    The lovely spot!!

Lovely spot to stop! Freakin DELICIOUS sandwiches!! So glad we enjoyed lunch there! Thank you

Newly opened Cafe Soleil in the heart of Oldtown Salinas at 8 Gabilan Street. Coffee, pastries and deli sandwiches Order at the counter to go or sit at 1 of 3 table side barstools either views of Gabilan Street. There a few outdoor tables that create a uniquely European feel to Oldtown. They have several grab and go options as well as espresso drinks. I ordered up an apricot croissant and an Americano coffee. It was nice just to sit outside and enjoy the morning.

Let me start by saying i had high hopes for this cafe, the location is perfect right down the street from school, i decided to go in in between my classes since it was a nice sunny day and they offer outside seating. Went inside, no coffee menu visible, clerk was short with us, ordered an almost $20 dollar asian chicken salad wrap that took 20min to be made, they forgot to add my chicken and when i finally received it the chicken cold and hard and almost chipped my tooth! I lost my appetite was mad that i spent twenty dollars and there was too much ginger. My suggestion is fresh chicken! My friend ordered chicken caesar wrap and it was $20 and her chicken was hard too.

A cute but small cafe. Come here for the food, not the coffee. I had a white chocolate mocha and it was way too sweet. The cranberry turkey sandwich was good. The cranberry sauce came with whole fruit. The star of the show was the chicken Caesar wrap. The croutons were flavorful, the chicken was juicy, and the lettuce had the perfect crunch. The service was good but not really anything to write home to.

Loved this café! The vibes inside are so warm and inviting -- the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. I had a breakfast sandwich and a double-shot cappuccino, and both were amazing. The cappuccino was perfectly made, and the food was fresh and full of flavor. My boyfriend got a dirty chai and some pastries and couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. Definitely one of those spots you stumble into and can't wait to come back to.

Fortunatelly, we were on vacation and exploring Salinas, we went one of the first clients. My dog Rory was the first dog friend there. The service is very friendly, fast. The ambiance is cozy, like a caffè in a small city in Europe. The croissant was delicious! And my white chocolate coffee was really good!

The European Cafe vibes are just Owner is super kind and an awesome local business owner!

Best pastries honestly. Their drinks were really tasty too I'd recommend the strawberry matcha. I visited Salinas from Los Angeles and was just looking for places to get coffee and stumbled upon this place. The reviews were good so we decided to go. The customer service is so cool and I think the worker is honestly funny and super chill. They made us feel like regulars so that's dope honestly. I truly recommend :3

The ambiance of this place is amazing! They have vegan pastries, which I have to say are absolutely delicious. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and a vegan banana muffin (I believe that's what it was called). My boyfriend ordered a brisket sandwich. Everything we tried made us want to come back again! I also can't forget to mention Marlene, the worker who helped us -- she was super helpful, genuine, and answered all of our questions. And

This place is so cute, it reminds me of a little bistro you'd sit at in the city. The service was lovely and the staff were helpful with recommendations! I had one of their fresh juices and one of their signature spinach puff pastry; they were both phenomenal! Really excited for a place like this to be in Salinas!

Overall 10/10 experience, food was really good and matcha was perfect

Great customer Service, the BLTA is a great choice if you're not sure what sandwich to get. A very pleasant ambience as well.

8/10 I ordered the…read moreSupercharger and the Belair, and overall both sandwiches were solid, filling and generously packed. Starting with the Supercharger, this was easily the standout of the two. It's loaded with roast beef, bacon, turkey, ham, salami, pepperoncini, tomatoes, red onions, gouda cheese, and chipotle aioli on a ciabatta roll. They definitely don't skimp on the meat, which makes it super satisfying. The combination of the soft ciabatta and cheese worked really well together and balanced out the heaviness of the meats. My only complaint is that it could've used a bit more sauce, something like extra mustard or mayo would've taken it to the next level. Still, a strong 8.5/10. The Belair was decent but didn't quite hit the same level. It came with turkey breast, bacon, gouda cheese, spring mix, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini, and chipotle aioli on fresh sliced sourdough. Ours actually came with American cheese instead of gouda, which slightly changed the flavor profile. It was a good sandwich overall, but noticeably drier, especially with the sourdough, so it definitely needed more sauce to bring everything together. I'd give it a 7.2/10. Service was fast and efficient, which I appreciated. The ambiance stood out too, it has a cool retro gas station vibe that gives the place some personality and makes it feel unique. Staff was friendly, and the overall experience was smooth.

The only thing I was pretty excited about trying a cookie and we were not able to because they still have Covid precaution to where you cannot step inside the establishment. It's all good. The sandwich was great. The service was nothing to write home about, but the food was good and that's all that matters.

The trip was completely spontaneous since we had been in Big Sur earlier that day, but it ended up being well worth the drive. I never would've expected this market to be tucked away at the end of a residential street, but once you get close, you can smell the food before you even arrive. The sandwich was incredible...huge enough that we had to share it. The meat was so juicy it was literally dripping down my fingers, and I made an absolute mess eating it. I would definitely return. It truly feels like a hidden hole-in-the-wall spot run by hardworking, down-to-earth people. The owner was personable, engaged in friendly banter, and made the experience even better. Plenty of locals stopped by during our lunch, and what really stood out was that he even remembered my friend despite him not having lived in the area for the past three years.

Last but never least, the ribs! Tender, fall off the bone, smoky! We got the full rack for four of us, we each took home ribs for the family!
