Came here early before any of the festivities for happy hour and the bar filled up quick! The interior feels like you've been transported to the past, I can only imagine how it feels at night with the performances. The drinks were good and my husband really enjoyed his choripan.

If you're craving Cuban food, this is the spot. Just make sure you make a reservation no matter what day of the week it is, this place stays packed. We ordered a ton, and right off the bat: if you love croquetas and empanadas, order extra. They're on the smaller side and come individually, but they are so good they disappear fast. The beef empanadas were a 10/10 perfectly seasoned and crispy. The chicken empanadas didn't hit the same for me, but the jamón croquetas? Absolutely insane. A must. For appetizers, the prawns al ajillo were delicious super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was good, but not my favorite. It leaned a bit bland for my taste, even with the sauce. Now, the must-get: the carnitas with pickled onions. Easily one of the best dishes of the night so flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, we had the ribeye steak and arroz con pollo, plus sides of tostones and yuca. Everything here delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right not overly salty. The arroz con pollo was phenomenal, the kind of dish you could eat every single day. The tostones were crispy and tossed in garlic, which took the flavor to another level, and the yuca was melt-in-your-mouth good. I also ordered a mojito, which unfortunately was very watered down, I barely got any of that classic mojito flavor. Service overall was solid, especially considering how loud the restaurant gets it was honestly hard to hear each other at the table, so shoutout to our server for keeping everything straight. The appetizers came out quickly, back-to-back, which we loved. The only downside was the wait for the entrées they took quite a while after we finished the apps, even though we ordered everything at once. Overall, amazing food, great energy, and definitely worth going just be prepared for a lively (and loud) atmosphere.

YUM. I recently came here with a group of ten and absolutely loved it. We made a reservation and were give a table right in front of the stage and live music - the atmosphere is such a vibe! We ordered a few apps to share and then each had our own entree. The food was simply delicious - such high quality and flavorful. My personal favorite bites were the halloumi, ceviche and the seafood stew. Fresh and fun!

I've been meaning to come here for years and glad we finally made our way in. The food was so good, the drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere was so fun. Although we went for a private event, I have a feeling the vibes are just as fantastic on a normal day so I'll have to come back and confirm. The service was also great even with a packed bar. Standouts are the arroz con pollo and the old fashioned.

For a night filled with live Cuban music, tons of salsa, great cocktails and delicious Cuban food then cafe La trova located in little Havana is the spot. The place is filled with Cuban nostalgia decor which makes you feel like you've been transported to the island. The Cuban food really surprised me with is creativity and flavor. The pulpo was cooked to perfection. Their Cuban sandwich empanadas and jamón croquetas brought be back to my childhood. The highlight for me had to be the ropa vieja with rice and beans. That was a 10/10 for its flavor, size of the plate and the price. I'd recommend that to anyone who wants to try great Cuban cuisine. Will definitely be making my way back for some more dancing and delicious food.

Cafe La Trova is a vibe. It was packed inside when we arrived and luckily got seats at the bar. The band was in full swing and people were dining, chatting, and dancing. We had to wait a bit to order our drinks as shortly after sitting down, the bartenders started playing musical instruments joining the live band and then they solely played. Such a fun and lively start to our night! We were able to order drinks after the bartenders finished. We tried a bunch - Diaquiri, Mojito, Presidente, Cubano Viejo, and La Trova Old Fashioned. They were all pretty good overall. We also got a bit hungry and ordered their Skirt Steak Ropa Vieja which was delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. Such a fun place!

Cafe La Trova is a vibe. It's fun, lively, and very Miami. For a party of two, we shared the following: -jamon serrano croquetas ($13): with melty cheese and fig jam -queso frito ($15): fried halloumi cheese, tomato-raisin-Jerez stew with crunchy capers -empanadas -arrroz con pollo ($29): bombsrice, saffron, cerveza, free range chicken braised in its own juices To be completely fair, I thought the food could have been stood for a little more seasoning. The apps as well as our entree tasted very safe. Given the diverse crowd the restaurant draws, I get it. The food doesn't polarize any palette. We also ordered the chicken and rice because everybody on the Internet talks about it and it was pretty underwhelming. There just wasn't any oomph to the dish. I'd stick to the appetizers. I'd recommend stopping in for a drink if you're not ready to commit to meal. The dueling music action is super fun if you love live music.

