Def. my favorite lunch and dinner place around Wellesley and beyond. Lunch: Hands down the best gourmet salads and sandwiches around all of Boston. My favorite is the Avocado tuna salad and the roast beef sandwich for lunch. The executive chef surely brought the salad's mojo back. These are amazing salads, not your average bland and boring salads you get anywhere else. Oh by the way, these guys brew some amazing coffee as well. Dinner: The "cafe" magically turns into a fine dining restaurant at night while retaining the homely feel. I sampled the entire menu and have a hard time deciding what to eat each time as they all are great. I suppose my favorite is the grilled sea bass that comes whole but deboned in a very authentic Mediterranean style serving. Make sure to check out their mezes which pair superbly with your choice of drink. The restaurant is BYOD which I love because I can bring any wine I want rather than being restricted to a small selection. The executive chef prepares and checks every plate to ensure perfection and he personally visits each table at the end of the night. Nice touch... Atmosphere: Cafe Mangal's inviting and homely atmosphere makes you feel welcome and comfortable paired with amazing food and super friendly staff. This place is run by the owners with individual attention their guests. I went to this place for dinner for the first time this past weekend, and the food was absolutely amazing! I had been there for lunch before, but not for dinner, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it could not have been any better. The food was great; great mix of Turkish and American cuisine, with all the right touches of spices and authenticity. They are not the cheapest restaurant in town, but the portions are generous and its top quality. Well worth the price! I had the NY sirloin, and as someone who enjoys steak, its on par, if not better than the best steak restaurants in Boston. The friendly and personal service made our dinning experience even better. Towards the end of our dinner the Chef made sure to stop by our table, which was another touch of personal service and is unfortunately rare these days at most fine dining restaurants. I live in Georgia and have dined at this very fine restaurant before. I visited my parents in Massachusetts last week and again dined there with my friends & family. Cafe Mangal absolutely is one of the best Mediterranean and fine dining restaurants I have dined in. Its very clean, nice atmosphere and service is superb. My favorite there is New York Strip Steak, very good and always cooked at the right temperature I want. My friends had "Aegean Sea Bass", "Beef Shish Kebab" and "Chicken Dardanelle" which they enjoyed very much. Home Made Baklava was delicious as always. To top it of, I always want to have a nice cappuccino when I dine at a fine dining restaurant but sometimes it is good sometimes it is not. But, Cafe Mangal's cappuccino is always, consistently very good. It is a nice finishing touch after a very nice meal I recommend to this high quality fine dining restaurant to everyone. read more

We have recently dined at Cafe Mangal again. It was a great time and pleasure. We have shared a salad with my friend. That was "Mediterranean Salad". It was delicious and sizewise enough for two! French feta cheese they use for the salad was very very good. Then I had Agean Sea Bass and my friend had Turkish Borek. Both were delicious and presentations were excellent. Our average bill per person was $27.00. Very reasonable for such a high quality fine dining restaurant. We took a bottle of white wine and they served it to us with high quality white wine glasses. Our server was a student at Wellesley College and she was was very good and it was nice talking to her during the service. Owner came to our table also to talk to us. We have appreciated that very much. On the other hand their menu is very rich and you have many choices. They deserve 5 stars. Highly recommend it! read more

We have dined at Café Mangal on Thursday May 22nd with our friends. I travel to USA couple of times in a year due to my business. Some of our friends who live in Cambridge, Boston highly recommended Café Mangal to us as a Mediterranean restaurant. It was a real pleasure for us dining there. It was not only the food was so good. It was an overall high quality service and warm, friendly welcome. Chef has visited our table and we had a nice chat with him. I have tried their special "Muna" which is a ground lamb & beef meat dish rolled in roasted eggplant, it was so unique and delicious. I have quite an experience with Mediterranean & Turkish food all around the world. I must admit Café Mangal is one of the best on my list. I'll definitely stop by there during my future visits. I have been a regular to Cafe Mangal both for lunch and dinner for several years. This is probably one of the best restaurants in Boston and its suburbs. Their overall quality and consistency is the reason for that. As a Turkish influenced Mediterranean restaurant they are definitely the best in the area. Price-value relationship is excellent. Frankly it is not easy to find another restaurant in their category and at their level to compare with them. BYOB and their perfect service is a big plus. It is family run and family is always there to take care of everything. You feel like at home. I recommend everything on their menu. As a Turkish-American, I love to eat at Mangal.... but I cannot take all my guests there. This time I decided to order most of the food from Mangal while cooking the main dish myself. Mangal did a superb job preparing wonderful mezes, salad, borek and baklava for eight... They were so delicious that my husband and I also loved having the leftovers the next day. By the way, Mangal does not only cook fine Turkish good but also packs everything very well with precise instructions.... I should also add that Mangal is not only run with a great chef but is surrounded with great professionals and people. They all understand Turkish food and beyond. This is one of my favorite restaurants in greater Boston. It's owned by a super friendly family. They have a great espresso machine to cover your caffeine fix, and the roast beef sandwich for lunch is to die for! The restaurant transforms into a fine dining restaurant at night while keeping its charm. The Turkish kebap, the lamb shish, and the pastirma with halloumi cheese for appetizer are my dinner favorites. Cafe Mangal is a great getaway from restaurants in Boston because of the homey atmosphere and the excellent food. The decorations pull you into a cozy and welcoming Turkish home. The food is presented with exquisite taste (no pun intended) and delicacy. I have now used Cafe Mangal as a casual lunch with friends, a business lunch and delivery for a department meeting. I have been very impressed with the service and selection during all three experiences. For the business lunch, my clients were very impressed and they are still talking about it. I had dinner there for the first time last night and I can't wait to go back!!!! The food was amazing as was the service. Started with the most delicious appetizers...the combination platter made of incredible hummus and other homemade dips to go with our warm pita bread. We went there for lunch as we had heard they made great sandwiches, we were not disappointed, i had the roast beef sandwich which was excellent and my wife was equally pleased with her grilled vegetables sandwich. I am new in the area. I went to this place for lunch with co-worker. I ordered a salmon sandwich. It is really tasty and fresh. My co-worker ordered a vegetarian sandwich. It looks really yummy.
