For the food, it was a bit hit or miss for me. I didn't really care for the curries, but some dishes definitely stood out. The dynamite shrimp was really good, the fish was flavorful, and the masala dosa was a favorite. The biryani was also solid. Mughal is located on the NE corner of Northwest highway & Touhy in Park Ridge. The food is remarkable & the best Indian Food I ever had. Now I don't claim to be an expert on Indian Cuisine, but I know what I like & to my palette their food is outstanding. Mughal is a nice restaurant, but the service is a little odd. You come in & no one greets you. They give you a menu & disappear to the back. Not being very knowledgeable about the different dishes is a bit confusing & overwhelming. The menu has a fairly large selection of food items but no description of what the dish is or what's in it. Two things that would help is to elaborate on the food items and give a written description of what's in the dish. Not everyone is familiar with Indian cuisine & what goes into the dish When it comes time to order there is a white square pad w/around button that serves as a call button summoning the server. Please print new menus that elaborate & tell the diner what the dish is and what the ingredients are in the dish & maybe have a little more interaction w/the diners & server. The staff member said "I understand" but never apologized or offered any restitution. I'm not asking for the moon and stars, but a free dessert and some sincerity would have meant something. They have two problems to solve: first, getting real-time feedback from the store to the online app, so that the app can give accurate estimates of the wait times. And second, handling a busy situation in the store with grace and empathy.

My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important.
