The salted vanilla cold brew was refreshing and delicious. It was my first time learning what olalliebeery is (a type of blackberry) and eating a "crimp": essentially a linzer cookie in muffin form. The crimp was perfectly baked, with nicely browned edges and fluffy interior; the dollop of olalliberry jam added both a bit of sweetness and tartness. The mushroom sando was so good, and I would definitely order it again. Everything from the bun (fluffy, buttery, well-baked) to the heaping pile of roasted, saucy mushrooms (so savory and generous), down to the luscious scrambled egg at the bottom was an A+ experience. The prawns were fine, but the pasta wasn't fully cooked, and it had the taste and feel of uncooked flour. My side salad had far too much dressing and the mixed greens were very wilted. My companion ordered the Shrimp Skewer Salad. It was swimming in dressing and like my small salad it was made up primarily of wilted greens. We also thought that, given the poor quality of the meal, $22 for her salad and $32 for my pasta were definitely on the high side, especially at a place where you order your food at a counter and then dine in what amounts to "school lunch rom" ambience.

The drive from Moss Landing to Castroville was brief and easy, and parking at the new location was convenient. The restaurant was spacious, and since it was a weekday, it wasn't busy at all. I immediately had my husband take that exit and check it out. When I saw artichokes artichokes and more artichokes,, I was sold. I went there to look and see what they had. We found so many amazing items! We purchased pasta sauce, artichoke salsa, artichoke focaccia, bread, artichoke bread, artichoke sweet bread, like banana bread, but with artichokes, we bought actual artichokes, artichoke pizza, and mushroom pizza, frozen deep-fried artichokes, a Japanese black watermelon, a cactus plant, artichoke raviolis, and some amazing soft English muffins. Very unique. I know it was a lot, but we don't live close by so we wanted to stock up. What I really like about this place is the friendly people there especially Sara and there was another gal that unfortunately I didn't get her name and the fact that all the artichoke items are from the artichoke fields there and they support local/family bakers and businesses. They have such an assortment of just about everything! We bought some cheese, salami and some bakery items. Such a well organized and clean place. I could have spent $1000.00 in there ! While checking out, out the cashier Mary had us laughing about picking the crops(artichokes) , her grown kids, school and college. She had my granddaughters laughing. We will definitely stop there again! There is also a small truck selling Elote corn and a few other items. If you're nearby, please stop and check this place out! Say Hi to Mary. The cashier at Pezzini Farms did say it was really good (But she said everything as good). She was not lying, I am down to our last few slices and kinda sad b/c I won't have access to it for a while again as we live a couple hours away. I made triple decker clubs and fresh tomato and mozzarella sandwiches, normally I am a "toasted" bread gal, but this was great untested for many iterations too! The slices are huge, so sliced them half for regular sized sandwiches.
