Caffe Roma is located just across from the Palais des Festivals, which makes it incredibly convenient (especially if you're in the area for an event). I enjoyed the outdoor seating which was next to a fountain. That said, despite its prime location, the overall experience was disappointing, especially considering the pricing and the subpar service.
I was initially drawn in by the fresh pasta and had high hopes for the pesto gnocchi. Visually, it looked appealing, but the dish itself lacked the flavor and depth you'd expect. The gnocchi was soft but ultimately bland, with the pesto tasting flat and under-seasoned. It was missing the brightness and richness that typically make this dish shine.
Service was also noticeably slow. It took a while for anyone to come by, and getting the check at the end felt like an unnecessary waiting game.
In a city like Cannes, where great food is never far, Caffe Roma unfortunately leans too much on its location rather than delivering a memorable dining experience. Unless you're stopping out of pure convenience, I wouldn't recommend it and there are plenty of better options around. read more
