This was an amazing experience! We are thinking of making this an annual event. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. The ambiance of the train was just like out of history. Spacious seating and the tables were set beautifully... there was even a pretty fan laid out on the table. We were seated in the Indian Waters car. The drink menu had a wide variety of cocktails and wine to choose from but I went for my usual cab sav. It was so fun to be served on a train while seeing some of the early fall foliage as we traveled. After ordering our appetizer and main courses, we were served the most delicious, warm homemade bread! After that our appetizers came. I had the Maple Pumpkin Bisque and my husband went for the Pork Potstickers. Both great choices. Next was the salad which had a fantastic homemade maple vinaigrette. After the salad course, we were served a homemade mango strawberry sorbet as a palette cleanser. So delicious and refreshing! For dinner I went with the Port Wine Pork Tenderloin and my husband had the Chicken Saltimbocca. We both really enjoyed our entree's which were served with roasted butternut squash and mashed potato. Finally, for dessert we had a lovely chocolate mousse. Just as we finished we pulled back into the train station. Highly recommend this experience - The food was so good and you could tell the effort that went into the dishes and the service. We will definitely be back!

Lovely views. This relaxing train ride felt like stepping into a different dimension. Heavily stylized interior of the train, with great food and drink. Great for a special occasion.

We really enjoyed the evening. The train was beautifully restored the staff very friendly & attentive. While waiting to board we were able to enjoy a glass of wine. Once boarded, we enjoyed a drink from the full service bar & a delicious 5 course meal. Ride was smooth with nice views. Definitely recommend!

I will preface this by saying we went as part of a bus group. The train was wet pretty and the table settings beautiful (two stars). We boarded an hour before it actually departed- which was a bit much. Cocktail service was first- expensive. $24 for a drink. I got their cherry infused bourbon- it was ok.. mom had a lemon martini that again was ok. I expected more form a house infused bourbon - it tasted like fake cherry. Anyhow getting past that- there are 0 options for allergies or food preferences when you are part of a group. They claimed our tour guide was notified- she was not and in fact was reading us the menu from online before we got off the bus, then someone from the dinner train came on and changed what the offerings would be. No appetizer selection, only dinner. Fine. I could t eat the soup as it co rained cheese- the bread was actually the highlight of the meal (first course). Followed by the soup I couldn't have (they had no alternatives to offer) Follow by salad (greens only, they said there was cranberries but I didn't find one on my plate.. then dinner. I had the chicken. There was no way that was a freshly cooked chicken breast- it has the same texture and taste as one you get at Wendy's. Fake grill marks- certainly came out of a frozen bag. And it wasn't even lukewarm. Served with potatoes (those we good) and asparagus (uncooked in my opinion). Coffee service followed and desert (chocolate moose- 3 bites and it's done!!) Totally underwhelmed. And.. the waitstaff was irritable to say the least. I nicely asked when we were seated if there was a better side to sit on (no we just go through the woods was the answer) - people at my table had an issue with their drink (response- that's Interesting) - overall just felt like we weren't welcome. I know places are short staffed and we understand that- however if you are pleasant to us we are very understanding and tip well. Oh for tips- they rack on the 20 percent to your bar tab.

Food was great. Service ok. It would be great to have wet napkins/hand towels before dinner and reflectors on the carpet. Also, last call for drinks or another cup of coffee before you pay the bill at 5.30 pm. Water should be served after 5.30 as well. Overall great experience.

Chicken Florentine with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Bland at best. Need to spruce it up with butter and salt.

Looking for a dinner evening for a group of about 150 next September ? Is this dinner train large enough to accommodate that number?

    No. Mostly for small groups

I'm going with my husband in October for our anniversary. I wasn't sure if we should buy tickets for the main level or dome? Also, do you have to sit with other people. I would love to have our own table. Thanks...

Main level. Dome is overrated. Book in advance I loved it.

Rating: 4.7 Tried…read moretheir zip line course during the off season since there were limited things open around the area. We booked online a head of time and made a reservation for a time. We got there 10minutes early and were informed some guidelines to follow. Got myself a hat since I forgot to bring one was pretty cold. Since it was during offseason we were only ones there. We were escorted to the gear house and equipped with helmet, safety harness and a latch. The staff gave us a ride to the zip line course and took a truck up the hill. They did tell us to make sure to keep helmet on and seatbelt because it was going to be rough ride up due to it being mud season. It sure was a rough ride up and probably was in the air quite a few times during the ride. I looked at one of the staff and used my foot to secure myself like he was doing to keep myself stable which helped. It was definitely the toughest part of the experience. Once we got to the zip line area we were given a brief instructions for safety and we buckled up and started our zip line session. In the beginning it was a bit intimidating but the staffs were all very nice and made us feel safe during the experience. Once we got going it was very enjoyable and thrilling. It was cold but we were mostly prepared and dressed warm and the hat I purchased helped. The views were also beautiful. At the end we got to go in a treehouse and take some picture at the end. After we finished we were escorted back to the truck and took the van to the main facility which was a mild ride compared to on the way. We dropped off our equipments and left the facility. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and had a great time. Everyone was nice and accommodating made us feel safe. It was also nice that we were only ones there because we got a private session and full attention during the experience. Definitely would recommend for those that enjoy or beginner who would like to try zip lining. My partner who can be la little anxious about these experience enjoyed it and was perfectly fine throughout the experience. The experience was a bit on pricier side but I think it was worth it.

The car ride is very bumpy, and it for the faint of heart. If you have back problems, this is not the car ride for you~ apparently during the summer, guests have to hike up rather than use the trucks which seems like a moderate level walk in my opinion. We were the only guest since it was spring off season~ plenty of mud but it was great! We prepped with our hiking boots, layers, and hats are a must. Gloves helped our hands stay warm. The staff seem close and look like they enjoy what they do~ really great experience filled with views and good happy adrenaline screams!

We are a middle aged couple, and sometimes when we have the kids with us we review from that perspective as well. Ok where do I start? Everything was good!! The place inside is a little run down but it's a snow / ski town so I am sure they deal with a lot of melting snow on shoes when people come in. There were great meal options. We got pot stickers appetizer, pad zee ew, and the pineapple fried rice with chicken. It came out quickly. It was hot and delicious the only thing I would comment is that there was a significant amount of egg in pad zee ew. As far as the restaurant itself it was quaint but uncomfortably cold. The thermostat showed 61 degrees. You could feel it. Also, some attention could be used in the women's restroom where when I turned the faucet to turn on the water the entire structure came up off the floor.

The final dinner of our vacation. Was hoping it was going to be the best meal of the trip, but…read moresadly it wasn't. It started out on a high note - the beet salad was excellent. Roasted beets, feta and walnuts over mesculin greens. It was dressed with a flavorful maple balsamic vinaigrette. My husband and I both ordered the Karen cuts of prime rib done medium. The entrees arrived well past medium, which there should be no excuse for at 5 pm. The vegetable of the day was corn on the cob, which was as you would expect, overcooked and mushy. We splurged on dessert of chocolate mousse, which was unremarkable. It wasn't our worst meal of the trip, but definitely wasn't the best either. Final note, some of the tables have these giant chairs, shown in my pictures, that are too low (I told the waitress I might need a booster seat) and too heavy to even move yourself. My husband had to get up and push my chair closer to the table. I'd rate it no higher than 3.5 and since I can't give half stars, I will give a 4 because the salad was so good. Do better with your prime rib, since it seems to be what customers brag about, though I'm not sure why.
