beer was my favorite. It tasted slightly like butterscotch. I like this little cafe. If you haven't been, you should definitely check them out!

My sister and I stopped by Crave Bakery in downtown Norfolk and had a really good experience…read moreoverall! Parking is street parking, but we were able to find a spot pretty close, which was convenient. The bakery itself is very clean and super cute inside, with a nice little area that would be perfect for a quick photo op. I also really liked the self-order kiosk. I love being able to look through the menu and take my time deciding what I want without feeling like I'm holding up the line. There were also a lot of drink options, including hot coffee, iced coffee, frozen coffee, and frozen drinks. I tried the Banana Pudding Iced Latte. It was good and honestly better than most banana-flavored drinks I've had, but I personally wanted more banana flavor to come through. It wasn't bad at all--I still drank the entire thing but I would've loved a stronger banana pudding flavor. The Strawberry Cheesecake Muffin was SO good. Soft, huge, and delicious. Definitely one of the highlights for us. No notes on that one! But let's talk about the SHRIMP & GRITS. I have another restaurant in Virginia Beach that has held my #1 spot for grits for a VERY long time. I've tried shrimp and grits all over Hampton Roads and even in other states, and nobody had really come close. Crave Bakery is officially neck and neck with them now. The flavor is completely different from my Virginia Beach favorite, which is why I can't necessarily say one is better than the other. They're just two very different takes on shrimp and grits and both are now at the top for me. The portion was pretty generous, too. We split one bowl and were still super full afterward. The shrimp and grits were hot and flavorful, and flavor-wise, I have no notes. My only personal preference was the consistency. I like my grits a little thicker, while these were more on the loose/creamy side. My sister actually thought the consistency was perfect, so that's definitely just a personal preference and not really a criticism. We also tried a couple of cookies. We had the lemon cookie and a ginger molasses cookie. The lemon cookie itself was good, but we weren't crazy about the icing on top. It was very sweet and, to us, felt unnecessary because the cookie was already sweet enough. We would've preferred the cookie without the icing. The ginger molasses cookie was the biggest miss for us. And this one is interesting because I actually like ginger molasses cookies! I've had one from another bakery before and really enjoyed it, and I also like ginger snaps. This particular cookie was just molasses, and neither of us liked it. So I'm not sure if it's simply that this particular cookie wasn't for us, or if the ginger molasses cookies I've had in the past were more ginger which is why I liked them. Either way, this one wasn't our favorite. Customer service was nice, and we didn't have any issues during our visit. Overall, the shrimp & grits and strawberry cheesecake muffin were definitely the standouts for me. The bakery is cute, clean, has a good variety of food and drinks, and I absolutely loved the self-order kiosk. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu and honestly, I need those shrimp and grits again.

Staff is friendly, patient with me as I browsed their extensive menu offering beverages, sandwiches, breakfast items (bowl, burrito, bagels, etc) They have various choices of individual pies (apple, peach, etc.), cookies, cakes, muffins etc. Ambiance is casual but slightly upscale. Very IG'able. Seating for about 20 people with various standard, high top, settee options. Music slightly loud for such ambiance.... The kale chix bowl didn't even have kale. There was way too much sour cream, wish they serve it on the side, made to make serving look more. They didn't even care to wipe the bowl side clean (see photo), it didn't look appetizing as if they just plopped everything. For $15 it was not on par with sausage egg cheese grits bowl from Waffle House. I'd come back for the coffee selections.
