Was waiting for Mom at an appointment and needed something close. This pequeno restaurante is located on Jones, between 1960 west and Fallbrook. The inside was clean, with brightly colored interior and traditional music playing. I was seated and taken well care of by Mary. Started with an Horchata, my childhood favorite and it was delish! Asked Mary what she liked as it all looked good on the menu. When she suggested the pupusa I was thrilled. She brought the crispy bread sticks with butter and a side of pickled slaw while I waited. When the fajita pupusa came out I could see it was going to be amazing, thin Maiz full of queso and fajita meat. Grilled perfectly so the cheese that melted out was seared just right. I added a side of refried black beans and rice. Layering everything with the pickled slaw was heaven in every bite. Truly a Salvadoran treat! Speaking of treats, there was a case all along the right wall full of fresh pastries. Had to get the Boy a sprinkled short bread cookie while I was there. My meal was simple but have no fear.... I'll be back to try their other dishes!

I'm not Latin you go without reading my review of Cafe Latino. There's a lot of great places for Pupusas and Salvadoran food around Houston, but these are some of the absolute best pupusas that we've had. We've become somewhat regulars here because we do love pupusas. Amazing taste, greasy, perfect. Will be back here again on a regular basis because of how good and cheap these delicious fried Salvadorian Delights are. Make sure you slather them in sauce because they're even better that way, and most of all make sure you eat them fresh and hot because that's how it's supposed to be.

From right to left Eulogio"Fito", Edwin and myself. Having fun and making memories.

Café Latino Panadería y Pupuseria. is a must visit place when looking for great tasting Salvadorian dishes. This is a family owned and operated. The owner is usually there and always greeting his guest with a welcoming smile.why's this place?Great food, clean facility and friendly staff. I live in the Spring,Tx area and I make the 30 min. drive just because of their food and great service. El Salvador is a country with so many food options. My recommendations is that if it's your first time visiting let them know so they can explain the menu and tell you what the house specials are. My favorites are the Pupusas and plátano and the must have coffee with sweet bread. Stop by and enjoy! Happy customer Rene G.

The food here was really satisfying! My friend and I both chose the mixed plate that came with a corn tamal, pupusa (asked to swap the cheese pupusas for a revuelta), platano, and frijoles con crema. All of that was really good, except the tamal tasted like it had sugar added to it. That bothered me just a little, but it still tasted good. We also had an order of the yuca with chicharrones and that was soooo good! To drink, I had fresco de marañon, which is not served in a lot of places, so I was pleasantly surprised! It did not disappoint my expectations :) For dessert, we had the nuegados, which were fried in a flat shape like a pancake. That was new to me as I've always had them in little ball shapes. The texture was flaky and tasted good but I didn't care for the flakiness. Overall A- experience. I will definitely be coming back!

Our server was super attentive and he made sure that everyone's food and drinks came out at the same time even if someone came in later. I had the nachos with beef fajita and chicken, and I thought it was pretty good, it has the same set up as nachos from Pappasito's and my only complaint was that I asked for a side of sour cream to go and was charged a dollar for it. So if anything keep in mind that if you request an extra or even a condiment on the side, you might get charged a small fee.

The food was under average. 2 of us had the Tilipia dish and the flavor was good but it was super salty. If the chef cut down on the salt it would be excellent. The vegetables on the dish were nice. We couldn't eat the fish even though we asked for extra lime so we can squeeze on it. The shrimps dish was over cooked so the shrimps were too dry. The steaks were barely OK But the appertizers were good. We had pupusas and the plaintain Service was nice but we had to flag down the manager since our server was no where to be seen.

I went there due to seeing their instagram story about a $10 meal deal (2 pupusas, a pastelito, and a soda) but they had run out of pastelitos so I had to quickly choose something so I'm thankful that they were happy to help answer any questions. It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

New favorite coffee/study spot in Houston! This place is (I…read morethink?) in Montrose area, and a gem with parking both in front (with spaces) and street parking available. The baristas/servers are so friendly, and the shop truly feels homey. Perfection for studying, with inside ample tables/chairs with nearby outlets as well as some comfy chairs and a couch. There's also a cute covered outside area which I'm sure I'll experience post summer time. They have a few yummy looking food options at a great price point - including tamales and baked pastries. I picked the chicken tamale as a light lunch - I got the most delicious chicken tamale I've had thus far, served with kettle crinkle chips and a tamale sauce to dip. There are many coffee/non coffee options. I opted for the iced horchata latte - agree with prior reviewers that this is delish. It is not too sweet and a great blend of vanilla and cinnamon that masks the espresso. The atmosphere here is cozy but focused, with a mixture of people working/studying and hanging out. 10/10 will be back.