Lovely restaurant with a unique menu and live music. Everything we had was yummy from start to finish. The music wasn't too loud like it has been at other venues in the area. Down the street you can get to the main drag and see a lot of different bars and restaurant. There is a nice ambiance and lots of seating but it was full. They get so busy that there is a 2 hour limit for the meal and they suggest one of the two bars after that if you want to stay longer to listen to the music. If you can't get a reservation, if you have an Amex Platinum then you can get one through the Global Dining Access program when booking through Resy. Bonus: you can use your Resy dining credits there if you have a Gold or Platinum card.

In short: Old world retro Havana meets contemporary Cuban Cuisine. Cafe La Trova from the outside appears to be a tiny Casita but once the doors open you are transported to a Bar in Havana. Live music on stage , tables of couples and families socializing and walls adorned with photos from way before I could remember . I knew instantly I would love it here. James Beard Award winning chef Michelle Bernstein collaborated with the famous Catinero Julio Cabrera to open Cafe La Trova in 2019. I'm glad it survived the pandemic because it took me years to finally come here. Appetizers: Lobster croquetas with a scampi aioli.. very unique.. I recommend them. Queso frito made with halloumi cheese... it was a nice Latin take. Delicious. Buñuelo de bacalao with an aioli dipping sauce... I'm not sure if I haven't had bacalao in a while but it was very salty ... I know.. it's salted cod but it was too much for me at the moment. Main dishes: I had a lechon... it was scrumptious of course and my companion had the Rabo Encendido pasta. The Oxtail was so tender I felt like you barely needed to chew it. Dessert: Michy's bread pudding.. very light and not too heavy like many bread puddings. Service was great and I command our server for being able to communicate in such a loud space. I repeat, it is verrry loud here. But I am completely fine with this boisterous environment.. I loved it. Chef Michelle Bernstein never disappoints. Good food, live music and an atmosphere that makes you feel alive . Come for the food and stay for vibe.

If you visit Miami make a reservation for 7:30 so you can enjoy the live music. The food is amazing the service was great and the cocktails don't disappoint. The exterior is very deceiving as to the fantastic vibe and experience that awaits inside. Enjoy!

On May 1, 2026, my spouse and I visited Little Havana from California. I had watched some YouTube videos on places to eat. Cafe La Trova was AMAZING!!!! 5 stars!!! The empanadas and arroz con pollo was amazing!!! Some of the best food I've ever had! And our server was Manuel, such a friendly and knowledgeable guy. We'll definitely be going back to La Trova next time we're in Miami.

We were in town for the weekend and decided we wanted some yummy Cuban food Read the reviews and decided to give La Trova a try. From the moment we walked in we were treated like special guests. The lively Cuban music in the background, dancing bartenders, decor all make for a really fun night. We weren't that hungry but shared the stuffed Branzino, coconut rice and maduros. These were all yum! The mojitos were a little weak on the alcohol however.

Ambiance great nothing to argue there. I'd say during covid they sat us right near other tables (less than 6 ft for sure). If you are any bit worried about covid I'd avoid at all costs. Empanadas were good. The lechon with chicharrones barely had any chicharrones. Regular drink pricing ok but my single malt scotch was $24 for an exact ounce. I know because I was in the business for 20 years. Ridiculous price, this is not NYC. The reason I won't go back if they don't charge it is that the include 18% tip with the alcohol and sales tax included in the bill before calculating. Who is anyone to decide the tip you wish to leave? Maybe I'm a 30% tipper? It is inappropriate to have to tip on a $24 1 oz drink when it takes the same amount of time to get it and bring it to the table as your free water. PS. The live music was great! read more

Went to this place around 630p on a Sunday. There was about 10 people at the bar the restaurant had about 4 people sitting and dining. Asked for a table for 2 and was told by the rude hostess it would be 45 minutes to 1 hour. The place was empty. The hostess was so rude we left and will not return. She text us 30 minutes later saying our table was ready. We were so turned off we didn't return. read more

Five stars across every category! We were able to secure a last minute reservation and when we arrived; we got sat immediately. In addition, we had an amazing view right in front of the live band. We decided to go with the Miami Spice Dinner Menu, which was $45 for a choice of cocktail, appetizer, entree, and desert. The old fashion cocktail was perfection! This place is fun! The drinks are definitely the best place to start. The rum drink, Presidente, is excellent. The mojitos ordered by some in my party were also popular. The award winning drink, the gin based (and elderberry flavored) Buena Vista - yum! In the food category, we started with a Cuban sandwich empanada! Delicious. Last night they were out of the short ribs, but there was a great steak entree that was very good. Snapper was well prepared as was the chicken and rice - we were a party of nine and the service was impeccable. Really well done overall. I'm a gringo - I don't speak Spanish and that was not an issue. Staff was all bilingual. read more

