Our place had a kitchen with large refrigerator, stove with two burners, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, sink, plates and glasses. All very clean and convenient. The shower was modern and glass enclosed. A few things that could be improved could the the paper goods (paper towels and toilet paper were not the best quality, and the internet was a bit sporadic and slow - speeds sometimes of only about 1-2 Mbps). We loved the comfortable bed. Firm but not too firm and our pillows were all very nice...a total of six of them....making it very good for me since I like to have at least two when I go to sleep. The lady at the check-in lobby was very sweet and nice. Overall a great place to stay. Either for just one night or for extended stays.

Copley House isn't one location, rather it's a bunch of different units located nearby in Back Bay…read more If you are planning on being in a specific street, you can not do that. They give you the address the day before your check in with codes and instructions on how to get in. Copley House communicates via text and always answered promptly anytime I had a question. We were lucky to get a brownstone located on St Steven Street, which was walkable to lot of places and near Berkelee School of Music and Northeastern University. We had a studio with a kitchen and balcony. We couldn't lock the balcony door but it was elevated and difficult to get to from the ground. Location was great, neighborhood was quiet...but the walls were so thin, which is apparently normal in Boston. I could hear every voice as they were coming in the main entrance at night and every door slam. We stayed in such a cute place.

I was very unsure which area to stay in, but I'm so happy I chose CCB because the location is absolutely perfect. Back Bay is very nice and safe. You even have a wonderful park just outside the doorstep to walk around, and the lovely Boston Commons only two blocks away. Check-in/out was one of the most seamless experiences I've had with hotels/airbnbs. I didn't have to check in with anyone, and I received the door code a few days before. They have a lovely dining room for guests with homemade cookies, fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great too. CCB is really the perfect mix of a hotel and bed/breakfast. I was unsure about doing the solo room with a shared bathroom, but other than having to wait for the other guest to finish his shower so I could take an urgent bio break, it was no issue at all and I would hands down do it again. I'm pretty sure the other floors have a bathroom if you absolutely need it though. For the location, price, comfort, and amenities, College Club of Boston is a no brainer. I got the please to quickly meet the GM on my way out, and she is super sweet. I even left my airpods in the room, and without hesitation they are shipping them back to me. 5 starts forsure.

Room: 5 Our room was impeccable with impressive personal touches and attention to detail. Little things like Fiji water, fresh soft towels (and a black towel for makeup), full array of toiletries, and a welcoming comfortable firm bed. Despite having alllll the things to do in Boston, I was excited to get back to that room and that bed, and I slept like a log. I like a good bed when I'm traveling and I would never stay at another place if I had the option. My favorite aspect was having a separate bedroom and living area (with pull out couch). All things comparable, I've stayed in a thousand hotels, I've traveled Boston thoroughly. This will be my go-to forever. Whether traveling single, as a couple, or with my kids, I will look at 284 first and foremost. Kid-friendly: yes! I would definitely stay here with my kids (ages 9, 11, 13). Safe, fun, welcoming, and wallet-friendly. Special bonus and wow impression: each room is themed after a different artist. I love love love this concept and intrigued me a thousand times over. The portions were right-sized, which was appreciated since our B&B did not have a refrigerator in the room. Though I no longer remember what we had (...probably lamb for me and Bolognese for my partner), I do remember that it was a good representation of the advertised dish--not some high concept, deconstructed bullsh*t. The desert martinis were more memorable than whatever cake we chose, but--again--I can't remember the desert being bad, just forgettable. The price was comparable to restaurants in the surrounding area, and the staff were 'easy on the eyes', so we'll be back the next time we're up that way.

It was a little warm/hard to cool off the room (I'd pack a mini fan just in case during the summer) but otherwise we really enjoyed !

They give one the feeling of being back in the 1940's. We did have to drive to a parking garage. It was fine for us, but if one is elderly, it could be difficult. I understand that the club is named after the first woman to walk down the gangplank from the Mayflower when the Pilgrims arrived. That may give you a bit of insight into the clientele. This is a women's club, filled with tradition and old fashioned manners. Men, only recently admitted as guests, must wear a coat and tie. And there are not too many men around, ladies. The surroundings are respectable and clean, the dining room filled with light. Many lovely servers attend to your needs. Luncheon offers a choice of two soups (if you have allergies or are a vegetarian, The Chilton Club is not for you), followed by a traditional buffet. The buffet consists of one main dish, a couple of sides and some desserts. The main dish is always something like beef bourguignon or creamed chicken. The desserts are cookies, puddings and fruit salads. Everyone seems to be connected here, so if you are shy or from out of town, not connected to anyone in Boston, it may be a bit daunting. If you have ancestors who came over on the Mayflower, you should be fine. I do recommend going if you are invited. Just be aware that if you are a vegetarian or a vegan, you will not be able to eat. And if you are a man and forget your coat and tie, you will be forced into tweedy leftover outfits that may not fit you in the least, otherwise you will have to leave. That's The Chilton Club.

Our room included a bathroom (bath on the hall is also available.) The shower in 315 is TINY ~ tiny home or motor home tiny. Still, it got the job done. We slept well and had a quiet night despite the business of the alley (deliveries, trash pickup) going on behind us. Innkeepers were kind and helpful. If you need an affordable Boston stopover that provides a clean place to sleep and serve as home base for Boston adventures, the Oasis may fit the bill. Notes: narrow, curving stairs. No elevator. Their website gives all the information and is quite accurate.

