Walking into…read morethis gem of a cafe is like walking into the wood cabin of my dreams - warm, inviting atmosphere with the scent of brewing coffee and tea, filled with local artisan products and two yoga studios up the back stairs. The space is clean, cozy, and comforting! The owners and staff are amazing as well! Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and patient. The owners are very knowledgeable about their coffee and tea products; Christina is in charge of the tea (and yoga) and makes her own blends, and John is in charge of the coffee and roasts the beans in house. You can absolutely tell how much care and knowledge both put into their craft and their products. I had an iced brown sugar shaken espresso, and it was exceptional! Smooth and balanced, the perfect amount of sweetness! It was, hands down, the best coffee drink I've ever had! I can't wait to come back to try their single origin coffee next time!

At the counter they have a case of baked goods, I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll, but my partner found it too dry. The employees were super nice, which is always a plus at a business where customizing your order is part of the process. I will say that the pu-er tea late that I ordered was very weak. Even with a cinnamon brown sugar flavor shot it felt lacking. They sell a large variety of loose leaf teas, shirts, granola, and other goodies. For those who are religious, they have a prayer board where you can write prayers and hang them up. If I was going off just aesthetics the place looks great, but the tea was lacking, and the cinnamon roll only appeased 1 out of 2 people so I think I'm forced to give it a 3 out of 5.

Overall, I enjoyed my visit. The vibe was relaxed and low-key, making it a good place to sit down and get some work done. I spent some time working while I was there and appreciated having a space where I could focus without feeling rushed. The staff was pleasant, and one of the employees was kind enough to take a picture for me when I asked, which I appreciated. The only thing that stood out to me was that there wasn't much of a greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, but it wasn't a huge issue. The seating was okay. The chair I chose wasn't the most comfortable for an extended stay, but it got the job done. There was also some rock music playing during my visit, which helped create a casual atmosphere. I didn't order any coffee or food this time around, so I can't speak to the menu yet. This visit was more about finding a place to work and unwind for a bit. Would I come back? Yes. While I'm still searching for my go-to coffee lounge in Syracuse, Recess is definitely a spot I'd visit again. It has a chill, unpretentious vibe that makes it easy to settle in and spend some time there. I forgot to take more pictures will do when I go back.

They are a fast casual breakfast & lunch shop whose main selling point is they keep things simple and cheap. I've driven by Sunshine's many time, as it's on my way to work. I have gone twice now for breakfast. The first time, I got one of their sandwich specials with a bacon & ham omelet with cheese on a bagel. I've also tried a sausage, egg & cheese on a croissant, along with their home fries & hash browns. Here's the thing...nothing here is BAD. But it is bland. Sunshines is exactly what they market themselves as - fast, cheap and SIMPLE. Nothing is seasoned enough, their potatoes are slightly undercooked (as in very soft, no crisp to them, not raw), and even their meats don't seem to have much flavor to them. If all you're looking for is a VERY simple meal, Sunshine has you covered. If you're looking for something with some more flavor or creativity, it may not be the breakfast spot for you

It's a lovely little spot especially if you are looking to get breakfast on the go but they do have limited seating. Depending on the time & day you arrive- the place may be packed or you may be able to get in & go. These are not things to keep you away but an honest acknowledgment that they work very hard to make you your order as quickly as possible but sometimes there are a lot of people who had the same idea as you to stop by. I've tried a few things there but I always come back to their breakfast sandwiches. They're made fresh. They have a variety of options. They always get handed to you hot as they are made to order. They usually have some form of doughnuts or even sweet options in the fridge- fruit, baked goods, pudding, etc. They have a great fridge selection of beverages like sodas or juice. They have very good fresh coffee there that to my experience is always hot. It's overall a great spot to grab a bite to-go & support local.
