The croissant was good but it would have helped if they had warmed it up for us. The Cortado was nice and strong and gave the kick to survive the rest of the evening. The ginseng latte was out of this world. It kind of tasted like a birthday cake in a cup with just the right amount of sweetness. The service was a bit chaotic though since there was a bit of the rush, but regardless, we had a great experience and loved the aesthetics of this cafe. 10/10 recommend.

And for those of us that are laptop users, there are plenty of plugs to go around too. I took both a cappuccino and an iced latte and both were excellent. I talked to the barista a little too and he told me that you can ask for a stronger tasting espresso since their espresso machine allows them to customize the resulting flavor. Basically, if you want a bitter flavor or a milder one, you can tell them and they will be easily able to achieve it (it sounded way better when he explained it to me though...) Also, all their coffees can be made cold so if you have a hankering for something cold, you have plenty of choices. Another thing that I thought was super cute was that they sell earplugs at the cash! I think it's adorable and useful for those days where you forget your earphones and don't want to hear others around you. I will definitely be coming back to Perko Cafe :)

Their chocolate collection is the best in Montreal, in my opinion. Their olive oil and balsamic vinegar collection put a smile on my face every time. I learned or tried something new every time I went in. My other serendipitous discovery was their phenomenal Turkish coffee. Truly great! Their amazing collection of chocolates and especially my favorite dark chocolates and salty caramels made the cold winter days brighter and my nice summer days sparkling with the fanfare of their exceptional hospitality and artisan tapestry of flavors. Le Fouvrac is little overpacked and filled in with high quality importation fine products. Fleur de sel, Soap of Marseille, organic products, high quality and obscur candies plus spices oil, vinaigrette. It's just a place where I personally need to talk to myself a lot to rationalize about What I need and What I want. Problem is I want a lot of stuff in that little store! The coffee (espresso) was okay. I asked for a macchiato and it's not exactly the kind of coffee you want to have without sugar. Personally I don't like sugar in my coffee--if it's good quality and properly made, it should be naturally sweet. Either the beans they use were stale and over- roasted, or the barista did not pull the espresso properly. That's just a small critique. Great lunch spot, will go again!