Look no further if you are looking for a place to eat. What i know now after going there last night i would have traveled to another planet to experience what i now label call food heaven. The restaurant is politely located in the heart of Little Havana in Miami. The atmosphere is palpable as soon as you walk into the building. You can feel the culture of the place and it feels good. From the amazing menu that has specialty drinks that will certainly complement any dinning occasion to the amazing food, Cafe La Trova is making a statement that food is fun and exciting. The Cuban empanadas will have you singing in no time. The short Rib is a must try even as an appetizer to share with the group. I can see how this place is world recognized. If you are making a trip to Miami or even close to here. Do yourself a favor and stop by Cafe La Trova, it sill certainly not disappoint. read more

They need to do something about the reservation process or eliminate it completely. We made one for 9:30 with a credit card, they tell you they only hold it for 15 minutes, we got there 10 minutes early to be told to have a seat at the bar & they will text us when the table was ready, we left 2 hrs later & they never called us. Thankfully we found available bar seating for the 4 of us & we ended up eating there bc we were starving , but not ideal & what we planned for, mentioned it to the bar service, never an apology or an explanation. Aside from that, the food was delicious, drinks good but overpriced in my opinion & service was good although we got the black beans & rice 1/2 hr before the main dish. The place looks nice but packed , looked like there were more people than max allowed. read more

Very best Cuban good in town. We came in tonight during their soft opening. The steak empanadas were absolutely amazing. The palomilla super soft and juicy. It really felt like abuela made it. The flan was excellent too. I can't wait to go back once they launch their full menu. The hostess, bartenders, and wait staff were top notch. Found this place while walking down 8th street, walked in on what happened to be their first night open. At first look the place is decorated to make it feel like you're on the island of Cuba, it is very nicely done. I sat at the bar just to have some wine and the bartender encouraged us to try their croquetas and empanadas. The steak empanada was delicious slightly sweet and paired with a house chimichurri sauce. We went with the paella croquetas since we have never heard of these before, they came with broth to dip in, they were amazing. Overall, the atmosphere was great, the service was fantastic and the food delicious! read more

Have no idea how this place has so many great reviews & is one of the hottest places in Miami. There are so many better options. Service is rude AF. Came with a group - mostly locals to Miami and native Spanish speakers. Apparently the server was not OK with the fact that a few in our party didn't speak Spanish and proceeded to roll her eyes at the non-Spanish speakers when she was told some of the party needed communications in English, ignored their requests, and was completely disrespectful. Mojito was barely drinkable, it wasn't even mixed. The apps were fine (empanadas) but the main dishes (which came out in 5 minutes?!) were completely tasteless. None of us remotely finished our food and we took it to go so we could donate it. Live band is on point though and cool crowd ... read more

An amazing place! Food, drinks, music and atmosphere all deserve 5 stars. Drinks were strong and well made (we got the La Trova Old Fashion, Mojitos, and El Guayabero drinks). Food was amazing, from the Croquetas, Empanadas, Arroz con Pollo to the Ropa Vieja. Best part was the band that played all night. People were able to get up and dance. Possibly the most picturesque neo-cuban spot in Miami, and that's saying a lot. The drinks are amazing, a truly thoughtful selection. The live music is fun but not so loud that you can't talk. It does get quite crowded on the weekends so arriving early is a must. read more

A welcome addition to the new 8th street vibe. We ate at LaTrova on a Thursday night--everything we chose was excellent! Croquettes of spinach and feta over the top perfect, delicious. Fish on banana leaves (wahoo) was perfectly prepared, good size, perfect rice caper and citrus side. My friend had the equally excellent pork dish. We shared a banana tres leches-super creatively prepared. Wonderful old Havana decor. Live music in keeping with the theme. We were told Wed is jazz. I can imagine the place is too loud on weekends and was pretty loud when we were there, the only negative, other than the smokers right in front of the entrance-/we were told they plan to create an outside back garden for smokers...we will return for sure. read more

Words can't explain how much i loved my visit here,from excellent service to even greater food.The environment was super welcoming and made me feel as if i was in my hometown of Havana,Cuba and was a great place to spend the night with my family alongside great entertainment.My family and I loved it and will be sure to come back for more,definitely recommend.The service was impecable and super fast, as Lupe(the host) was very friendly and sat us all down as soon as possible despise the busy environment.Afterwards our waitress Beatriz took our orders and was very attentive of our every need and food was served in no Time with great quality.If i could give this place more than 5 stars i definitely would!!! read more

