I just had one of the best happy hour meals of my life! My boyfriend and I have started enjoying the happy hour at Cafe Vino on a somewhat regular basis now. It always exceeds our expectations. However, last night was particularly exceptional. Firstly, our server, Ary, was the best server I think I have ever had...ever. She was attentive, engaging, genuine, and she obviously was passionate about the food. She made some killer recommendations and I just can't say enough. We had the seasonal bruschetta, bacon jam with balsamic reduction, and it was one of the most delightful things I've put in my moth in a really really long time. Everything we ordered was divine, including the happy hour margarita, which was just the perfect amount of sweet. Hats off to Cafe Vino. We stopped in on a whim last night and had the most lovely experience. We had the kindest waitress (Arianna) and she was beyond helpful. She coursed out our meal for us and had some absolutely gas recommendations. I ordered the big bold wine flight and it was superb. My boyfriend got the old fashioned and loved it. After the wine flight I downed two el chapos (tasted like spa water, so refreshing). For food, we ordered the bacon wrapped dates (omg! So good), the Brussels (yum!), the Margarita pizza (highly recommend their pizza, it's cooked on pastry dough), and steak frites. I cannot say enough good things about the food! For dessert we had a few (don't judge us) crème brûlées (absolutely slapped). I can't wait to be back. Everyone was so kind and jovial. Sherm also made our experience lovely. Four of us had dinner a few weeks ago and it was beyond disappointing;I've been here many times over the last 10 years and this wasn't a good experience. Truly embarrassing in front of our out -of -town guests. The waitress/server was the worst. She was contrite and treated her job as if it were a joke. Went to Cafe Vino with 2 other couples for the happy hour. We were seated and given the regular menu and the happy hour menu. We ordered happy hour drinks which were fine. The waitress then came to the table and asked for our food orders. The happy hour menu had a hamburger listed for $10 and the waitress asked each of us if we wanted the classic burger or the chef special burger. On the happy hour menue the burger was listed as follows: Black Angus Burger $10.00 topped with LTO or ask about the Cafe Burger of The Day . Served with housemade chips 5 of the 6 in our party ordered the burger (4 classic and 1 chef special). Although the food was good, when the bill came we were charged $22 for the classic burger and $25 for the chef special burger. We informed the waitress of the mistake in the bill, and she told us that there was no mistake. Since we did not specifically order the $10 happy hour burger, she assumed that we wanted the $22 wagyu burger that was on the regular menu. Considering that everything else that was ordered was on the happy hour menu, not asking which burger (black angus or wagyu) we wanted seemed to be done on purpose to increase the bill. The waitress brought the manager over and her comment was since we did not specifically order the happy hour burger, the waitress was correct assuming that we wanted the $22 wagyu burger. Although she did remove 1 happy hour drink from each of our bills, she said that because it was our error she could not correct the the cost of the burger. She then nastily told us to leave the restaurant. In all of my years going to restaurants, this is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. Oh my gosh, our first time at Cafe Vino. We went for a Birthday lunch and we'll go back again for more deliciousness!! We ordered a burrata salad and a Margherita pizza. The salad had a variety of juicy tomatoes surrounding the burrata with a delicious balsamic dressing with an added surprise of tiny pearls of balsamic. The pizza may have been the best pizza that I have ever had in my long life - and I'm not exaggerating! Our server was pleasant, polite and efficient. We came here on a Friday night and the place was full but they were still able to us a table for 2 right away as the place has ample seating. It was kinda loud with all the people talking but not too loud that we had to yell to converse. The ambiance was nice. We sat kinda close to the bar and I saw the bartenders pretty busy so I'm guessing a lot of people there were drinking. My friend loved her drinks. I loved the food! We got the bacon wrapped dates which were delicious. I usually don't like feta cheese, but it was a good combination with the bacon and the dates. I also got the clam chowder which was very tasty and warm. It was pretty cold outside, so this was perfect to warm me! For our main dishes, we got the scallops and the special salmon. The scallops tasted fresh and it came with some really tasty risotto. The special with salmon and pasta was delicious although it was kind of heavy feeling in your stomach. We finally topped it off with dessert with carrot cake. It was a great meal! The service was top-notch. The waitress was really attentive and nice. The operations manager, Sherman came to visit us as well and chatted with us. He was very friendly. I'll definitely come back here when I'm in town. read more

One star for some good flavors and presentation. Side pasta that came with chicken piccata, Brussel sprouts, and seasonal salads were pretty good. Do not recommend ordering chicken. Not the place for it. It was under-seasoned (if seasoned at all), and very dry on both the salad and in the chicken piccata dishes. Cannot add any more stars for service or ambience. Those were not offered on two different visits. The hosts had "we are so busy without you" attitude, most waiters did too, don't count on condiments being brought to you or drinks being refilled. The noise level of a school cafeteria at the peak of a school lunch. The interior has no sound dampening materials. The silverware was being cleaned and thrown into a container constantly, and occasionally large quantities of those were being dropped right in the dining area. When trying to communicate with the waiter and those sounds being disrupting, his comment was "this is where we are told to do it". The place has room, it just not being utilized intelligently. Table assignment decisions are very puzzling... we were placed in what looked like a waiting area with a couch that needs to retire, destroyed by use and time. To our surprise it was introduced to us as our dinner table. This was with an advance reservation by phone and no warning; not all regular tables were occupied. The cafe is in a desperate need of management that would care about guests' experience, and capable of arranging for basic staff training. This place still is on a better side in FoCo food scene thanks to the kitchen. read more

