WARNING: COVID-19 Denial / Anti-Vaxx / Anti-Mask ALERT…read more Okay, so today is Thursday 30th December 2021, and we are at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic ... like it's never been worse than it is now. We've got almost 14,000 official new cases in Quebec today alone and the positivity rate is hovering above 30% ... the Island of Montreal is pretty much one entire hot zone. I am the primary caregiver for my 95 year old grandmother so I am exercising a high degree of caution and I am strictly adhering to the recommended public health measures and safety protocols that are in place. I am also friends with a few frontline healthcare workers so I know how extremely difficult the last 21 months have been for my doctor and nurse friends. I usually love Honeys but today I walked past the pub and they've got a chalkboard in the window (photo below) with some sanctimonious COVID denial propaganda. This is disappointing. The healthcare system is crumbling and rates of infections are skyrocketing and these folks cannot think beyond the tip of their noses. This is a paramount example of the selfish, deluded and idiotic behaviour and notions that have crippled our society. This is why the end of this pandemic has eluded us. We are all in this together -- Ça va bien aller Get vaccinated, get your booster shot, wear your N95 mask, maintain a physical distance of 2 metres, reduce your contacts to one household bubble and hopefully this will all be over sooner than later.

The art on the wall is painted by the lovely bartender, the open mic is ran by a friendly and talented musician, the decor is homely and nice, the Rock and roll was ridiculously awesome! Apparently they have an open stage or an open mic on nearly every night of the week which is fantastic. There is a pool table if great live music isn't your thing and you can also admire all the art pieces on the wall. Really glad I went there.

I didn't eat but everyone had wings and shepherds pie. Wings were small but they were good but only thing is they have to do all the same sauce. No half and half. Besides that great little vibe minus this group behind us asked us to be quiet because her 85 year old grandfather can't hear very well. I made a very long journey for what some Yelpers claimed to be the best cannoli but it was the smallest thing I've ever seen! I guess that's a thing in MTL. Small or large. There was no option here, but another MTL bakery had that option. As opposed America where one size fits all --- XL always. Anyway, quite disappointing but tasted alright. I suppose it's hard to beat a cannoli from Boston's North End. The coffee was well made but wasn't worth the journey. Perhaps I just had such high hopes.
