I've visited Tous Les Jours twice now, once on a busy Saturday and again on a Wednesday afternoon and both experiences were excellent. The bakery has a huge variety of both savory and sweet pastries, cakes, sandwiches, coffees, and specialty drinks, so there's truly something for everyone. On my most recent visit, I tried the Iced Pistachio Matcha Cloud along with the chicken salad sandwich, and both were delicious. The matcha drink especially stood out with the perfect balance of earthy matcha flavor, nutty pistachio notes, and a creamy sweetness from the cloud topping without being overly sweet. It was refreshing and unique. I also picked up a variety of pastries and desserts to bring to a dinner party, including the vanilla bean doughnut, chocolate doughnut, fruit tarts, raisin swirl, mango croissant, strawberry croissant, feta & spinach pastry, and blueberry cream pastry. Every single item was a hit with the group. One thing I really appreciate about their pastries is that they're flavorful and satisfying without being overwhelmingly sweet. My personal favorites were the feta & spinach pastry, the blueberry cream pastry, and the vanilla bean doughnut, all incredibly fresh and well balanced in flavor. The atmosphere is clean, welcoming, and perfect for either a quick coffee stop or sitting down to enjoy a pastry. The staff has also been friendly during both visits. A couple tips if you plan to visit:* Download their app and sign up for the rewards program, they offer coupons and points that add up quickly.* They currently have a happy hour Monday-Thursday from 2-5 PM with $3 small drinks.* If you want the best pastry selection, weekends and weekday mornings seem to offer the best variety. We'll definitely be coming back to try even more items!

First time at a Tous Les location. This indeed a chain bakery. I had honestly had never heard of them before, but was immediately impressed with their operation. I've now been back a few times. The location is really ideal. It's not quite directly off First Colonial, but close. It's on the corner with Walmart. Signage is better from the West than North. I don't recall anything at the road. There is plenty of parking and the lot was clean. Once entering I was taken back. It's large, contemporary vibe and a large amount of bakery items in cases. Customers begin cafeteria style getting a tray and tongs and open the doors on cases. I received help from two staff members that were fantastic! They were welcoming and smiled. More importantly they provided suggestions. I ended up getting three items my first visit. Ube doughnut (these are often sold out), mushroom pastry that served warm and a spinach pastry. I added a coffee. Checkout was smooth and they are pricey. I sat down in a clean dining room and first tried the mushroom pastry. It blew me away. The taste, texture, smell were all there. Next the feta spinach danish pastry. I did not care for it as in my opinion it lacked flavor. I saved the sweetest item for last, the Ube. It was worth the hype by the two staff that assisted me. Sugar is visible from the outside, the flavor of the Ube frosting was everything! The texture of the dough was soft and melt on your mouth. It was my favorite, but on another visit I got the mushroom again. The coffe was good, not great. I feel confident Tous will do well and I'm going to round up on a 4.5. This is a high recommend for me.

This is the third location of this bakery I've tried. The first time was in Philadelphia, and the second time was Newport News. All three locations were good and the shops are pleasant and inviting. I've seen people working on their laptops at all three locations. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the shop, it's definitely the largest of the three. The staff were friendly even though they were slammed and the shop was clean. I tried waiting a few weeks for the frenzy to die down but I went close to lunch time. First thing I noticed was that they had a nice selection to choose from and they were backfilling as the line was moving. Everything I bought looked and tasted fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back to try more of their amazing pastries.

Super cute place! Glad we came on a week day I can imagine this place is packed on the weekend. So many choices but we went with sweet! The strawberry croissant was good, we got lucky that they brought more out. Also tried the ube donut which unfortunately was just whipped cream and not a custard base, it was okay but not what I wanted or expected. The lattes were both really good & everyone was super nice! I even grabbed 2 jalapeño cheddar croissants to take home & they heated up great.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time, so I was excited when it finally opened in Virgina Beach . There was a good amount of parking, and the store was pretty busy when I visited. The Ambiance was good, had good amount of seating. I went in the evening, so some pastries were already sold out, but there were still plenty of options to choose from. I ended up trying the croquettes, custard bun, and mango cloud cake. The croquettes were fabulous, really flavorful, but I do wish they had been heated up since they were served cold. The flavor was very Good!! The custard bun was just okay. It was soft and slightly sweet, but the bun itself had a strong egg flavor that didn't quite work for me. The mango cake was amazing! The cream was light, and the mango flavor really stood out. I didn't get a chance to try their coffee this time, but I'd come back to try more items.

