This place serves a fantastic lunch buffet. On the weekdays, it's something like $15 or $16 a person, which in my opinion, is a great deal. The food was hot and delicious. I indulged in crispy samosas, juicy tandoori chicken, naan bread, chicken biryani, and more. The buffet also included dessert. When I went, the restaurant had this warm carrot pudding (might be an acquired taste for some people) and gulab jamun (definitely less of an acquired taste). I have been craving Indian food for a while and I had no idea this place was so close. I have only been to one other Indian restaurant and I fell in love with the Paneer Makahani. When I saw this place had it, I was super excited. I ordered take out and got it spicy (if you like it hot, get it hotter than spicy because it was pretty mild) and the food was ready to go when I arrived. I savored every single bite. This is the best Saffron Patch in town. Actually, the best Indian restaurant in town. The ambience is very nice and clean, with three large TV's playing Bollywood films. The waiter was on top of his game and didn't even need to write our table of six orders down. Food came out so quick without compromising taste. The Papadi chaat was so good. But the butter chicken was so rich in flavor and chicken was cooked to perfection. Never had butter chicken that tasted so good. And this was all at a reasonable price. When I arrived, I was the only one in the dining room until a couple came in at another table. It was in between lunch and dinner. I ordered the mulligatawny soup and vegetable samosas. They were both excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. What really turned me off was seeing the waiter cough into his hands and then proceed to straighten all the water glasses immediately after without washing them. Then he came to my table and refilled my water before I had a chance to say no thanks. This is our go to place for Indian food! I'm not much of a reviewer but the food and service here is so good that it would be a shame to not share and support! The chicken tikka masala and the lamb vindaloo are our absolute favorites! We also recently tried the chicken methi which was also really good! Make sure you remember to order some of the naan *we order the garlic* as it makes for an excellent vessel for enjoying all of the sauces! I also have a bit of a sweet tooth so I enjoy getting the chocolate spring rolls! The service is always wonderful. The employees make us feel like important and valued customers and are very respectful and welcoming. To top it off, we receive our food quickly and there is always a staff member that is attentive to our needs! They have also been very generous in letting us try some of their traditional drinks and street foods at no cost to us. Had gone to east side branch years ago and loved the food there, but the drive was long. This place is unusual in that there is an indian food menu and a chinese/asian food menu. Once you get through all the choices, you can put together a pretty interesting meal. I had momoes (spicy Tibetan dumplings) followed by chicken tikka makhni, rounded out with bhatoora puffy bread and a mango lassi. The momoes were good, enhanced by an included chunky szechuan sauce and quickly inhaled. Makhni is usually very mild, but I was given a choice of spiciness, so I picked medium. Turns out the creamy, tomatoey sauce handles a little kick quite well. It came with basmati rice and the bhatoora bread I ordered was great for dipping. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and left satisfied. Service was friendly and attentive, though it seemed most orders were take out or delivery. There also seemed to be a party in an adjacent hall run by the restaurant. read more
