We really enjoyed our visit here and we usually make it a point to come to this location when we're in town as it's convenient for the places we stay near carrier circle. They have awesome drinks and food with good prices. They have cute art for sale all over the place that you can buy and we got a super cute cat picture. There are a good number of tables and chairs to eat inside and some tables outside as well. My only complaint about this place is the one staff member with the blonde /brown hair. She's got a bad attitude and is very rude to customers and seems genuinely unhappy to be there. I'm bringing it up only because it's now happened three consecutive times we've visited which is saying something because that's over a period of 3 consecutive years....

Cafe kubal is our go to place for coffee, brunch sandwiches whether we order through Grubhub or we are walking in. They are super quick and have always been super nice! They also just expanded so it's much bigger with an extra room where you can sit and do work! When we order for delivery, everything comes wrapped, tidy, and still warm. Some of their sandwiches have changed and are not updated on the menu; however, they are very good at calling you for substitutions, which is greatly appreciated. The past two times when we have ordered, our coffee was made incorrectly and a sandwich was incorrect. Maybe a glitch! But their coffee is great even with nothing extra in it!!

    The service counter. Yummy scones!

We stopped in to this Cafe Kubal on a wends early afternoon.we had never been to this location . A young man and young woman were working. We frequently go to Manlius and North Syracuse locations ( which we love) The ambience was very different at this location. No one was speaking . Neither staff member spoke to us.We had to pull answers from the young man at register and he couldn't answer questions about coffee. We order Lg Carmel late , and light roast reg. Med coffees. We ordered 2 scones, Blueberry Jalapeño. And Strawberry. Both were dry and seemed stale . ( we have gotten this many times b4 at other Cace Kubals) When I asked about the art work the girl said . Well what does the tag say? I used the small bathroom. The were no towel and basket was overflowing! We were very disappointed !I

This spot is really great and nested right in the Eastwood neighborhood. It's in the end of the plaza near Thompson road and has a lot of character and great vibes. I ordered an iced americano and hung out while it was getting prepared. Great way to start my Friday off.

We are coffee snobs and always seek out the best coffee houses when we are traveling around the country. We ordered two different drinks and both were perfectly made to our specs. The quality of the beans they use is very good.

Really lovely coffee. Yogurt and hard boiled eggs for you paleo-type eaters... The staff are always delightfully pleasant to myself and my child.

Kubal is a regular staple for me in my quest for caffeination. The coffee itself always seems to be a little under roasted for my tastes so I usually stick with espresso based beverages here. My go to being a vanilla latte. The vanilla here is pretty mild and gives just enough boost to the natural sweetness of steamed milk and espresso. I haven't had any food from this location but if it's anything like what is prepared downtown do yourself a favor and order something if you have a hankering. This location can be a little tricky to get out of if you need to head towards Thompson Rd and the parking lot can be tough to maneuver if you have a truck. For these reasons I tend to only go on lunch one every week or two. The café is homey and cute and has sufficient comfy seats for the size of the building. It is generally kept very clean which is a definite plus. The baristas are generally very nice though sometimes a bit pretentious. One scoffed at me when they had found out that I had worked at Starbucks for many years. Sorry I liked my barista job to come with a side of health benefits and tuition reimbursement! Also, I learned to make espresso beverages on the same espresso machine they are using before they made the switch to the all manual machines they use today!

White bean kale soup, amazing and delicious!!!

Overall, I enjoyed my visit. The vibe was relaxed and low-key, making it a good place to sit down and get some work done. I spent some time working while I was there and appreciated having a space where I could focus without feeling rushed. The staff was pleasant, and one of the employees was kind enough to take a picture for me when I asked, which I appreciated. The only thing that stood out to me was that there wasn't much of a greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, but it wasn't a huge issue. The seating was okay. The chair I chose wasn't the most comfortable for an extended stay, but it got the job done. There was also some rock music playing during my visit, which helped create a casual atmosphere. I didn't order any coffee or food this time around, so I can't speak to the menu yet. This visit was more about finding a place to work and unwind for a bit. Would I come back? Yes. While I'm still searching for my go-to coffee lounge in Syracuse, Recess is definitely a spot I'd visit again. It has a chill, unpretentious vibe that makes it easy to settle in and spend some time there. I forgot to take more pictures will do when I go back.

I found myself with some work to do on a Saturday morning and decided to swing by. There's on street parking on the block it's on and surrounding blocks. There's also an abandoned store across the street with a small lot, which is where I wound up parking. The space is small but I didn't have any trouble finding a seat, though I imagine that might be a different case later in the day or during peak study time for the students. I got an ube iced coffee special with oat milk, and impulsively ordered the breakfast burrito too. I figured if they have shirts advertising the burrito, it must be good. The decor is very trendy and chic and well-curated, and you'll feel super hip hanging out here. The coffee was alright but my shot was a bit on the bitter side - assuming this was just a one-off. The breakfast burrito lived up to the hype. Fluffy eggs, perfectly crispy pressed tortilla, a flavorful aioli generously slathered all over the plate. Definitely one of the places to come (if not THE place) in Syracuse if you want a breakfast burrito. Unfortunately for me, the WiFi was down when I went, so I couldn't actually do my work and didn't stay long. Womp womp. Perhaps unavoidable, but definitely not ideal for a coffee shop. I wish I'd brought a book with me that day or had more time just to spend, because I'd say this spot is great for silent reading and unplugging more than working or socializing. Worth checking out, for the aesthetics and the tasty egg burritos.

They are a fast casual breakfast & lunch shop whose main selling point is they keep things simple and cheap. I've driven by Sunshine's many time, as it's on my way to work. I have gone twice now for breakfast. The first time, I got one of their sandwich specials with a bacon & ham omelet with cheese on a bagel. I've also tried a sausage, egg & cheese on a croissant, along with their home fries & hash browns. Here's the thing...nothing here is BAD. But it is bland. Sunshines is exactly what they market themselves as - fast, cheap and SIMPLE. Nothing is seasoned enough, their potatoes are slightly undercooked (as in very soft, no crisp to them, not raw), and even their meats don't seem to have much flavor to them. If all you're looking for is a VERY simple meal, Sunshine has you covered. If you're looking for something with some more flavor or creativity, it may not be the breakfast spot for you

I've tried a few things there but I always come back to their breakfast sandwiches. They're made fresh. They have a variety of options. They always get handed to you hot as they are made to order. They usually have some form of doughnuts or even sweet options in the fridge- fruit, baked goods, pudding, etc. They have a great fridge selection of beverages like sodas or juice.
