I have been a regular customer at The Juice House for years. It's such a nostalgic place for me personally and I know it means a lot to the local community as well - truly a staple of downtown Garwood. The ambiance is very modern and trendy with lots of seating options to enjoy your food in-store. There's also lots of outdoor seating, though not the most relaxing option because it's along a busy road/intersection. When I'm not with friends, I usually take my food to go, which is always a quick and easy process. I can easily say that The Juice House makes the best bowls (acai, pitaya, coconut, banana - you name it)! What really sets JH apart is their organic GRAWNOLA - it's so tasty and soft. The bowls have the perfect proportions of base, GRAWNOLA, and toppings, so every bite is flavorful. My go-to order is the Chocoberry Acai Bowl with honey, which truly hits the spot every time. Some other favorites are the CocoNutter Coconut Bowl and the JH Acai Bowl, but you truly cannot go wrong with whatever you order! This place is really nice, clean & healthy. It's definitely not the cheapest place to go it is pricey but most places like this are. As they say it can be expensive to eat healthy. I had in our açaí bowl which was pretty good I wish places like this did kid size because even their portion of a small is pretty hard to finish and it's something that taste so much better fresh rather than refrigerating it and eating it the next day. So if someone from the store is reading this please take my request into consideration because I think that would be Hit! The juices! I absolutely LOVE juice house! Personally I think that they have the best acai bowls I have ever had, even better than Playa Bowls. They started out by just having one kind of acai bowl, but now their menu is so extensive and caters to everyone's likes. TJH is located on busy North Avenue, right across the street from the Shop Rite in a newly constructed shared building with a gym, pizza place, and other shops. Parking is available in the rear of the building. (I, of course didn't realize that in spite of the many signs, oops!) The Juice House is open and inviting with bright green walls, lots of positive wall quotes, couches, plenty of tables, seating, and outlets to plug in your gadgets. I knew I was in the right place after seeing Navitas products, tons of leafy greens, fresh fruits, and other superfood goodies. I think a printed menu would be helpful for someone like me who is indecisive and has trouble reading the chalkboard menu. But you can always check out their menu online. Anyway, I was hungry and the first thing that caught my eye was their Acai bowl. I have never been to a healthy spot that has an acai bowl on their menu. I was super excited. I received it in a plastic to go container, which is convenient in case I wanted to take it to go. I wish they used a real bowl and utensils, but I know, I'm being picky. Plastic is so toxic when you're eating superfood goodness! My acai bowl was a large portion. It had a blended base of bananas, peanut butter, almond mylk, and acai powder. It was topped with fresh strawberries, pineapples, pitted dates, dried figs, puffed rice, goji berries, and coconut flakes. Though it was a cold treat, it was quite filling and I loved the texture and crunch of the puffed rice and goji berries. The strawbs and pineapple were too sour, but that's what happens when you eat fruit out of the season! Nonetheless, I finished my bowl within an hour and ordered their Zesty juice (carrot, orange, ginger, pineapple, and apple) to fight off some germs. Juice was a lovely orange color and was sweet and zesty. Loved it! The owner is a local Garwood resident who studied Nutrition. This is my favorite local acai bowl, no contest! This place is a decent drive from my town but I am still willing to pass much closer places, to go out of my way for it because it's so much better. I actually do prefer this location slightly to the one that's in New Providence. Here is what is unique about this place that I feel sets it apart: -great portion size, the smaller size is the perfect amount for a meal, the larger size is straight up huge lol -sorbet consistency acai instead of smoothie consistency -fruit cut into small pieces, I love that you can get a bit of each fruit in every bite that way! -great menu options, and very customizable -feels good to support a local and woman owned business instead of some chain -and best of all...the granola!! This is the only place I've been with raw, chewy granola instead of crunchy and it is so next level. Easily the best part of this place and the most unique part of their bowl. So I walk up and order a large Green Prana. I was asked to wait 10minutes and I'm cool with that. They call me over and after handing me my juice tell me that oh by the way, we don't have Turmeric bc (covid) and they're out. Ah, juice house. You were so novel to me when you first opened and I treated myself to a fresh juice every so often. I've had the Pitaya bowl and it is smaller than the acai bowl. Equally delicious though and it's fuscia so that's pretty cool. I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong eating fuscia colored food. I'm sure it's natural too. Really. Right? The bowls shouldn't really be called bowls anymore because they now come in cups. The soup seems to change every day. All the ones I've tried have been pretty good. The staff can range from friendly to too-cool-for-school to clueless. One guy must have been new because he literally had no idea what anything was and just seemed really confused. He actually seemed so confused I thought maybe he walked into the wrong place of work. One girl was an over the top know it all and thought me asking for a lid was just ridiculous because OF COURSE IT COMES WITH A LID even though the day before the person asked me if I wanted one, like there were actual choices to be lidded or lidless. After trying one of their smoothie bowls after only buying smoothies here, I feel like I can adequately write an accurate review. I love their smoothies, but I'll be largely discussing the acai bowls because of my recent, and first, experience at Playa Bowls in Cranford. I decided to try the "berry berry" bowl at the Juice House. My favorite parts of the bowl was how cold the acai was and the granola, which is a little strange coming from someone who doesn't like granola. The temperature of the bowl matters to me because I tend to take my time eating and don't like when smoothie bowls get too melty. I also really liked the granola because it's packed with a bunch of seeds (like chia and pumpkin seeds). It felt like it was packed with nutrients. In comparison to Playa Bowls, I definitely prefer coming here because the smoothies and smoothie bowls here taste less processed, healthier, and fresher. I also like that the sizes of the bowls and drinks are more specific than Playa Bowls, meaning they come in specific sizes according to fl oz. The prices also seem better here. More importantly, it's important for me to support smaller, local businesses as a Garwood resident. Shop small! read more