I was in the room the whole time though. I stayed about a week in Nov. It's like a 5-10 min walk from the convention center. There is pastries and bagels and milk for breakfast and other items. There's a fridge you can use. There's like a rule to put your name on your stuff if you use the fridge. I didn't follow the rule. I just bought a beer and put it in there and drank it the next day. No big problem. I think my favorite part was that on the day I was checking out they let me leave my carry on bag and backpack and I could come back for it later. I would definitely stay here again. I got the chance to explore the backbay area of Boston. This places isn't a five star hotel but I think it's five star for the type of place that it is. Back to my favorite part, on the day when I checked out I was able to check out and go out for a huge walk and come back and pick up my stuff.

There are few things that you have to know about IGH. First is an Internet. It takes you 1-2 days to download anything that is more then 1.5 GB to your computer. I wouldn't usually complain about that but you have to pay $40 per month for it. Second is food - quiet awful. Also you can't smoke in the room, staff would yell at you even you will go outside to the fire escape. Microwave, kitchen, laundry don't always work well and quality is bad. I understand everything but when you're paying $1680 each month you should probably get a better service.

463 Beacon Street Guest House Ok- I always try to be just…read moreand not write out of ire or any distressed emotional state. However, this place caused me such distress. The first few nights, I spent at the actual 463 Beacon street house B&B. It wasn't bad--I had read good reviews all around, especially from tripadvisor.com and even the New York Times! I was a little disappointed when I first checked in to the 3rd floor room. No, a microwave and a mini fridge with some plates sitting on top, do not count as a "kitchenette". The room itself was pretty small, which is understandable, and the furniture slightly shoddy. The bathroom was just ok, lighting was about the only thing that caught my attention. It was pretty good compared to the dingier lamp-light of the bedroom. Anyway, at $69 though, I could not really complain. The location was also a plus, right on Beacon and a block from Mass Ave and of course walking distance from Newbury St, and all the touristy places in the vicinity. The distress does not however stem from the room at 463 Beacon, rather from one of their rooms available for short term rentals. Yes, a place on 325 Beacon street. It is on the first floor (stoop is at eye level with the bedroom--actually entire room) . As soon as I entered this room I was hit with a strong smell of cheap Walgreen's eau de toilette laced with another scent. Yes, I would say it was a dead-ratish or perhaps a backed up toilet (chronic problem perhaps?) aroma that permeated the place in conjunction with the cheap perfume smell. The bed was most depressing as it also seemed to smell like someone's unhygienic nether-regions. The shower/toilet/kitchen sink combo was no better of course and was lit by a bulb about 20 watts? Yes there was a mini fridge and a microwave and dishes I hope no one washed with the shriveled brown sponge but one can only hope.... I had a distressing vision of myself being found at the week's end with my wrists slashed on the bed accompanied by a suicide note...so in order to prevent this most disturbing fate, I had to quickly run--not walk back to the main house and beg the concierge to please return my prepaid week's amount. I was ready to beg, plead, grovel, but was pleasantly relieved when the horrified look on my visage was enough. The concierge was gracious and kind. I advise you that you also run not walk from any thought of staying in a room at the 325 Building..... Be warned!

Its essentially a bed and breakfast, without the breakfast or the host/hostess. If you like B&Bs, nothing here will be surprising. Its a tall Victorian brownstone located in gorgeous Back Bay. There are no signs to declare it any different from the rows of houses on the same, serene, tree-lined street. Its a lovely feeling to walk out, as though departing from your home, imagining you lived here. After getting buzzed in, the first floor has a small communal area with a bench, coffee and tea station, and information about Boston to take. We checked in at the tiny, adjacent office, which keeps limited hours. Friendly, easy-going staff, and we were able to leave our luggage there at start and end of the trip. I booked, with just a a twinge of trepidation, a room at the uppermost level, a fifth floor walk-up. I banked on the walk to justify all the eating planned, and it really wasn't bad at all. A bit of old detailing was kept in the building, so we had much to admire going up the winding stairwell, including the long chandelier hanging down the center from a stained glass fixture. Every room here is different. We peered into a few on some mornings, where guests apparently just checked-out, and found most to have their own attractions. Our room, #51, was one of a few with two beds. Basic features: private bathroom, kitchenette (sink, microwave, fridge), dining table, armchairs, desk, spiral stairs leading to the loft area with one full bed and one twin, and a tv mounted high on the wall, viewable from both levels. There's free wi-fi that didn't work for me, but I felt no need for it so I didn't bother asking the office staff to trouble-shoot. Nothing plush here, but the beds were comfortable enough. Metal key entry, the old-fashioned way. PLUS (room #51) - high-ceiling loft set-up - atmosphere - spacious - cool, old metal spiral stairs MINUS (room #51) - truly tiny bathroom, I kept hitting myself as I showered and I'm small! - everything a bit worn overall - limited windows Great location in beautiful Back Bay and convenient, within a 10-minute walk to commercial Newbury and Boylston Sts, the Hynes Convention Center, and the T metro stop on Mass Ave, which allows fairly quick access to other areas in Downtown Boston. But even on foot, Boston Common is just a pleasant 20 minute walk away. I emphasize that the minuses here don't bother me. I considered it part of the experience, and quite enjoyed it, but others may feel a refurbishing is required to pay to stay. Sure, I don't disagree about a refresh, but a thorough refurbishing will also mean they can (and should) charge a fortune. As it is now, 463 Beacon St is a great deal in a great location, a good alternative to a boutique experience at more than twice the price.
