Simply put, Cafe Tandoor Westlake is the BEST Indian food! Whether you like mild or spicy, they will make it just the way you ask for it. The Manager is terrific and the Service is really good. Our favorites are the Chicken Biryani and Lamb Rogan Josh. Appetizers like Samosas taste incredible. And don't forget to save room for dessert... their homemade ice cream is delicious! read more

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Food second only to that served to me by my friends' aunties. My family tried three different entrees, two different kinds of naan, and two different kinds of rice. All were delicious. A quiet hole in the wall in a shopping center, Cafe Tandoor is much more upscale than it looks from the outside. The value is there, but don't come here looking for a $10 meal. The service is in line with more upscale locales where the wait staff hovers out of sight but can be waved over. Another great meal at Cafe Tandoor last evening -- and we've had many over the years. Ordered 4 dishes, Chicken Shahi Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Jalfrezzie, and Shahjahni Curry, and each was delicious and spicy with tender meat and plenty of their flavorful sauces. Also had the delicious Vegetable Pakora appetizer, as well as rice and garlic naan. Service is always good. Precise and attentive without being overbearing in any way. Although I'm giving it a 5-star review, I can't for the life of me understand why rice is not included with the meals. It is the only Indian or Asian restaurant I've ever been to in any city where this is the case. Every other Indian restaurant in this area serves complimentary rice, as it wouldn't make any sense to eat the meal without it. It's almost the equivalent of charging extra for a bun in a hamburger joint. Just a real head-scratcher. read more

Eaten here with the bro a hundred times and always leave happy with a warm belly. He gets the butter chicken which is chicken breast in a creamy tomato & butter sauce. Usually order it mild. Lately we've been splitting one order of butter chicken with the nan bread & saffron rice. I used to get the rogan josh which is lamb curry w garlic, ginger & onion. I really love it so we do one or the other. The flavors in these dishes really blend together with the protein. Just delicious & very consistent. Kingfisher Indian beer sometimes but I'm trying to cut down. Beautiful friendly waitress too, she must like us bc we always get her. Come here about every other month or so. I feel bad dirtying the clean glass top tables with all my curry but they must have an easy way to tidy it up. Big Z from the Cavs used to eat here. Nice looking restaurant. They really cared about a food allergy at our table. Such fresh and authentic food. Highly recommend- best Indian food we have ever tried.

Food: We ordered the Tofu Makhani and Sagg Mushroom dishes along with the saffron rice and garlic naan. I asked the spice level to be medium for the makhani because that's typically a good spice level for me at other restaurants. However, there was no detectable heat at all and I can't say it tasted like a typical curry. While it tasted great, it was basically just a sweet tomato sauce. Very impressed with the Sagg mushroom though and the garlic nan was great. As a note, most entrees don't come with rice so you have to order it if you want it. Service: Attentive and polite service, did not have to wait long for food. It was not busy when we went so that might change but otherwise it was very good. Atmosphere: Calm and quiet atmosphere. Again, it wasn't busy when we were there but I imagine it's fairly similar. read more

Cafe Tandoor is a cozy spot located in a strip mall in Westlake. The interior is very nice, white table cloth nice with tables and booths. The service can be a bit slow at times but it's worth the wait. I have not eaten a bad meal here. My all-time favorite is the Tandoori Salmon. People tend to overcook salmon for my tastes but they do it just right. It's served on a sizzling skillet with plenty of tender veggies. You can adjust the spice level to your preference. I specifically asked for rice, since some reviews said it didn't come with rice, and I did not see an additional charge for that, so maybe thats why I got a small amount of the curry and not much chicken. Food was delicious! They got one of our orders wrong. They added a gratuity on to a party of 6 and never informed us. We didn't realized and tip again which was also more than 20 percent of the total with the added tip. I have worked in the restaurant business and so have many of my family members and it is customary to inform the customer that the tip was added on. This place is quiet. Which is a good thing, I think. THe location is privately nooked almost out of sight from anyone (although in a strip mall next to a nice camera store) so it tends to slip my mind that it exists - but the great food and professional service makes it one of my favorite places to go! Whenever my wife mentions it, we end up there and have a great meal. It can be a romantic dinner or just a casual bite- either way, there are no TVs or anything - instead ... there are a few statues (which my 5-year old claims need more clothing on) and artwork that bring the Indian culture a bit closer than it was before you came in the door. I've brought kids several times and they tend to make it go from craziness level zero to crazy level 6. But that's out of 10 and the employees there are always super laid back about it. They have a kids menu that is great and they give out crayons and a decent Taj Mahal drawing for the kids to color in. They have a nice (although tidy) selection of bottled beers and wines as well as many great dishes. Really an excellent place to get a vegetarian meal that is wholesome and balanced while being extremely tasty. If you need a relaxing dinner without distractions, Cafe Tandoor will leave you thanking Annapurna (the Indian God of food and cooking). read more

Fair at best. You cannot hang your hat on a $4.50 naan bread. Really, it's a piece of pita cut into 4's. Unfortunately, it was the best thing we ate. Butter chicken sauce was awesome, but the chicken was tough. My non vegetarian mixed platter ( favorite thing on the menu) was ill timed and cold. When a new one arrived, it was again, fair at best. They seem to focus on to go food and everything else suffers. Restaurants wise, they seem to be cleaning, wearing masks etc. but if the food is no good, why bother? Every time I get excited about eating out, there is disappointment. Relish in the fact that people need to get out and are supporting you. This is the third time I have ordered food from cafe tandoor. I ordered multiple dishes. Their food doesn't taste like Indian food. It tastes like tomato pepper soup. I ordered the dishes spicy and although it was a little spicy (maybe a 3/10) it was so sweet. It tastes like a westlake soccer mom did her best to make something authentic and failed miserably. I keep trying this place hoping it will improve because there are limited Indian restaurants in Cleveland but this place is just awful.
