I'm so upset to have visited Cafe Nune today to find out, as I'm standing in front of their service counter that they will only fill ON-LINE orders! What? I am a customer, standing in front of them with a mask, and at least 8 feet away and the reason you will not serve me is what??? Come on! Twenty feet away from Cafe Nune's counter (in the very same building) is Mike's Subs counter. They don't seem to be having any COVID related issues serving their LIVE CUSTOMERS. I ordered their Kale Me Maybe salad and when I received the salad it was covered in an ABSURD amount of salt. Like an INSANE amount. My friend even pointed out how the lid looked like I dropped it face forward in sand. I brushed it off thinking the salt would be dispersed with the kale but boy, was I wrong. I took one bite and immediately needed to spit it out from the way the salt instantly burned the top of my mouth. I had my two other friends try it as well and we all agreed the salad was objectively the worst salad we've ever had. So I went back to the counter and let them know about the salad, and instead of reassuring me about making another salad without the salt, the manager/owner looked at me like I was crazy. I understand in a lot of instances, the customer isn't always right. But in this situation, the salad that I PAID $11 was objectively awful and was more salt than kale (I really wish I'd taken a picture). I usually always power through and finish a bad dish but I couldn't even get through one bite! Anyways, she very reluctantly gives me a $6 shake that I had to ask for and says I won't be refunded the rest. When I asked why, she verbatim says, "It's your opinion that you found the salad salty." I tell her the salad was OBJECTIVELY the saltiest food dish I've ever had and I couldn't even get through one bite and she goes on to say "Restaurants don't give you a refund on food that you don't eat." BUT THEY DO! All restaurants literally give you a FULL refund on a bad dish that they made because they KNOW sometimes things happen and a dish turns out horrible! The way she was speaking to me was also incredibly demeaning, like she was a mean girl in high school on a power trip. I've literally never experienced this level of unprofessionalism in my entire life, I can't believe I had to go through this at an acai shop. I just don't quite get how they claim to be a health food place but pour half of the container of Everything Bagel Seasoning into my salad, and then act like I was out of my mind for asking for a refund for a salad I couldn't get through ONE bite of! Even the customers next to us who were watching this entire exchange said that her attitude was very unnecessary and that even THEY won't come here again because of the way this establishment treated me. Please avoid this place at all costs and just make your smoothie bowl at home--it'll probably end up tasting better too. read more

Love. Finally a truly healthy option in town. The owner is so nice and welcoming. We had açaí bowls - by far the best in the area. Love the "create your own" aspect and all the choices! The decor is inviting and a little rustic. Trendy and perfect for a spot like this. Prices are better than average for this type of cafe! My daughter Michelle and I love this place! The staff is wonderful, so friendly and accommodating, and they make the most amazing bowls and smoothies! Everything is super fresh and delicious. We travel about 8 miles out of the way several times a week for a bowl and have other bowl places less than a mile away that we choose not to visit any longer. I just stopped into Cafe Nune and I was very impressed . The owner Sarah and her mom were fantastic and super personable. They have a nice selection of fresh salads , bowls , fresh juices and smoothies . I was feeling under the weather so I ordered the Throat Coat juice , it's really delicious and tastes so fresh . The pricing is reasonable for such fresh ingredients. I can't wait to go back to try one of their fruit bowls and their other drinks !! Great addition to Dunellen! read more

Fabulous staff. Amazing food. So many options that there's something for everyone. Fresh fruit, homemade granola, frozen açaí, we now crave a bowl. My favorite is a Greek yogurt bowl, with coconut almond granola, strawberries, mango, and pineapple with a honey drizzle. Yum!!! read more

I ordered a smoothie, a simple strawberry banana with almond milk. I wanted regular milk but they don't offer that. It cost me almost $7!!! It was incredibly small for the price and there was absolutely no taste. I didn't even finish it. I've had a million smoothies before and this was honestly the worst one. I can make better and cheaper smoothies at home and really should have that day. I wanted to like this place but if you can't even make a simple strawberry banana smoothie I don't see how you can really make anything else. Super disappointed. read more

I am absolutely obsessed with this place. The ambiance, the friendly staff, the acai bowls, the smoothies, and the avocado toast. I have had it all and i can't say enough about this place. It's such a great place for a quick breakfast before work, a healthy lunch with friends, or just a snack or drink through the day. So excited they are opening a second location closer to me. Cafe Nune is a great place to grab a smoothie, bowl, or salad and hang out. Great atmosphere with delicious options. If you're in a rush it's a fantastic guilt free option and all the food travels well. Easy to take and go or sit and relax. Highly recommend for breakfast and lunch! read more

This place is amazing , anyone saying otherwise might just be bored , sitting at home on the couch , doing nothing better with their lives then taking the time out of their day to write a bad review. I've been going to Cafe Nune for Years , and i even got to become friends with the owner before her grand opening a couple years back . Sarah and her entire staff treat everyone like family , always complimenting people or wishing them luck on something they have going on . These women are all hard working and they treat everyone with respect. I used to go there atleast 2 times a day because it was , and still is , delicious! Sarah works so hard to try and make everyone around her happy because she likes to see her customers with a smile on their face from the moment they walk through the door , until the last second they are out the door . Best açaí and pitaya bowls anywhere!!!! They are never watery and made with açaí and dragon fruit only (other places add ingredients as filler). The fruit is always fresh and delicious. Can't recommend enough. read more