Update on my previous review: Still the same beautiful and classy atmosphere, absolutely perfect for business casual clients. Their wine list is extensive, and drink menu is amazing. Although, the reason I'm updating my review is too unfortunately state that the hummus is not the same as it used to be. The chips were poorly over seasoned with a bitter dry mix, and the hummus was bland and drowned with truffle oil. Luckily the bone marrow burger made up for my lunch today. I ordered it with a side of seasonal chili, and it was a delicious recovery from my appetizer. Hopefully it was just a fluke today, and I know from the past, this place can be the #1 cafe in town. Our bartender was kind, and quick with service. Topping my drink off whenever it was empty, and too add, he was working hard on cleaning up the bar and making sure that it was prepped for the hopefully busy night too come. We arrived on time for our reservation, but after waiting for about 15 minutes, we were seated at a bar table with a diameter of approximately 18 inches. As two tall men with wide statures, this was clearly inadequate. I politely asked if there was another option but was told that nothing else was available, despite at least eight dirty tables around the restaurant that could have been cleaned. The host's attitude was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. It's not normally the kind of food we eat - we prefer food that is a little more simple. We aren't foodies. That said, we did enjoy our meals. The meatballs were excellent, and my hubby loved his spinach salad. Our daughter tried something different, the pork belly ravioli, and as picky as she is, she enjoyed it. It came as a deep fried chicken patty that you see on a chicken sandwich. Absolutely no taste of lemon at all in the dish. I have been to the Cafe for 13 years now...we had stopped going very often the last few years leading up to COVID because the vibe had become a bit Too Cool For School. Management changed after COVID, and the Cafe is *transformed* into an accepting and positive space to meet with friends and have an excellent time! The food is delectable, the wine flights and cocktails are the best we've had in Fort Collins, the staff (we had long interactions with no less than four different servers / hosts throughout our meal) are smart / helpful / professional / engaging, and the ambiance is bright and lively. Excellent music, not overbearing or awkward, and supportive of the overall vibe...basically, the Cafe just works! We are so happy to see the changes there, and strongly encourage the uninitiated to visit it for really any occasion. Excellent date spot, nice place to just have drinks and small plates, and capable enough to have a formal outing or even a customized event in their separate dining space. We went to Cafe Vino Friday April 28th for our twins 21st birthday dinner. We were a party of 8, and ordered a lot of different items. Our waitress, Billie, was absolutely amazing. She made us feels like the most important guests in the restaurant. She made my 79 year old mom feel important and special. She checked on her, and talked to her every time she came to the table. The food was incredible. We order the mushroom spinach pizza for an appetizer. It was the best pizza I have ever eaten. All of our dishes were great, but the summer squash, and the shrimp gnocchi were phenomenal. We will be return customers. read more

Cafe Vino is my go-to brunch date spot which roughly translates to me getting to go there once or twice a year, but I love it. I'm normally a pretty conservative pizza topping guy, but I always go with the Pizza Louie - sliced pears, smoked bacon, Moody Blue cheese, mozzarella, finished with local honey. It may sound odd, but I always encourage others to try it and everybody seems to be impressed. They also have an extensive draft beer selection which often will includes some hard to find treats like the Pliney the Elder I had on this visit. The atmosphere is a unique combination of classy but casual, and you can sit at the bar, find a fairly private table, or sit by the fireplace - not a bad seat in the house! read more

I've been here twice and both visits were exceptional. The first time, my fella and I shared a wine flight, the Mushroom Cake, the Pork Osso Buco, and the Carrot Cake (sorry I don't have pictures!) It was a freaking experience. Probably one of the best meals we've had and we've had some incredible meals, let me assure you. The second visit was a couple of months ago now and this time I tried the Shrimp Gnocchi and my boyfriend got the duck breast special. Again, the flavors exceeded expectations. The bread starter was okay but our entrees and the dessert (Date Cake this time) stole the show. The chef here can stand up against Michelin starred restaurants and really should have a Beard nod or two honestly. And the owner/manager(s) genuinely care! They walk the floor and speak with their guests. It's refreshing and you know what? It's infectious because the rest of the staff clearly cares too. We've had the pleasure of being served by Ari (I really hope I'm remembering her name correctly...) both times and she's a gem. Oh, and the cocktails are super tasty too! So, Vino is now under new management and re-opened with some changes. Most are really good! I am a big fan of bubbles, and I really appreciate Flight #1- all really great choices. We also had our beloved bacon-wrapped dates and Spinach Mushroom Pizza, which are both still very good, and very close to what we remember before COVID. So let's talk about that S'Mores dessert. Ugh. Not a good choice. Not at all. From reading the description on the menu- peanut butter semifreddo, brownie berry coulis, marshmallow, etc.... YUM! We were so excited. Imagine our surprise when the whole thing shows up in a locked Mason Jar... filled with campfire smoke. Uh... HUH? The whole dessert tasted like icky smoke! Why would you ruin such wonderfulness? You don't even get that strong a smoke taste when you make smores over an actual campfire! No, no, no, Vino! If you HAVE to get cute with this dessert, at least warn people on the menu. ;) Get rid of the icky smoke in that otherwise wonderful dessert, and you've got another 5-star review. I was offered the Rack of Lamb. Understood it came with couscous. This was only half a rack in that it was 4 small chops which I mentioned to the waitress.