The PERFECT place for a birthday dinner. The moment we walked in the hostess was so welcoming. We had to wait a bit for our reservation, which was totally fine cause we got to to go to the bar and get a drink and watch the show. Everyone in the place was smiling dancing and it was just GOOD VIBES. The band was amazing, the bartenders took part in the performance, the drinks at the bar were awesome. Next was dinner - Dinner was fantastic! Best arroz con pollo and tapas I've had in a long while. I honestly was expecting the food to not be as great because I felt like everything was too good and something had to give. As soon as our dinner ended at midnight the 80s club started and it was nothing but jams, fun and dancing all night. Can't wait to go back! read more

How can Michy ignore the feedback regarding the portion sizes and prices at her restaurant? While we went there aware of these reviews and also informed by the same issue at her previous restaurants, it was still a shock to experience first hand!! Why serve 4 tiny little croquettas for $14?! These are inexpensive to make!! Michelle hosts "Check Please" two nights a week - - she asks her guests about portion sizes and cost (value) - - what would she expect to hear about La Trova? The food is tasty - I will grant her that. I recommend the restaurant for folks on a diet! The service is so fast - - we were finished with our apps and main course half an hour after being seated - - including our drinks. The folks on either side of us were served at lightning speed as well! Yes, it felt rushed!! The atmosphere is lively and energetic - - the live music is fun. It would have been nice to have a longer, more leisurely meal - to have eaten more and to have felt that the prices were in line with the portions and ingredients! read more

I was excited to visit this restaurant, in the heart of little Havana,, impressed by the ambiance, the set up really nice the bar super , but when it comes to food , forget it , the fish tasted like corn flakes , I had better cereal as a child , the pork I ordered was nothing special to talk about, bland and cold , conclusion, to go out and have some drinks and enjoy live music perfect, but to eat , you better think about it first , does mrs Michelle Bernstein has anything to do with this ??? I used to go to the club in my college years. After the hotel was sold, the club moved to the Rocky Horror venue in Coconut Grove. In 1999 after that closed too, the club became a roaming pop up at different South Florida venues. Which is how I came to be at Bar Nancy in Little Havana on a Saturday night. They host a monthly Kitchen Club night. Almost everything was closed in Little Havana by the time I arrived so it was surprisingly easy to find metered street parking only two blocks away. Bar Nancy did not have a cover charge which was nice. The bar is decorated like a pirate ship with many nautical touches. It is named for the brigantine Nancy, which transported war supplies during the American Revolution. The room the bar is located in was small, dark, hot, and crowded. Many people enjoyed themselves on the dance floor in front of the DJ. They also have a backyard area that was popular. My favorite room was the one between the two. It was decorated like the Captains quarters with a couch and comfortable chairs. I could still enjoy the music and more importantly, the air conditioning. During the night I had a delicious Amaretto Sour. Despite the dive bar surroundings, it was a hefty $15. While that is expensive for a cocktail, it was a small price to pay to relive my youth for one evening.

