Overall, we had a good experience at Sala'o. The ambience is nice and the service was Great, honestly the service alone would make me come back. We went for lunch so it was pretty quiet and there wasn't any live music yet, but we had a really nice table toward the back and enjoyed the atmosphere. The prices weren't too bad and the food was good, although I did feel like some of the portions were a little on the smaller side. The chicken was a little dry, but when I asked for extra sauce they were so sweet and brought us everything we needed. I probably wouldn't order the Vaca Frita again because that was a little dry for me too, but I'd definitely come back and try other things on the menu. I also LOVE that on your birthday they give you a percentage off based on your age, such a cute touch! Next time I'd definitely come at night when it's packed, the music is going and you can really experience the full Sala'o vibe. Overall, good experience and yes, I'd absolutely go back!
We happened to be walking down Calle Ocho and were brought in by the live music and free salsa classes. It was happy hour bogo $13.99 drinks. We sat and were greeted we ordered 1st round cosmo and a Moscow mule. For the kids lemonades and a piña colada. When the drinks came they were amazing! The lemonades had fresh strawberry and Mangos in them. We ordered croquettas for appetizers and arroz morro, maduros and arroz blanco con frijoles negros for the kids. The food was great! The 2nd round of our bogo drinks were old fashioneds. Prob one of the best I've had. They had live salsa band playing in the background and a man live salsa dancing. 10/10
Great dinner find while in Miami for a baseball game. Loved the lively atmosphere. Live music and lots of people dancing. Food and cocktails were all excellent. Churasco and ropa Vieja were the personal favorites. Service felt a little rushed but overall very pleasant. Would definitely come back.

This was our second time to visit and it did not disappoint! The staff was very attentive as they were the last time. The atmosphere was lively and fun and remains so throughout the evening. We enjoyed multiple appetizers and an incredible hole red snapper that was prepared perfectly. The surprise of the evening was the shrimp. Had not had it this way before an absolutely loved it! And of course you can't beat the vibe with the Cuban music as the backdrop. Will definitely be going back the next time we're in Little Havana.

We started with empanadas and wow... easily some of the best I've had. Crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. You can tell everything is made with care. And the drinks? Just as good as the food. Well-balanced, refreshing, and the perfect complement to a fun Friday night atmosphere. We also ordered the bacalao croquetes as a matter of fact we ordered another one it was so bad we needed more (hahaha being sarcastic) they were delicious. We also ordered the avocado salad I was impressed super good. Also at that time they had live music. For sure we are coming back. PS there is s parking lot across the street.

We were not disappointed on how flavorful the Cuban food was. They also make the best mojitos! Service is often slow since it took forever to get menus and to place our orders.
It was mine and my partner's last evening in the Little Havana neighborhood, so we wanted to experience authentic Cuban food. I research, read reviews, and called for a reservation. You'll need to make a reservation, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening because this establishment can get packed. The service and entertainment was exceptional but the food made the experience even more enjoyable. I loved every single dish we tried! The establishment is very pretty and our server was amazing and super nice! Appetizer: Calamares Fritos - this dish is fried but not overally battered. On the side, they'll provide you with a lemon and a citrus dark sauce, which pairs well with the Calamares. Entrees: I will rate both mine and my partner's dish since I was able to taste both. - Ropa Vieja: braised shredded beef soaked in flavorful spices, which pairs well with Arroz Moro (rice and black beans). I loved how this dish provided a lot of spiced flavors but it was not overpowering. The only thing I could provide feedback on is to reduce the amount of salt (just a bit). -Filete de Corvina: a fish filet with amazing well balanced flavors of spiced and citrus with a side of vegetables and potatoes. I loved how meaty the fish was and how flavorful it was. Overall, we enjoyed this restaurant and Cuban experience. Most definitely, I would recommend this place to family, friends, people on the street, and those visiting the area. It's beyond worth it and the price range will not hurt your pockets.

The bigger restaurant must have been full. The put us on the bar next door and the lights were low. It smelled kind of funny. I heard the music next door and it sounded incredible. I tried to eat healthier but my fish was not it but the yucca fries 10/10 I should have stopped there and just had drinks. If I try it again drinks only in the main bar with yucca fries!

Fantastic option for Cuban food in Little Havana! My husband and I shared the steak and shrimp. Steak was very tender. Also ordered a side of sweet plantains, avocado salad, and yuca fries. All were delicious! Loved the Cuban vibe. Live music was great and there was a guy who was dancing on stage. A lady having dinner joined him and it was really cute, very fun. Lots of drink options and a full food menu. Only drawback would be the noise level. It is fairly loud. Overall, highly recommend! read more
We loved our experience at Sala'o. We came on a Wednesday so they weren't too busy, we had just missed the Cuban dance lessons! This restaurant had a very laid back, but upscale feel to it. We were greeted and sat immediately. The mojitos were really good, and paired well with the empanadas. The empanadas had a little more dough than were used to but they packed great flavor. We split the Vaca Frita and Oxtails. What a surprise they both were! The Vaca Frita had hints of cities citrus throughout and the oxtails were incredibly tender with loads of flavor. Everything was amazing! We're looking forward to coming back to Miami to visit again soon. read more

