We come to sit, talk, share stories, our personal experiences and of course sip a fabulous beverage. I'm seeing this more and more as I visit fabulous coffee places.. Konditori, Villager, Bakeri, Hidden Grounds, and now Velvette Brew. First, the space: light, airy and I can imagine with their big windows, a sun soaked place on a sunny day. There are plenty of seats: tables and high top tables. Their menu offers a bit of everything from soup, sandwiches, quiche and pastries. There is a nice option of beverages hot/cold. Today, was a bit damp so I ordered a hot chai with bite size checkerboard cookies to dip. The barista was very pleasant and I found a seat while waiting for my chai. I see a lot of patrons working in laptops, some meeting up to talk and sip and even the barista chatted with a local patron. Love it! My chai was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chai was frothy, rich, the black tea leaves infused with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, sweetener, and milk. I savored every sip and complimented the barista. It is always great to find a new coffee place. I expect to be a loyal local at Velvette Brew. They also host music events and have a collaboration with Cry Baby Ice Cream. I picked the hot Chai with oat milk without espresso. This drink was very delightful and calm, not doing too much but delivering a balanced flavor of Chai and not too hot. The ambiance is casual and the decorum is true to an internet cafe of course with access to the Internet. I also tried the pistachio pastry. It had a great taste of pistachio and it held together well, not too sweet. I had the coffee cake which was a tad bit sweeter and I could smell the aroma of coffee when I bit into this pastry. It was delicious as well. In conclusion, this is an ideal spot to stop and get a warm, or cold drink to quench my desire, be it a chai, mocha, espresso, macchiato, or coffee. At the same time grabbing a bit to eat from the kitchen menu; such as avocado toast or an acai bowl. They even have tuna melts!!! Yummy.