We heard so many great things and read about this place that we decided to try it out and see what the fuzz was all about. We were a group of four and didn't have a reservation and it was a weekend day. When we called we were told they were overbooked but they would still welcome walk ins. We decided to show up and try our luck. When we arrived they put our name on the waitlist and we hang out at their Front bar and enjoyed some daiquiris and mojitos criollos while we waited to be sat, I had never had a daiquiri so well made and so perfectly shaken in my life before, and I am very picky about what I eat and drink. Then I wanted to try their mojito, I was told It is the same as having a mojito in Cuba. Well I am a gringo and I am used to lots of syrup, and sprite in mine so I was skeptical at first but when I tasted it for the first time in Cafe La Trova, it made perfect sense!!!!!! I could taste the mint, I could taste the fresh squeezed lime use they use and The sugar that they use mind you they use real sugar, not simple syrup like most places here do and seeing how much respect they pay to the mint when making it by just giving it a gentle whack to awaken its aromas made me fall in love with the MOJITO CRIOLLO at CAFE LA TROVA. we were sat when they had our table but we kind of wanted to stay at the bar because their Cantineros won us over and we didn't mind being in a crowded spot like bees in a beehive but enjoying the cocktails their main performers, THE CANTINEROS make so elegantly. We closed our tabs and went to our table to continue our dinner and our server Erika greeted us immediately and took it from there. Such a nice young lady, very knowledgeable about their food and drinks and answering all questions we had so that we would order what we would enjoy the most. We didn't want to leave we wanted to stay because that is the feeling you get when you are at a place where you are having such a great time. after dinner we relocated to their 80's bar another gem inside this gem!!!! 80's drinks, cool bartender outfits and very friendly staff. then at around midnight a DJ started playing 80's music and that whole area took a life of its own and turned into a dance floor and boy we had such a fantastic night at this place that we will be talking about for a very long time. From the moment we arrived, the energy was infectious--live music filling the air, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and an overall vibrant scene that makes this place so special. One of the highlights of our evening was our amazing server, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Not only was she attentive and personable, but she also showcased her musical talent by playing the flute with the band--a truly unique and awesome touch that added to the magic of the night. The food was solid, delivering the authentic and flavorful Cuban cuisine that Café La Trova is known for. But the real stars of the menu were the cocktails--phenomenal, expertly crafted, and full of character, just as you'd expect from a bar founded by the legendary Julio Cabrera. Unfortunately, our experience at the bar before dinner didn't match the otherwise exceptional service. Arriving early, I attempted to get drinks for our group, but the bartenders were far from welcoming. It was just before 7 PM, and while it seemed they were winding down from happy hour, their attitude felt dismissive. Instead of a friendly greeting, the first thing I was told was, "We're done with happy hour," before I even had a chance to order. When I clarified that I wasn't there for happy hour deals, just looking for pre-dinner cocktails, the lack of enthusiasm persisted. Rather than focusing on guests at the bar, they seemed more interested in playing instruments with the band than actually bartending. That being said, once we were seated, the night turned around, and the rest of the experience was exactly what we hoped for. Café La Trova remains a go-to spot in Miami for its incredible atmosphere, live music, and world-class cocktails. I just wish the bar staff had been as welcoming as the rest of the team. Would I return? Absolutely. But next time, I'll skip the bar and head straight to my table. read more

**La Trova Restaurant Review: A Nightmarish Experience** My recent visit to La Trova was nothing short of a disaster from start to finish. The experience began on a sour note when our waiter practically threw the specials at us without mentioning any prices. This lack of transparency set the tone for the evening. The real shock came with the bill. Not only were we overcharged, but there were also unexpected surcharges and inflated menu prices that led to further overcharges. The final bill was far more than what we had anticipated or what the menu suggested. To make matters worse, the valet service was equally appalling. We handed over $100 for our $15 parking fee, and the valet had the audacity to claim we didn't. This dishonesty is unacceptable and adds to the overall sense of being swindled at this establishment. Hoping to resolve these issues, I sent a feedback email the next day. The manager assured me they would look into it and get back to me. However, I've received no follow-up. When I called two nights ago to inquire again, the woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude and unhelpful, despite knowing I had already been in contact with the operations manager. She refused to give me any names or assistance, further highlighting the terrible customer service at La Trova. To make matters worse, this incident is not isolated. After sharing my experience, I discovered that many of our friends have experienced the same issues. The overcharges, rude service, and dishonesty seem to be a pattern at La Trova. Don't be fooled by their world-recognized status. This place is a colossal letdown, and I would strongly advise avoiding it at all costs. There are so many other fantastic restaurants in the Fort Lauderdale area that offer better service and are much more reasonably priced. Save your money and your sanity--go elsewhere or pay! Not very service orientated. I spend so much money eating and drinking out in my business to entertain clients. I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who likes to spend money on nice good service not just the "in place". I'm local and we have a problem with service in Miami. No wonder the people from NY, LA & Chicago are bringing their own establishments in. Ojo, job today, gone tomorrow. 1. Needed an extra stool as we were 3 at the bar and there was an empty one at the end. First bartender simply said no I couldn't move the stool. No explanation just a very arrogant no. Second guy said no because they have to leave them all in one line wether empty or not, house rules. (At least he explained) He did ask the people next to me if they would move down. Thankfully the patrons were nice. 2. Gave valet my ticket. Gave debit card. Card declined. Guy says "give me another card" I said "sorry but you'll have to run it again I don't have another card on me and it's my debit card. It must be an error" he didn't want to run it, was very rude about it and preferred that I walk 2 blocks to an ATM in heels. Called bank after I got in my car. Sure enough the error was on the valet terminals side not mine. Point is, I'm a woman in heels. You'd think the guy would try to figure out another way to run the card. Input manually or something. Common sense in service industry should be solution and service oriented. Not going back. We thankfully have quite a few new venues that have opened for live music finally. read more

