This town is so cute and this is the main restaurant there. The seating area is gorgeous and plenty! You walk thought the building to their outside courtyard that has many tables, then when you pass the pizza cooking area, there are stairs that lead down to more seating. It is such a gorgeous place! It makes you feel like you're in the middle of Italy. It is truly a paradise. I ordered the vegetable pizza, but there were so many items that looked really good. They had a whole section on their menu about their bread and now I wish I ordered something including their bread because someone else in our party ordered the French toast and that was the best French toast I've ever had! The bread was a cranberry walnut bread and their butter was so nice and creamy. Omg I wish I had ordered that! I hope I get to visit this town again because I most definitely want to order that next time. The bread is so thick and fluffy. My pizza, nonetheless, was still really good as well. They have chili oil out on the table which added a nice touch to the pizza. One thing to note is that none of the waitresses speak English, so it's a truly Mexican experience. On our way out, we ordered pastries to go. We got their bread pudding which was not great (at least not later in the day) and also this croissant pastry filled with creme and fruit like strawberries and blueberries and it was so good! I normally hate fruit in desserts and I also don't like croissants, but whatever cream was in the middle made the whole thing come together so well! It was similar tasting to a blintz and that's one of my favorite desserts. I would never ordered that on my own, but I'm so glad we got it!

    Ceiling umbrellas! Lovely

We stopped by for breakfast and were delighted by assorted pastries to choose from. We chose to stay and have breakfast and after I opened a few of the pastry boxes that were "to go" we had a few bites from each one and an omelet to boot!

Caffe El Triunfo is on a parallel side street, 2 blocks from the main highway through town. Thanks to Yelpers, we found it. The street is reminiscent of small towns in Spain - narrow streets with brick buildings and cement steps up to the front door sidewalks. The Caffe is next door to the city hall, both hidden amongst the trees. The caffe was once a 2-3 story building, but appears to be a repurposed rustic ruin. An outside canopy replaces a once existing roof. Several ovens and chimneys appear above the roof line, reminiscent of a once existing "taller" for smelting silver, gold, plates and pottery. Today the building has become the bakery (and restaurant) of Marcus Spahr, a bread maker trained in France. The building was the ideal conversion from smelting plant to bakery. The owner claims to have designed his own ovens, based on 25 years of research in bread making. Our family of "viejos" (6 patriarchs attending a wedding in Los Barriles) found this quaint, rustic restaurant on an afternoon return trip from La Paz. I'm the Spanish speaker in the family, quickly reading the menu and realizing that an order of sliced fresh breads with butter, from the oven, should be the focus of the lunch. OMG, was that the right choice! The multigrain breads with nutty, chewy flavors, proofed and baked over a 24-hour cycle, created a hint of sweet sourdough aromas that lingered on the palate. Add the taste of real butter, and the whole experience was Heaven! I could go on and on and on...but I'll let the pictures tell the rest This is a 5-Star stop in old Mexico!

We arrived early after having breakfast at our hotel. Wish we had skipped breakfast and waited to eat here. Ordered a cinnamon bun to split among the three of us. We can't stop thinking about the cinnamon bun. Quite literally the best I've ever had. Stuff dreams are made of. Charming town and incredibly friendly locals. Well worth the day trip.

Fantastic cafe with a wonderful selection of food. The pizzas and bread are to die for and are freshly baked in the wood fired oven. Convenient location between La Paz and Los Barielles. Parking nearby and plenty to see nearby. Always a great place for a coffee or pastry too.

    You really have to!

So glad we decided to stop into this wonderful old gold and silver mining town. Quick history: Founded in the late 18th century by Manuel de Ocio. In the late 1800's a British mining group took over and became a boomtown. In the 1900's, the mines closed and went away. Fast forward to now: It's a fabulous spot, once again. This spot started becoming the place to be when Marcus Spahr (head of Caffe Todos Santos) left the West Cape and brought a wood-burning pizza oven here. They now bake fresh goodies for all that stay and pass through. Let me tell you, the carrot cake is fantastic! Even if you're only passing through, make sure to stop by and have a snack or meal here. It is so damn pretty...and huge! What a great town!