My friends and I stopped by Tous Les Jours around 4pm on a Saturday. The place was pretty packed but we were excited to grab a few pastries and other items. As soon as we walked in, we realized that everyone had a tray and tongs so we grabbed a tray and started looking to see what we wanted. As we walked around, we noticed bread, muffins, bagels, danishes and croissants, to name a few. Unfortunately, most of the pastries were gone by the time we arrived but they were doing their best to bring out more while we were there. We had to grab what we wanted quickly because people were ready and waiting for those pastries lol. I grabbed a Chocolate Crescent, a Sweet Cheese & Blueberry Danish, a Sweet Cream Donut, Chocolate Almond Crescent and Strawberry & Cream Pastry. While we were in line, they had a beautiful array of cakes to choose from so I decided to try the Mango Cloud Cake. All of the pastries were good in their own way. My favorite was the Sweet Cheese & Blueberry Danish. Overall, the staff were very pleasant and I love how they had a large seating area for people that want to dine in. Each pastry ranged from about $4-7 so it can be a bit pricey depending on what you get but I definitely plan on returning to try other pastries. They also offer coffee, tea, and smoothies as well. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!

This is only down the street from the other Korean bakery chain I like. While I like both, I would have to say TLJ has a significant extensive variety of both sweet and savory items! It can be overwhelming. From premade packaged sandwiches and other savories, the sweet goods are also abundant and not terribly sweet. Although, I love that they have samples out at the pay counter, I might have sampled a bit much in addition to consuming some of my purchases in store that I started to feel hyperglycemic. Yeah don't do what I did. So it's nice that they have complimentary lemon water available. Grab a tray and pair of tongs and parchment paper to place on the tray and use the tongs to choose your items for purchase from the case. They also have slices of cake available in the refrigerated cases and whole cakes for purchase for celebrations, some you have to purchase a few days in advance. In addition, they have an assortment of iced teas, hot tea, lattes, and boba drinks. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards app. I forgot to. I had the iced tiramisu latte which was really good and would get again, my sister had a tea which she said was refreshing and zero sugar added. We split the matcha croissant and the chocolate cloud donut. I really liked the chocolate cloud donut which was light but the matcha as ridiculous as I sound was super matcha for me. Maybe it's my tastebuds but it was fishy tasting and smelling to me. My sister loved it so I let her have the rest. I picked up a turkey or ham tomato sandwich for my brother and a strawberry croissant and he said both were very good. I also purchased the yuzu pie and the slice of peach cream cake for later which the yuzu pie was flaky and yummy and the peach cream cake was ok. I wouldn't personally get the peach cake. I bought the slice of chocolate cloud cake and cloud cake donut for my husband. They tend to sell out of their items fast, so if you're able to go earlier in the day, do it, otherwise you may have slim pickings.

The interior was clean, spacious and lots of seating. Came on a Saturday afternoon and everything was well stocked and had lots of variety. I did go once in the evening and only had some pastries available so do go early! The cashier in the front was friendly and helpful. The slice of cake we wanted was still apparently still frozen so we chose the strawberry cream cake, very delicious still. The chocolate pretzel was flaky and had the perfect amount of chocolate. Great pastries but definitely on a pricey side. Almost $13 for 2 treats.