I am very sad to say that my fixation with TJH is over. I have been coming here EVERY Saturday morning for the past 5 months. You do the math $$$$. But the last 3 weeks have not been great. My orders have been wrong or completely wrong. And I haven't complained or anything. But today I can not not say anything. Don't go! The Juice House is one of the worst run establishments I have ever wasted my time going to. Really delicious Acai Bowls but not worth the aggravation. I waited a long time before writing this review because I wanted to give the Juice House time to work out their kinks as a new business but after my visit today, I felt compelled to talk about my experience. They have a rewards cards (see picture) that entitles you to a free juice of smoothie after you acquire 10 punches. I don't drink juices or smoothies but buy $10 Acai Bowls every time I go. Now that I have spent $100 in their store I'm told that I can't redeem my reward for a free Acai Bowl, which is asinine. If I pay for the Bowl each time why shouldn't I be able to get one once I buy 10 of those?? Also equally as frustrating is the fact that you can only receive 1 punch per transaction regardless of how many products you buy. So literally you can spend $50 and receive 1 punch or if you really want to frustrate the entire population of people waiting behind you, you can do a work around by asking the cashier to ring up all 5 things separately so that you can get 5 punches instead of 1 on your card. Sounds like what we all want to be doing on a morning of errands right? Worst of all, today I tried to give Juice House another try and asked the cashier why I couldn't redeem my 10 card punches for an Acai Bowl and she turned to be owner who could see I was visibly upset and the owner just shrugged her shoulders. No help offered, no explanation just a mere look of I don't care. So yes you guessed it - as a woman of principle I will not be back. I can not speak more highly of Juice House. Juice house will always be my ride or die. People do not understand what acai is until they come here. It is the real deal and beyond delicious. Not to mention the rawnola mixed with a honey drizzle, OHH MAN. I am a college student and I never realized how hard it would be to find the perfect acai in NYC. I can promise you I have tried and failed its either entirely too sugary or too "liquidy". The acai at juice house is not stupidly blended with other ingredients. It's perfectly frozen and tasty. 10/10 every time and I go at least 2 times a week. ONLY SUGGESTION: Start some sort of loyalty program/ rewards system. IE. Went to check out this spot and their pitaya bowls. I really enjoyed my bowl, the smallest portion size was plenty for lunch. I wish I could read this place higher but there were two really hard pieces in my bowl as I was eating. It was really hard to bite into and I couldn't quite tell exactly what it was, it was black and hard. Was not great finding that in the bowl, I'm sure things can happen cutting up different types of fruits but then it happened again and it was a bit turned off to this place. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, with plenty of other spots around I have not had this experience elsewhere. Awesome place! I've had this place book marked for a few months and finally drove by which reminded me I wanted to check it out. Went the next day and really have no complaints. I got "earth" which was very good. I typically get a berry blast or something of that nature when I get smoothies, I didn't see anything like that on their menu. Kind of disappointed but earth was not bad. There is parking in the back and I'm sure a rear entrance but I did not see any signs. I will be back for sure. So let me start off by saying I'm not want much of a complainer......I actually don't even write very many reviews. But I felt the need to write one today! Juice House has always been by far my favorite place for açai bowls. BUT, Today I was SADLY disappointed and actually rethinking if I will go back again. I have been going to juice house since they opened and when they first open their prices by far were the best I've ever seen and they always would pack up the açai bowls with lots of delicious stuff. I understand that the economy changes and prices go up which is totally fine. But when I got my two Açai bowls today the price has gone up to $13 each for a 32 ounce container at first I did not even question the price because I know I've always been happy with how it was made. When they gave me my two bowls AND. they both had big holes all around that weren't filled with anything!!!! To top it all off when I got home my açai bowl finally settled down and when I put it on a scale WITH the container it only weighed 22.40oz The sign says $13 for a 32 ounce container!!!!!! my other container weighed 20.23oz that really made me disappointed I paid $26 and both of my containers that were barely full. The time before I try to substitute something in the Açai bowl and they tried to charge me $2 extra I said forget it because I wasn't asking for more stuff in the container nor was I getting anything extra I was just asking to switch out something that was in side. I hope my review was helpful to some and for those that don't care that's fine as well but just know that when you get a 32 ounce container it is not full anymore you might as well just get the small one you're probably getting just as much. read more

Super trendy place, awesome decor & their menu offers a vast array of acai bowls, smoothies and juices. I tried the #15 smoothie & it was awesome!
