Stopped by Cajun Daiquiris and grabbed a Sex on the Beach daiquiri. It was really good. Smooth, cold, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet. Easy to drink and exactly what you want when you're just trying to relax and cool off. What stood out to me is how interesting it is that only in Louisiana you can pull up and get a daiquiri through a drive thru. Definitely not something you see everywhere, and it makes the whole experience that much more memorable. The spot itself is casual and easygoing. There's not a lot to say about Shreveport. So when my husband shares stories or tries to explain his hometown to strangers, Cajun Daiquiris (aka a drive thru for alcohol wut?! Alcohol TO GO (keep in mind they have been doing this long before pandemic takeout drinks)) almost always earns a shoutout. Finally after years of him telling folks the stories of the soccer moms who would swing through Cajun Daiquiris during practice. I got to experience it myself. Aaaaaand I am so sorry babe, (he's watching me type this) it's a totally just okay experience. The signage was impossible to read. There are a whole bunch of specialty combinations but I couldn't decipher any of it. I was hopeful that the staff member would be able to navigate the process for me. That was a big NOPE. Not only did she offer no help, or smiling behind the mask, she was pretty darn rude. Because I was so overwhelmed I got a simple strawberry daq (honestly didn't even see this on the menu I just held my breath and crossed my fingers after ordering). The drink itself tasted pretty good. It was not a boozy drink by any means. So it's a nice one to really ~enjoy~ and for $8 it's a wicked good deal. Drive thru daiquiris?! Yes please! We got the monkey shine and it tastes like chocolate bananas. The to-go cups are pretty interesting. If you're not familiar with Louisiana drinking and driving rules, you have to nake sure the lid isn't punctured through with a straw, in case you get pulled over by a cop. Happy drinking! read more

As you enter the store you'll see the frozen daiquiri machines churning away the 10 or 12 flavors of frozen concoctions. A list, handwritten, on the counter of wonderful mixes is a must try. I happened to be there on Saturday when they were offering a two-for-one special. You must try the "pimp juice" or the "Obama" Each drink is served in a Styrofoam cup and comes in three sizes. We finely tried Cajun Daquiriis the other day and it was basically what I expected, a slurpee with cheap alcohol. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and helped me to pick out a strong but fruity drink. I ended up choosing 'Skittles' which being a daquiri virgin, I'm afraid I chose one that was just a little too strong. The total come out to be $9 for a quart of fruit flavored hooch. Neither my wife and I ended up drinking much of it, because the fear of the next day's cheap booze hangover was just too strong. Literally whatever booze they were using was one step up the olfactory pyramid from rubbing alcohol. The beverage is still sitting in the back of our freezer if you would like to stop by and sample it for yourself. I just can't bring myself to throw away perfectly good alcohol. Three stars because I'm such a fan of the business model, and they service was great. However if you really want cheap booze, you might be better off going to drive through liquor store buying a bottle of cheap vodka and mixing it with a 2 liter of hawaiian punch. You can even mix it in your car to replicate the experience. read more

They tape your straw to your cup, but I think it would be obvious to any cop if you drank some of this- you would reek of liquor!!! I agree that you aren't sure if it is open or closed sometimes. When you first pull up, the window on the first side is covered up. Just drive around and go to the other window. That is the only one they use! The lady working there was absolutely fantastic. She took her time with us, and would describe how a drink would taste, how strong it was. She was so very pleasant and fun to talk to! There is a very wide selection, and then you can also custom make a selection with add in's. Get to your house or hotel before you drink them!