Well welcome to Virginia Beach Tous Les Jours! We never knew how much we needed this place. We showed up today to see what the buzz was all about. When you walk in there's different glass showcases with an assortment of different pastries. They have pretzels, donuts, sandwiches, cakes, coffee, macaroons ,and much more!! The inside is pretty big and has a decent amount of seating. It's a modern feel. If you go later in the day it's a chance they won't have everything available. You grab a tray, load up on goodies, then get in line for everything to be boxed up, and you pay. The line was a little long, but it moved and we were out in about 25-30 minutes. The staff were friendly even though it was a little overwhelming. As soon as they brought trays out with more, it would be gone quickly. So if you see what you want, get it right away!! Lol. I looked at a donut and turned around and they were all gone. I got a strawberry cream dessert, a vanilla cream donut, spinach feta danish, and a bacon and egg croissant. The prices are reasonable in a way, but at the same time it's expensive. Most single pastries were $4.25-$6.75. The strawberry cream dessert was so good and so was the spinach danish. I regret not getting 2 of each. The vanilla cream donut was also tasty. I love the filling. The bacon and egg croissant was pretty good as well. It was all definitely enjoyable for me. If you're diabetic it's the world's biggest temptation because it's bread galore!! I'm pumping insulin right now while looking at what I want tomorrow. I want to try everything!! Lol. I thought I was getting my life together until I set foot inside this wonderful place! I definitely want to gatekeep because I want something to be left for me, but I don't think it matters. People are loving this place. So if you don't like crowds or lines, wait until it dies down. I definitely recommend trying it! The concept of getting everything you want on a tray yourself is pretty cool. This place checked all the boxes for me. They have 2 registers, but I think more could make things go a little more smoothly. Check them out!!

Stopped by Tous les Jours during opening weekend, so as expected, there was a long line and a lot of people! If you're planning to visit in the next few months while they're still new, definitely temper expectations for wait times. That said, they're clearly popular for a reason: the pastry selection is impressive, and the drinks are solid too. The staff were incredibly busy but still remained polite and helpful while working through the typical opening kinks. You could tell they were doing their best to keep things moving despite the nonstop flow of customers. I ordered the matcha tiramisu latte, the "Franks" pastry, and the blueberry crème pastry. All three were delicious! The latte was nicely sweetened with the matcha well mixed (no clumps, which I appreciated). The Franks pastry was a great savory option, topped with a hot dog and the classic hot dog condiments = very satisfying. The blueberry crème pastry was the perfect finishing touch - lightly sweet and not overwhelming. Everything tasted fresh, and you could genuinely tell these pastries were made recently. Despite how crowded it was, I was able to find seating without much trouble since there's a pretty good amount of tables available. Some spots even have outlets nearby, making it a solid option if you're planning to study or work for a bit. Everything was fantastic EXCEPT one nitpicky thing that I took notice of in the bathroom: the stall spaces felt really wide, especially in the big stall! Awkward eye contact possibility with people outside the stall seemed pretty high there lol. Overall though it was quite fabulous, I would absolutely come back to try more! I'm officially a fan!

Curry Croquette, Spinach Feta Danish, Ube Cloud Cream Donut, Matcha Cream Cheese Croissant
    Kaitlin A.

Honestly this place is a let down for me. The bread making is great, perfect fluffy and crisp textures. Slightly sweet flavor as well. Unfortunately the fillings are a bit lacking. The ube donut doesn't have a pronounced ube flavor despite the vibrancy of the cream, and the spinach and feta needed salt. The curry was a yellow based curry with potatoes, which tasted great but wasn't filled much. You could eat a bite around the whole pastry and only have the bread, very centrally located filling. While the bread was soft and delicate, if I'm paying $4 for a filled pastry, I want it to be a filled pastry. Same could be said for the matcha croissant. Great matcha flavor, if you're not big on the grassy flavor this isn't for you, it was a little on the unsweet side of matcha. However, a lot of the filling was on the top, not enough in the center. You have to take a bite or two to get to the filling part, unless you want to smear the top cream all over. I should also note the ube donut was VERY filled, so I feel it's not as if they don't know how. As far as my latte, it was also not enough ube flavor or coffee flavor. It tastes like sweet milk with a hint of ube. Angie's Bakery makes a better one. I was hoping this place would knock my socks off with the hype this place has had, but if anything the most impressive part is the interior, and how they keep the pastries in the case so moist throughout the day. Looks can be deceiving, and this is one of those cases. I wanted to come back to try their cakes and macarons, but I think I'll just try another shop if this is how their pastries are. As far as customer service goes, this place has very friendly staff. I would say at least try it once, but to not have high expectations if you do.