An absolute must when you're in Miami. Live music on a Friday night and the waiters even salsa a little in between serving. The food was authentic and delicious. We tried the ropa vieja, the lechón, and the chuleta and they were all delicious. After dinner be sure to checkout the bars and clubs around there. It's great walking distance to so much! read more

We were staying in Jupiter for a work trip and decided to drive to Miami on our last night to check out Little Havana. I'd looked at a few restaurants on Calle Ocho and Sala'o stood out with its live music and entertainment. We made reservations while driving down (leave early on a Friday to avoid some of the I95 traffic) and were placed on the side without live music. It was very quiet and we were the only people on that side. We asked to be moved to the other side and were quickly accommodated. The atmosphere on the main side was lively and the entire reason we chose to eat here. Roxana was our server. She was great. I ordered the Churrasco with tostones. Phenomenal! The steak was perfectly marinated and cooked. The tostones were delicious as well. I tried my boyfriend's maduros which were also delicious. The band was great and the decor enhanced the ambiance. I'd definitely recommend anyone have a meal or drinks here. read more

OMG I had the best time at Sala'o!! Really nice Cuban spot in the heart of little Havana. So many nearby spots to grab a drink or go dancing or even smoke a cigar. Went to celebrate my friends birthday and took advantage of their Spice menu. It was an amazing deal: choose one appetizer, one entree with one side, one dessert and one cocktail per person for $45 during the week. I added a chicken soup and it was the best one I've ever had. So delicious. I tried their calamari, I believe the menu said rings but I also got tentacles in mine, entree was the swordfish with maduros..it was delicious, dessert was caramel mousse and it was perfection !! Wilma our server was on top of everything! All of the staff were friendly and attentive. Drinks were really good but the mojito and la guara tastes a bit watered down. Highly recommend their espresso martini and old fashioned!!!! Must try!! My friend wasn't fond of the churassco. It was but too fatty but everyone else loved it and said melted in their mouths. The best apps were the shrimp coctel and the to stone relleno. There is entertainment every night. They had live music when I went and even sang happy birthday to our birthday girl. Such a great time ! Can't wait to visit again! read more

The live salsa music and dancers and the interaction with the guests made it for a great experience. It is priced right as well. A terrible and completely abusive experience. This restaurant charged me unfairly, and when I complained about it, they acted arrogantly and showed zero intention of fixing the issue. It honestly feels like they expect customers not to review the bill so they can charge whatever they want. I went to the restaurant in person to file a complaint, and absolutely nothing was resolved. The next day, I called again trying to solve the situation, and the manager wouldn't even take my call. As of now, I still have no solution, no explanation, and no real concern shown by the restaurant. The service was terrible, and the customer service was even worse. Extremely unprofessional, and honestly it makes the place feel untrustworthy when they handle payments this way. Make sure to carefully review your bill before paying because you could easily end up being overcharged without any clear explanation. I definitely will not be coming back, and I do not recommend this place at all. read more
In the heart of Little Havana, this popular restaurant is usually always busy. Popping in on a Saturday evening around 6pm, we got one of the last tables left. To eat, we loved the Cubano sandwiches and our daughter loved their black beans with a side of rice. The frozen drinks were not great. The passion fruit frozen daiquiri was not well made and lacked flavor. Overall, it was a good dinner and we enjoyed the music and atmosphere. read more

Wow. Wow. WOW. That's all I can say about Sala'o. From the second we sat down to the moment we left we had an absolutely PHENOMENAL time. The service, the drinks, the food, the live music, the atmosphere, every single aspect of this meal and service was ON. POINT. I would HIGHLY recommend this space to anyone and everyone looking for amazing Cuban food on Calle Ocho. We came on a Sunday without a reservation and we were seated right away. If you come on a Friday or Saturday make sure to make a reservation as this restaurant is quite small. The vibes were good with the music. They had a live performance and it seems like they have performers there on certain days. Service was great and they were quick to get our food! We got the Cuban crackers with the dip and it was absolutely delicious. We also got the calamari and it was amazing! I didn't get pictures of our main entrees since it smelled amazing and we were very hungry. We got the Pollo Guajiro and Lonjas Lechon de Asado and omg it was amazing! The chicken was quite delicious and big portion. My meal cut easily and the sauce was so good! We got the fried plantains and it was good as well! We visited Sala'o for the birthday discount, and it did not disappoint! The place is super lively, with loud Jazz periodically throughout the night. Too loud to have a conversation during the music, but that's kinda the vibe. However, the space is very cramped, and our reservation for 4 was really a table for 2. I got elbowed in the head :/ BUT aside from that, the Empanadas (so pricey 2 for $12) were the best I ever had. The dough was crispy, doughey, and the filling was well-seasoned. The Chuleta de Cerdo (pork chop) was oh so juicey and paired well with the Arroz Moro (rice with black beans). Seriously, I'm not one to typically order a meat dish like this, but that was one good pork chop. read more

It did not live to expectations as it was hoped up during tour.the mojito was very well decorated but there was no substance(liquid) the daiquiri tasted like it had no rum. Ambiance was ok, the service was great, fast and accurate.the empanadas were not to expectations. I am a Boricua so I know what good empanadas taste like. read more