Great food! I got the Hawaiian pizza and it was the best I ever had! Lemonade was really good too. Service was friendly and spoke good English. It is great for groups as they have a lot of seating. I recommend it!

Really the best of two worlds- authentic old world Mexican charm & artisan breads & pastries baked by the legendary Marcus Spahr. Self taught, trial & error. Marcus has perfected the art of bread making. From start to finish his bread takes 24 hours. The cold fermentation process he uses give his breads a natural sweetness & nut-like character. BTW you can purchase Ojai Jelly there too, whole supplies last! If you get a chance to talk with Marcus, DO!

Go for the bread, stay for the food! Fantastic pizza and salads as well as specials. Had the pulled pork today and would definitely recommend. We have been coming here for years and it just keeps getting better. If you are in BCS, it is worth the drive to stop and eat here.

We tried Napoli on a recent trip to BCS. We thought it was good but not amazing. We are spoiled to…read moreeat some of the best pizza in the country in SF which we do weekly so anything else is going to fall a little short. We thought it was good and the lovely staff is wonderful. We don't regret our visit.

The service is excellent, the food is great, and the wood fired pizzas are still my favorite in Baja. This time we got the Mexican pizza and the "Pumkin Pizza" (which is really zucchini), as well as a salad and the house red wine. It was a quiet weekday and there was only 1 other couple in the outdoor dining area. The prices are understandably higher than at their prior location. The old location was basically a dirt lot surrounded by short fence and partially covered with a palapa with a brick oven and a few tables. As you can see from these pictures, this location is still outdoors (as are most places in Baja), and in a small condo development with concrete flooring, complete palapa style roof, adobe oven, and comfortable seating - as well as a full bar that the old place didn't have. COVID-19 OUTDOOR DINING SUMMARY We dined "indoors" which is really outdoors - basically a roof over our heads and open on 3 sides. For Covid they have removed some of the tables and spread out the remaining ones. There are also a couple tables further away in an uncovered area - in particular the large family size table was moved out there. We felt very comfortable here. One word of caution - Napoli is in a condo development and we have heard that on some nights a number of families staying there come to Napoli and let the kids run around (Americans seem more lax about Covid than the locals). We have never experienced that and would not hesitate to return. But if you are there during busy times around Christmas, New Years, and Spring Break, you may experience a more crowded environment. COVID-19 Safety Precautions - Staff all wearing masks and gloves - Plastic partitions at register, counter, and bar - All dining is outside - Customers required to wear masks to enter and requested to wear when ordering - Outdoor dining only (as always) - Number of tables reduced and remaining tables spaced further apart - Hand sanitizer available - Take-away service available

Drive carefully and use a navigation app because the roads off the highway are not well signed or lit. It's totally safe. I know what you're thinking...who needs a farm to table restaurant? Hierbabuena is so much more than a concept. Everything is crafted with the freshest and locally grown produce. If you're looking for cheap eats, there's a lot of options. If you need something special and aimed at great ingredients, this is the spot. Service is kind, knowledgeable, and prepared to give you recommendations. You're tucked away in a garden oasis, with incredible nourishment. There are many flowers, birds, and a great playlist. The meal started with a gratis tiny cup of tasty butternut squash soup. I requested a chicory salad because when is chicory a menu star? It's no surprise that this salad was good. The leaves were dotted with tangy goat cheese and gems of pomegranate seeds. Chicory was the star. I had the fish tacos, three dressed in adobo seasoning, a recommendation over the grilled sea bass special. The plate had three small spoons filled with guac, salsa verde, and the most incredible salsa macha. The salsa macha had notes of chocolate that paired well with the adobo seasoned fish. Don't miss this! The chile relleno was filled with quinoa and veggies, plated on top of two sauces. The flavors were really tasty and I appreciated the thoughtful vegetarian option that highlighted seasonal flavors. I walked in knowing I wanted cheesecake for dessert but then learned a favorite was their flan. I switched with no regrets. This flan was better and nothing like anything I've had before. If you like flan and love coconut, this is for you. The cocktails were so good. The martini was different, I loved this passion fruit margarita, the watermelon juice with tequila was refreshing, and they had great local beer options. I was very happy with this lovely meal. Service was wonderful. Please tip your servers; cash is preferred. They work hard and make all the efforts for a memorable meal.