This place is very cute and decent sized. The cashier was very nice and friendly and helpful. They had everything in stock when we went at 11am. The mango smoothie was also very fresh. I can't wait to go back when lent is over for bulgogi minis since I couldn't eat it this time since I gave up meat for the whole lent.

I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.

I saw the empanadas in the corner, and I know I'm already gonna have to come back to try more. She told me how to keep the pendesal fresh, and I thanked her and went to my car to try the breads. I'm grateful for a son who's willing to wait in line for over an hour to give me Ube pastries lol…read more I've been trying to get to a Jack Eats pop-up for years, but the timing has never been right...until today! We got the Ube Loaded Cake, Ube Cream Puff, Ube Fatty Cookies, and Ube Blondie. Everything was amazing and, next time, we will definitely get more. Our favorite was the Ube Loaded Cake. I loved my Mother's Day treats!!

While there…read moreis no shortage of great filipino food in NYC, this place does something quite special which is hard to find - merging authentic filipino flavors in a well-crafted, delicious and new way. Everything I've had here is delicious, but here are some of my favorites: UBE BLONDIES *** Probably one of their most signature items that stays on the menu season to season, this crumbly, satisfyingly dense, soft baked good with that nice punch of ube flavor will really have you coming back for more. The frosting glaze is just perfect, adding that sweetness that carries the ube flavor really nicely. The texture is just soooo satisfying, you can just tell when you cut your fork through it that it has this airy, yet dense and crumbly texture. TURON FRITTER Kind of like an apple fritter, but oh so crumbly, delicious, bright, and soft on the inside. Also had their brown sugar boba pudding cup when it came out, and it was really good; the tapioca actually blended quite nicely and was chewy and fresh, which means you're not stuck chewing it forever. Definitely on the sweeter side, but brown sugar items tend to be that way.

I recently visited this cake and pastry shop and was pleasantly surprised…read more Pretty decent selection. A little something for everyone. There's a decent variety of cakes, pastries, and smaller treats, ranging from classic options to more unique/traditional flavors (I'm assuming filipino). The display cases were well organized with price tags clearly visible and the counters and seating areas were clean and tidy. The presentation of the pastries were also pretty neat and organized. As a matter of fact, the entire time I was eating my meal, my server was going around cleaning up various areas and restocking. I always appreciate a good worker and a clean environment. My server was also very helpful in describing the menu to me, and had greeted me with a smile upon entering. Thanks Kathleen! As for the bathroom, it was alright, but not exceptional. It was functional and had the essentials aka soap and a hand dryer, but it could benefit from some improvements. Urinal was completely out of order and toilet was a bit weak. I suggest implementing a paper towel system instead of the hand dryer. Much more sanitary that way. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. I left thinking I'd found a great "hole-in-the-wall" bakeshop, only to later find out that it's actually a fairly popular asian bakery chain! Wild. Definitely try it out.

I was tempted to pick up some packaged bakery treats, but held firm and only ordered the 2 halo-halo's for me and my husband. It wasn't a day to share. Lol. I liked how Red Ribbon had a Fresh Free Sample display for Choco Mousse for you to try! Nice! The cashier was friendly and served me with a smile. The halo- halo was not as sweet as I prefer, but it was still a tasty Filipino treat with the traditional fixings. My husband enjoyed his halo-halo but did mention it could have been creamier. Wondering now if it needed more evaporated milk. Hmmm? Nonetheless, halo-halo on a warm weather day hit the spot!
