May 21st. 2016 @7pm. The café had been slightly empty. There were about two couples sitting inside and the waitress was gracious enough to let us choose where we wanted to sit. I find that kind of service great cause it let's you get more comfortable, an at home feel!
Remember the film called "Like Water for Chocolate" and the love between Pedro and Tita was personified from the food and felt from the shared passion after consumption!! The food I ate here left me with passion and goodness!
My friend And I ordered pasta dishes. A Penne Carbonara and a Gorgonzola Gnocchi. The bacon in the Carbonara was perfect! THE cream sauce in the Gnocchi had a perfect smoothness and zest! In asking... I found out that all sauces are made when ordered and done when the order has been requested. A most delicious way to enjoy pasta!! An awesome way to present pasta dishes!
There was a small instance where an order for a different table was almost put at our table and that looked particularly amazing. Those were pizzas. One looked like a prosciutto pizza. Long strips of prosciutto! Might be an option to try that next time I go back!
Anyway... The portions are superb! Fit for anyone. And even when the way place carried a different name prior to being called "Marcella" I believe regulars from when it was called Sammy's still come back. (3 more couples came in and asked about the change & I over heard the waitress)
Dessert! The tafuto is homemade! (A round mouse with chocolate hazelnut ice cream center- see pic) and my personal recommendation- "Death by Chocolate Cake" and if it weren't for the waitress suggestion I wouldn't have had it warm! I RECOMMEND WARM!! plus it comes with ice cream and whipped cream!
If you know yourself enough to enjoy food that creates a passionate positivity then having a meal or just "Death by Chocolate Cake" here at cafe Marcella is a Must must do! And even then... Maybe do a $3 single scoop of Gelato for the pass by!
Great over all presentation, ambience, and feel good inside food! I'm going back again!! Thanks Cafe Marcella! read more