The Cuban sandwich was perfectly pressed with crispy bread, melty Swiss cheese, smoky ham, roasted pork, pickles, and just the right amount of mustard. We also enjoyed classic Cuban favorites like sweet plantains, black beans and rice, and perfectly seasoned grilled meats that were packed with authentic flavor. The cocktails were just as impressive--beautifully presented, refreshing, and expertly crafted. Every bite and every sip made the experience even better. We visited last night as a group and had a mixed experience. The highlight of the evening was definitely the live music -- the singers were excellent and created a great atmosphere. The food was also very good, especially the arroz con pollo, which stood out for its flavor. However, the portion sizes were disappointing, especially given the price -- the arroz con pollo felt more like an appetizer than a main dish. Service was another downside. After a 22% gratuity was automatically added to our bill, our waitress tried to persuade us to leave an additional tip, explaining that the 22% would be split among the whole staff and the sounded that the extra tip would benefit her directly. It felt a bit awkward and pushy. The seating arrangement could also use improvement -- the tables are packed in very tightly, making the space feel overcrowded. The chairs and tables were also quite uncomfortable, especially for a longer dinner. Overall, we enjoyed the music and the food quality, but the pricing, service pressure, and uncomfortable setup made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been. read more

We had such a great time at this restaurant last night. It was a busy Friday night but we had a reservation and got sat quickly. Our server greeted us immediately and suggested the Buenavista cocktail and some tapas to share, she also told us the history behind La Trova which we loved very much. We got the octopus, The Prawns and The Paella Croquetes, WOW,WOW,WOW. We literally devoured everything in our plates. Then we had both of their fish in the menu, The Beef Ribs and The Arroz Con Pollo. Everything super delicious and perfectly seasoned. we had a great meal and the music made it more memorable, there was a staff member playing the trumpet behind the bar plus the CANTINEROS did some performance behind the bar that made us stand from our seats and gather around them to clap them, record them and admire them. The staff is supper friendly and very accommodating. What a breath of fresh air to find a place like this in Miami. Our new Favorite place!!!! read more

I recently visited Cafe La Trova and had a bad experience. Despite making a reservation several weeks in advance, we were constantly reminded by the waiter that we could not stay at our table for more than 2 hours. We were told that if other guests arrived after the 2-hour mark, we would have to move to the bar, even though we had ordered several drinks, appetizers, and main courses and wanted to stay longer to enjoy the live band. This rule of having to leave the table after 2 hours seems to be unique to this restaurant, as other bars and restaurants on Calle 8 allow guests to stay as long as they like without the pressure of watching the clock. Aside from this issue, the place itself was nice, the food was good, and the live band was enjoyable. However, the strict time limit on our table significantly impacted our overall experience. read more

I was intrigued to visit because my partner and I like to visit the worlds top bars. After finding out that a Miami bar made the list, we had to try it. We invited some friends to join us , had a reservation for 11 but showed up early because we were in the area and they were nice enough to accommodate which was great. Service was solid, food was great and drinks were good and good is the word because we've been places where the experience was out of this world. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere here more than I did the cocktails, but with that said they were pretty solid. Overall, I'd say this is a great spot to go with friends, just be aware music is really loud so you may need to shout to have a conversation-that's one of the main reason it's a 4/5 for me read more

The ambiance is nice and the food and drinks come out super quick! Something I didn't like was how the host seemed to be rushing us. He didn't have a very welcoming attitude, he told us we had a limit of an hour and a half and it rubbed me the wrong way when I was eating some appetizers with my friends waiting for two other friends to join us, he asked in how long they were getting here, mind you the restaurant was almost empty at that point. the food was extremely tasty and the portions were large, the restaurant is in little Havana and had a band that was playing in the background! the menu has a wide range of Cuban options to pick from, our server was very efficient and knowledgeable! my wife and I split the Cuban sandwich empanadas which were awesome. I went here today and was SHOCKED by how rude the bartender was. He was insulting the woman sitting next to me at the bar for ordering a water with her drink. Worse yet, the bartender told my cousin I hadn't paid for my drink and tried to charge my cousin for it. I had paid for the drink and had left a handsome tip. The staff at Cafe la Triva are sociopaths looking to exploit anyone who walks through their doors. Avoid this shithole. read more
