I really hate to do this but our experience was really disappointing. I was looking around for local bake shops & bakers, other than the popular Bundt or Arleens, because we wanted something special for my friends birthday. I found Cake and Love, saw the reviews and thought "why not?" I love supporting local small businesses. I knew the designs weren't up to par compared to other places, however I read that the cakes tasted really good. My friend Marc ordered them and requested 4 cupcakes but the owner said she could only do a dozen. The design requested for the cupcakes was to write the name on 4 and the rest with birthday + Halloween designs. And he ordered four different flavors. She had a week to prepare and offered to drop them off. Not only was she an hour late, but she practically rushed off without giving us a chance to look at the cupcakes to check them. You can only imagine our disappointment when we opened the box. It looked absolutely terrible, rushed and as if a child decorated these. These cupcakes were for an adult. The taste was just ok too. The chocolate cakes were mushy, the red velvet were dry and the other two were 'eh.' It was too late to find something else so we sucked it up and used them to sing happy birthday anyway. Regardless if there was any mis-communication, this is not acceptable. And I feel that we deserve a refund. read more
