TFW you order from the local place, and then realize you actually ordered from the place that's 20 minutes away... We *meant* to order from the Norwood location, but dialed the Needham location instead- oops! At any rate, they were fast, and provided a HUGE amount of food. The chicken and Doner kebabs were tasty, the grain (bulger?) a very good surprise carb, a generous helping of veg including some mystery red cabbage that was awesome, and both white and red (hot) sauces. An insanely good value that fed us multiple meals, from friendly folks in a welcoming shop in pretty Needham. read more

Had their Falafel Appetizer Plate to go last week. It comes with a dip, salad and 6 pieces of falafel. It is not on their menu but you can order it for $14. The salad was meh but the pickled cabbage was delicious. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft from the inside. It can be a little dry to eat on its own, but we had it with the babaganush and it tasted great together. The star was the Babaganush - smoked eggplant with tahini, yogurt and garlic. The flavor, texture and smoky taste was perfect. Also tried Pistachio Baklava. It was way too sweet with for us with too much syrup, but the flavor was fantastic. It is pricey at $2.20 for 1 piece of baklava. I love their eggplant in tomato sauce and pair it with their freshly baked, you will be in heaven!! Now this one is more of a quick take out location, if you want to dine in, you can visit their Norwood location. read more

All in all, this is a decent staple of Needham. I ordered a chicken gyro for takeout with a side of fries as well as an additional pita. It came with 3 sauces (two white and one red). A pro was that the portion was generous and filling, and the ratio of meat to veggies was great. However, the ingredients are just fresh-ish. Nothing particularly outstanding about the flavors in the gyro. In addition, there was no sign of feta! How could you have a gyro without feta?It's like peanut butter without jelly! As for the side dish, the flavor of the fries was pretty good but the consistency was soggy. This in combination with the sauces wasn't that great, as the sauces were extremely watery. Pita on the side, however, was delightful. This place gains stars for efficiency (food came out very fast), service, and generous portions. However, if you're looking for Greek food or gyros that are booming with flavor, check out another spot. read more

I have been to the Norwood location many times but this time i was just getting a take out from Needham location since was in the area. The food was good but the menu was bit a different and they did not do the turkish bread that Norwood location does which was a bummer and had i knew it i would have skipped the take out. But i guess i should have asked. Over all good food . I would suggest heading to Norwood location since you can seat and eat . read more

Very average food, slightly overpriced. The guts working behind the counter seemed pretty nice. One said he was from Istanbul turkey and another was from Azerbaijan. I ordered the lamb and it was pretty good. The tzatziki sauce was fresh and tasty. Not the best but not the worst. read more

I was hoping this would be awesome, but the meat (meat gyro platter) was crumbly and dry, not that flavorful. Luckily I got a whole thing of tzatziki, but that was only okay too. It was the consistency of the commercial Kronos brand and really only had a sour yogurt flavor rather than garlic or any herbs. The best thing was the acidic purple cabbage slaw. read more

We had the most disappointing experience with Gyro and Kebab House today. We called around 1pm to say we wanted to place an order for 7 people for dinner. We asked if they would take the order now or should we called back later in the day. They said calling later would be fine. When we called at 4:05pm they told us they were closing early and we couldn't order from them. No explanation, no apologies. "No, we're closing early" was it. We reminded them they had earlier instructed to call later. They said they were closing early and wouldn't fill our order. Found this hidden gem from Yelp. Very small corner shop with limited seating. 3 table for two . Went and ordered lamp kabob. Served with double salad. Big portion. Very tender and moist. Loved the pickled red cabbage. The falafel plate had 6 big falafel and salad a hummus. Very good. Very moist and fresh. We ordered the Baba ghanoush. Loved it !!! Stuffed grape leaves were really good. Wished this place had a dinning room. Couldn't sit with my daughter's but the food was good. They were very busy with take out. Save room for the baklava. This review is based on one visit and on the falafel pita. Stopped in for lunch as I was craving falafel. Very disappointing. Although the pita was fresh, they used it as a roll-up, rather that opening the pita and placing fillings inside. I found the falafel leaden and "doughy" (that's as close as I can get to the description.) I had confirmed that it came with hummus and I also asked for tahini; neither of which were evident to me. The cucumber/tomato/green pepper mixture was fresh. It also came with a strange red "sauce" which I assume was the hot sauce that I also confirmed I wanted when I ordered (BTW, this was NOT hot.) One positive: the fries that came with it were shoestring, were very crispy, and were quite good. Overall, it was a disappointment. Side note: the chicken shwarma that a fellow customer had, appeared excellent. I might give that a try in the future...but I might not. read more

I remember writing a review of this place, but can't find it. Very odd. So of course, now I can't even remember exactly what we got!! I'm fairly certain I got the Chicken Gyro (Doner) Kebab, which came with bulgar wheat, bread (but NOT the bread that looks amazing in the pics), salad and sauce. It was DELISH. I devoured the entire thing and was pleasantly full. My friend got a salad with lamb. She really liked it, but said my chicken was better. It's a tough one, because everything on the menu looks great (buffalo gyro!? Yes, please. Falafel? Yum.), but what I got was SO good, that I want it again. This was a great place to get cheap gyros. They give you a lot so I'd get 1 order for 2 people. It's not the best quality but also it's super cheap so you get what you pay for. Also I think you have to specify you want a gyro because they might give you a wrap. I don't think they automatically assume you want a gyro but I'd for sure order from here again read more

The food was incredibly tasty! The fries were the best I've had in years. The meat was exceptionally good. The salad and rice was sumptuous. If you are foody you will love the food! It's a take out place with minimal space for sitting down although there are a few tables with chairs. They said they plan on starting delivery in a few weeks. It's not cheap either. After reading some of the dreadful reviews, I am wondering if we all went to the same place. There was a slight waiting time after our order, about 5 min, but once you take your first bite, you realize that it was made "fresh to order" We ordered a meat gyro and a lamb Aldana kebab and it was absolutely delicious and as real as it gets. The portions were good, the taste and flavors of both dishes were well balanced absolutely spot on.
