Parking is difficult - but we lucked out and got the last spot in the front. We were greeted and seated quickly and although the place is small we got the worst view, but the service was still fantastic. It was super clean and super busy. The tables were never open very long and we lucked out to get one without waiting, even on a Monday morning! We definitely experienced our worst language barriers while here and relied heavily on pictures. I thought I could speak enough spanish to get breakfast and coffee, but I froze on stage... The only real disappointment we had was the pictures online show some really fancy coffee and we did not get that. What we did get was very good coffee and very delicious and super fresh breakfasts. We would recommend this as a place to go if you want to come away from the beach and the tourist traps there. We would definitely recommend and would come back. Plan to have parking issues, but don't give up. This is a neat place and a fun find!

What we did get was quite good. The frozen coffee was the correct order but the iced coffee was supposed to be an Americana and we thought we were ordering and empanadilla but we were wrong. We were pleasantly surprised with what we got. The coffee was great and the pechuga empanada was delicious and we have never had it before. All and all was a good experience the staff was friendly and the service was fast. The food tasted very fresh. My only complaint was that the computer system wasn't functioning properly so it wasn't showing on our side what was being ordered so we had no idea it was wrong until we paid and saw our receipt. We had came in to grab a coffee and a snack and ended up with two full meals and spent $34. Definitely inspired me to get back to studying up on Spanish!

Plus, the STAFF is top notch, they clearly love being a part of this popular spot that has a lot of heart! This is a place that UPR students call home. There's even a special room where students can study, plug in their laptops, enjoy the air conditioning and have study groups. The staff is very welcoming, there's a nice wooden deck out front that is shady and cool. For me, it was a nice experience to catch the vibe of the local scene before checking out the Museum at University of Puerto Rico's Museum in Rio Piedras. I ordered a grilled fish dish that hit the spot for lunch. They have great coffee here too... I didn't realize that there really aren't that many food options within walking distance to UPR. This one was recommended to me, it offers fresh made food in a bright, sunny pleasant atmosphere. Try it! Be sure to also check out the Museum at UPR -Rio Piedras and the indoor "Mercado" for fruits/veggie vendors and more!

The restaurant is spacious with colorful and expressive art all over the walls. You're hearing Latin music in the background there's a large bar in the left corner. The menu is big, there's so much that you would want to try so go with the big party. Your offered three different styles of plant proteins when you order your traditional dish. We had the Pasteles, Mofongo, ALcapurria and Sorullitos. Everything came out hot and fresh. The Mofongo was out of this world. And I make Mofongo. The Alcapurria was delicious of Smith's first time having it. The portions are large enough to share. Or have leftovers. You are so lucky to meet the owner. The super friendly gentleman he gave us the backstory of why he started this restaurant. Changing his diet helped him recover from cancer. And it was about the way he ate. So he wanted to share this opportunity with meat eaters. So the whole goal of his restaurant is vegan food for meat eater so they can see that they are not missing anything. The owner also is a famous DJ. He has a talk show radio. And he's been doing it since the 70s. It was a lovely experience my Bestie found this restaurant for me. Because I'm a vegan/sometimes pescatarian. I don't get to try all the foods. It was such a lovely experience.
