Quaint little coffee shop with seats available(seats about 10-16?) , Friendly service, Really good cortados and wifi access...what more can a guy ask for? ;) So far, I go for the cortados and a few baked good(which are really good!) I think they specialize in making drinks, deserts and various goodies with nutella; I haven't tried anything yet, but will soon!
After seeing the announcement of the opening if this place a whilr ago I honestly had very high hope for this place. I even got lost twice trying to find it. Whuch I though would had been worth it. We ordered the nutella latte, chocolate coconut coffee, nutella quesito, nutella cheesecake bite, and a nutella carrot cake bite. The coffees were good but nothing special. The carrot cake was so dry that my fork didn't want to cut into it and it tasted like fridge. Putting nutella between two tiny pieces of carrot cake is not very original and the nutella taste was very faint. The quesito looked like it had nothing inside and was staled. The texture of the cheesecake was strange and overly sweet. Nothing really tasted fresh. Decent coffee bur nothing has a price. Like why? Great concept but very very poorly executed. Unless this place improves greatly I will not be back.
This coffee shop is a little out of place in San Patricio plaza, I think the atmosphere would have been a lot nicer if in a different location. The service was friendly and quick. I had an 8 oz latte and the pecan tart. The tart wasn't overly sweet, even though it had a dollop of nutella on the top, but the nutella was lighter and fluffier in consistency which I really liked. The latte, while pretty, didn't meet up to expectation. I liked that the latte was hot temperature wise, but it didn't have that smooth, slightly sweet milky taste that you can expect from heated milk.
I've been dying to come here ever since ads for this restaurant have been popping up all over my Facebook. All the food pictures kept tempting me until I decided to crawl out of my study cave and try it out. Not my brightest idea considering today is Father's Day. Anyways, my boyfriend and I got to Hazel Bar at about 11:15a and there was one large party ordering. I don't know if it was the fact that the party couldn't decide on their food or that the cashier was new but it took forever for that transaction to finish and for us to finally order. This is a "order at the front and then sit down" kinda place (does that have a formal name? I don't know). The cashier appeared to not know the ingredients of the items on the menu which was slightly off putting but I shrugged it off as having to do with her being new. In the end, we ended up ordering one espresso; a bacon, turkey and Monterey cheese sandwich on baguette, a hazel trio sandwich (that consisted of salami, turkey and ham) with Munster cheese on baguette and to finish a cookie shot with hazelnut ice cream (to go with the theme of the place). All the sandwiches came with chips and water. The food was great and really what earned the place 4 stars instead of 3. The baguette on both sandwiches was soft without being soggy. The sandwich was flavorful with just a tiny hint of mustard which I like cause it gives it a tiny kick. The chips were meh, just the average kettle cooked bagged chips, nothing to write home about. My boyfriend says the espresso was nice, not too bitter. They don't bring sugar, syrup, napkins or anything to the table so you have to get up to get everything which is a bummer. The cookie shot was exactly that, a cookie shaped into a shot glass lined on the inside with chocolate and filled with ice cream (it can be filled with milk if that's your thing). The cookie was a bit hard to split with a spoon and that had me worried about biting into it but it turned out to be just the perfect hardness to serve as a glass but not so hard that it was impossible to eat. The hazelnut ice cream paired perfectly, not too overpowering but also not so bland that it faded away. I almost took 2 stars off for the service but I forgave them a star because the barista was so nice. I believe she is the owner cause she went around the restaurant and made sure to speak to all the customers. That being said, the place is small and we (cause some times the smartness takes a holiday) went on Father's Day so the wait was pretty long for our food (over 30 minutes) and I already mentioned that we had to wait forever to order. The place seats about maybe 16 people and that's pushing it. The kitchen from what I can see is tiny as well so don't expect to be in and out quick, especially on weekends. I will give the place kudos for opening on Sundays and for opening on Father's Day. Most small restaurants on the island tend to close on Sunday's so it's always nice to find a new place to eat that opens Sundays. Decor wise I will say the place is cute with modern chic lighting, menus, tables and chairs but the seats are not comfortable, I am a 5'7" girl and I felt like a sardine trying to fit my average sized legs under the tiny tables. All in all, I recommend the place, it's got a cozy atmosphere but it's got some improvements to do. I'll probably order to go next time. P.S. They do accept phone orders for carry out from what I read on the menu!

I was real excited because WHO doesn't love nutella. My friend and I came in to pass some time before going to the airport and there was a comfy sitting area both inside and outside. I ended up getting a matcha latte (which they added pumpkin spice to) and a hazelnut tres leches cake. Both were alright and the cake definitely scratched the hazelnut chocolate itch, but they were way too sweet. The pumpkin spice they added to the matcha was nice, but it added sugar to a drink that was already much too sugary for its own good. I'm not sure what kind of matcha they added to it, but it also tasted oddly artificial. Kinda like the Trader Joe's Green Tea Latte mix, which I know is very specific, but it's TRUE. Drinking it all gave me a raging headache from the sugar rush. The tres leches, again, was yummy, but much too sweet. I wish they let the nutella do it's magic rather than adding even more sugar to supplement the sugar already in the nutella. read more
This place is hidden on a little side street by the Courtyard in San Juan. It is adorable on the side - very clean and modern while still being comfy. They have a ton of customizable sandwich options where you can customize the bread (bread and waffle options). We got a turkey pesto sandwich with the waffle as our bread. It was amazing. I left the perfect amount satiated for a quick early breakfast. Their iced coffee was also amazing and came out quick. They have a glass case filled with pastries that you can order as well. We got the guava and cheese monkey bread. It had some of the best guava and cheese flavors we had while on the island. Definitely recommend! read more

Covd precautions are great, they limit people in the shop which is nice. The tres leches is to die for. I also got a shot of espresso & it's way better than Starbucks! read more

Staff is great and friendly and great listeners! Enjoyed the gluten-free oatmeal cookie made with dates and walnuts. The cappuccino was delicious read more

Funky coffee bar in the heart of a mall.. Just down from the movies and food court but worlds away in quality, flavor and taste. A great break from Mall as usual. read more

Best pastry shop in PR! Breakfast are delicious. Definitely will come back! Waffle sandwich is awsome and loved the nutella latte! For dessert i had the pecan pie and tried the nutella roll! Loved it so much had to buy another one for my kids. read more

Modern spot at San Patricio Mall and heaven for Nutella lovers. Great service, they described all Nutella based pastries and recommended their favorites! They serve Puertorrican coffee (Hacienda San Pedro). Everything was fresh and full of flavor. It was quiet and nice until a rush came in and then it was crowded, for it is a small place. Will visit again! Thumbs up!!! read more
