Cafe La Maison Smith was recommended to us while in Quebec City. We stopped in for an afternoon coffee and pastry, and what a gem. The service was friendly and fast, and just a great little cafe with plenty of seating. The interior is clean, modern and cozy. Mr. Bee ordered a latte, and when I spotted the Macarons, that is my jam. We ordered six, three maple syrup, two cafe latte and one Hazelnut. The maple syrup and hazelnut were my favorites, but honestly they were all incredible. Macaron's are hard to make and hard to get right. These were perfect. A crunch to the outer shell and the middle was creamy and the flavors were a bit subtle, but excellent. Just enough to let you know what you were eating. If I lived in Quebec City, this spot would be dangerous for me. The latte Mr. Bee ordered was also great. It was creamy, not bitter and really delicious. Cafe La Maison Smith was a great little stop for an afternoon snack and rest.

Un arrêt pour prendre un sandwich pour la route. Endroit bien placé pour un café et une pause

Each morning during our week long stay, we went here for coffee and pastries. We couldn't imagine a better way to start our day. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the coffee and pastries were excellent. Sitting at the window and looking out at the beautiful view just added to it all.

A cute cafe with plenty of seating with friendly and helpful staff near the cathedral of Norte dame and the hotel Frontenac. The pastries here is good but not as good as Baguette and Chocolat.

This was the best bakery with pastries we found in QC while we stayed in town. They had such a great range from all sweets to the savory too. A huge drink menu, and a pretty nice place to sit and enjoy them all. We went in the breakfast rush time and waited in line patiently! The service was pretty quick and the line moved quickly. I had a really nice dirty chai latte, served in a lovely cup, my friend had a latte also a good morning cup of joe. We chose the strawberry chocolate croissant , plain croissant, vegetable quiche, and the veggie pizza. The strawberry one was different from most croissants, thinner and filled with chocolate and the strawberry was on the outside. This was really good, rich, flaky, but I loved you could taste the flavors. The plain croissant was just delicious, buttery and kinda melted in your mouth. The savory ones were all tasty too, the quiche was lovely and creamy, lots of veggies and a nice thin crust. The pizza was lighter with some veggies and cheese. Loved the dough on this. Light and spongy. Not heavy at all. We certainly left here FULL! They have so many wonderful items on display here it's hard to decide, hence our 4 ! Get here early or they do run out of some of the most popular ones. This is one of the more popular bakeries in town, they have another branch too. This is definitely on my revisit page when I come back here.

This was a great coffee shop that was centrally located and spacious. It has a very open, bright and airy ambience. As busy as it was, the service was fast and friendly. The drinks and pastries were pretty good. They had a good array of espresso, coffee, and tea offerings. I enjoyed my dirty chai and croissant at the bar looking out onto the street. It was a great way to jumpstart my day before exploring Old Quebec.

The workers were very friendly and helpful and the almond milk latte I ordered was delicious! The cafe had a nice assortment of pastries and an extensive drink menu as well.

im a big fan of café culture and loved seeing so many cafés around the city, even though it may be a chain. pastries were tasty, carrot cake was a little dry at the end of the day but paired well with tea and coffee. i loved seeing the barista whip out the matcha whisk, making it even more authentic. i loved the iced pistachio latte as well, and the flavor was nice and light.

We discovered Cafe la Maison Smith around the corner from our hotel and once we did, visited every morning of our 3 day June stay in Old Quebec. The entire staff worked so well together as a team and were quick and pleasant. There were so many delicious pastries to choose from but I could not bear to miss a morning with out the bacon quiche and huge croissant shared with my husband for three mornings in a row in thier oh so charming courtyard! Thank you all!

Cute alleyway outdoor seating to enjoy a coffee. They offer a great selection of coffee drinks and pastries. The cold brew latte is smooth and bitter (in a good way). Nice place for a break in the shade.

The menu is not extensive - it's boards on the wall. It makes it very easy to pick or decide if this place is for you or not. We were very excited for crepes and croissants. We were able to get both. We manage to snag enough seats for the 6 of us, we pulled some tables together. It's not a large space, however, there were a couple of parties that had at least 5 people. You order at the counter and then take a seat or step to the side and wait for your name to be called. If you are sitting they will bring the food to you. We ordered a few crepes which we all loved. Nutella, Western, Traditional. Made fresh to order - the kids really enjoyed watching the gentleman make them. They were delicious and beautifully created. The Almond croissant - was flakey and delicious. I would definitely return and recommend.

We ordered- Croissant, Coffee, Crepe. We enjoyed our little snack time, with a sip of coffee and crepe, watching people outside... I like small, cute cafes instead of big corporate chain restaurants. It feels like culture and more personal. This incredibly flaky, scrumptious croissant makes the crispiest sound of 'em all. Filled with buttery goodness, Paillard's almond croissant is also not to be missed.

Picture this: soft snow falling on the cobblestone streets of Petit-Champlain, fairy lights glowing, and the warm light spilling out of this beautiful little café. I ducked in both mornings of my short trip and could have happily stayed all day. The interior is perfect Québécois charm: exposed stone walls, wooden beams, cozy lighting, and that unbeatable smell of fresh baking. First morning I ordered the pistachio latte and the quiche Florentine. I would legitimately sell my firstborn for that pistachio latte: silky, perfectly balanced, with a rich, natural pistachio flavor that no syrup could ever match. One sip and I was ruined for life. The quiche was flawless: buttery, flaky crust, creamy spinach-and-cheese filling, baked to golden perfection. Absolute breakfast heaven. I braved a full-on snowglobe blizzard the next morning just to come back. This time I paired the same life-changing pistachio latte with the almond croissant. I'd hand over my other kid for daily access to these croissants (kidding... mostly). Impossibly crisp and flaky outside, cloud-soft inside, generously stuffed with fragrant almond paste, topped with toasted almonds and powdered sugar. I ate it slowly by the window while the snow piled up on Rue Notre-Dame and honestly felt like the luckiest person alive. The baristas were friendly, the vibe warm and unhurried, and everything was flawless. If you're in Quebec City, make La Maison Smith non-negotiable (and budget time to visit at least twice). Five stars isn't enough. This place is winter-morning perfection.

The latte I get had a weak taste of espresso and tasted a bit more watery than I'd like. I got a pastry in the morning. Nothing special but also nothing bad. Perhaps their other drinks are better but my latte was simply okay. Service was fast and prompt though.
