used these guys before mid pandemic and loved em. appointment for trimming at my home 11Am the other day: he (his name was Denilson)showed up 10:40 and , me being at that point indisposed, I was unable to respond. he called (# looked like Spam) about 10 minutes later, pissed, wondering where I was. Note: it was then 10:50. so I squire him around my little patch and he , by now in full butthurt performance, pointed out a bunch of trees that were compromised or dying, explained why he couldn't do this AND that with tree guy mumbo jumbo, and- I'll spare u a lot here -quoted me prices that made reason stare. I used Caffrey to plant some 15+ shrubs/trees on my property. Told me the shrubs were hardy and low maintenance and went over care and water schedule. Call them if any issues. Shortly after planting, the trees/shrubs started to turn brown and was not thriving. Asked them to come take a look and give me some advice- too much water, too little water, fertilizer??? Basically they did nothing and didn't return my calls. Two of the trees died and not sure others will make it past the winter. Thought it was good idea using a local guy but big mistake. Props to Lisa, Bobby, and the team at Caffrey Tree. Needed to remove a dead ash tree and grind the stump. Asked for an estimate on a Friday. Bobby drove by on Monday and provided an estimate. Price was reasonable. I accepted the proposal - just two days later Bobby confirmed that the team would stop by and do the work - removing the tree on Wednesday and grinding the stump on Thursday. No hassle, no deception, no unexpected cost. Lisa was very helpful via email, handling my questions and replying to my messages promptly. Their quote was very fair and I accepted immediately after he told me. It was in line with some of the other 6 quotes I obtained. I just had a much better vibe with this company, so I knew I should commit to Caffrey. They just completed the work and it looks great. I was told 2 years ago by the home inspector that a specific tree I have in my backyard only had 2 years left. Rather than taking the risk of it falling onto my home, I wanted to be proactive and get it looked at by a professional. I was afraid that just having someone over to look at it would provide an opening for them to just tear the tree down regardless because why would I know anything about trees? We had a very large tree we needed removed and we got 3 quotes. Caffrey was very competitive on their bid so we went with them. I called and they said they'd get it on their books and would call me a day in advance. Well, they cut it down quickly and ground the stumps and roots completely. Then they cleaned up everything. It's like the tree never existed! So, they were quick, clean, and effective. That's about all I could ask for. read more

I had them come out last summer for a fungus in a tree on my property. He said he had to come back in early spring to treat the tree. He also said he added it to their calendar. Well fast forward to April tree is blooming and no contact with them. I then reached out to see when they were coming but the office didn't have it on their calendar. She then said I would be contacted to schedule the treatment in the next week or so. 2 1/2 weeks later still waiting for a call. I had the pleasure of hiring Caffrey Tree & Landscaping to remove 10 trees and a huge section of brush and undergrowth from my property in North Brunswick, NJ. Not only were they on time, professional and nice to work with, but they went above and beyond with safety and used all of the correct equipment. Some of the trees were hard to get too, but they used skilled workers and the foreman was on the job to supervise every day. They cleaned everything up and were careful on the lawn and existing flower beds. They ground the stumps down and it turned out they missed a few of the smaller ones (keep in mind, it was a huge job). I called the owner and they came back AT NO CHARGE to get the remaining stumps for me. This was a huge job and I got quotes from other 7 tree services. Their price to do the job was very reasonable and worth every penny. I was completely satisfied with all the work they did. All the workers were courteous and considerate of my property. Also, they were kind enough to pile sections of the trees for me on my second lot of property so I could cut them up for firewood and use in my own fireplace. I also asked them to spray the wood chips into my second lot and they did that for me too. I would hire them to do more work or recommend them to anyone who wants a professional, timely, affordable job done on their premises. Great bunch of guys! Thanks so much. read more

UPDATE: We had some issues with the way Caffrey's ground the stumps (or lack thereof) on a large pine tree. But after a few calls to Caffrey's, the owner himself personally came out and apologized and refunded us some money. It's nice to see good, honest and personal customer service and an owner that truly cares about his customers. read more
